Happy i completely agree with your comment, Epic have stopped listening to the community! the last time they did was at the start of OG. In my honest opinion, Epic no longer care about what the community want, it’s all about what they want.

it really doesn't make sense to change it because the battle royale look was "outdated". Battle royale is the only reason Fortnite exists, and honestly the quirky looking ui of early fortnite looked really good, it fit the cartoonish aesthetic that the game had at the time and was a fan favorite for all players. At this point they just ruined the battle royale game we used to love. Now they changed movement animations,Creative mode UI,Locker UI,lobby UI,Overpriced Items and now removing skin rarity.They make thing too complicated,oversimplified.Nobody asked for any of those changes.Everything was perfect before all of the changes Literally nobody needed and wanted those changes.Fortnite isnt Really Fortnite Anymore

I feel like they've done stupider things for sure, they're just continuing to insult our intelligence, they're just doing it directly now without hiding it behind the rarity rating. Epic could decide to charge 1200 VB for a skin over 800 because they choose to or they could choose to and slap a rarity rating on it to justify it, which is based on, well nothing, there's no legislation involved in assigning a rarity to an item. I'm just trying to put this in perspective, if we feel like they'll be lying about price qualifications, they've been doing that for years already but just using a valuation system that is of their own choosing to justify it

I've said it before. They don't want Battle Royale to be what they're known for anymore and it's absolutely idiotic. They also haven't updated the locker for months.

@@HappyPoweror just make PBE server for fortnite just like it is with league of legends, they test new features here too before some exploits hit the live servers and you can get league's currency inside the pbe so you can test skins on this server, you cannot transfer the currency to the main server though but I think this would have been a cool option for fortnite too

The little things like cartoony colors ont the map or skin rarity are part of the game. Nobody would think about removing any of these things because they are part of the game. What are they doing,it's like they don't understand why people loved this game since 2017

Fortnite trying not to remove a feature nobody complained about: *Impossible*
First they added the stupid roblox menu that no one wanted. Then they added Lego, Rock Band, and Rocket League that no one wanted or cared about (Look at how many people play it, it's bad.) Now they added the worse locker change ever known and now taking out rarities. Honestly, Fortnite isn't really good anymore. I think Season Two of Chapter Five might be my last season. I started Fortnite at the very end of Season Six of Chapter One and got the battle pass the next season. How the mighty have fallen.
Same here, I said in my comment how their are sweats, and children, but not only that a lot of the lobbies are inflated with bots that play like their the easter bunny with how much they jump around
The rarity just felt so nice to look at plus it helped me decide which skin I wanted to buy and to see why it was That rarity! But now they're just trying to make Fortnite just as Bland like any other battle Royale game nowadays! I feel like doing THIS is just a way for Fortnite to pretty much Scam their players buy making us pay like double the price for what's possibly an Uncommon skin but we wouldn't know it's an uncommon since the colors,tags and rarity are gone! Just change it back Fortnite! No one asked for this in the first place! :(
"The old battle royale system of colours"- That is what they based themselves off of, that made the game unique, and one of the only things even resembling what Fortnite was in it's prime, now it's removed, I dont think anything in the main game is even the same as how it was anymore. As much as I hate to say it… if you scroll below the first row of games Fortnite looks like Roblox. It’s sad to see how Fortnite evolved from the cartoony shooter into a Roblox clone. At least Fortnite still has mainstream games like a battle royal.
A bunch of bullshit. I remember when the boys and I would rush home off the bus and play for hours back in chapter 1. I still remember like it was yesterday. Was only about 13 back then. Now we are all out working, remembering the good times of fortnite.
I understand where epic is coming from when you consider they never release epic emotes anymore just icon or rare ones, although I'll miss the rarity system I'm sure we will eventually get use to it. (Also just buy a skin of you want it and if you don't then just don't, a rarity should not dictate if you buy something or not).
If they want to simplify then they can remove the 80 separate sections in the locker instead of dropping the rarities.
I particularly enjoy how, in removing item rarities, they completely DESTROYED how you sort your locker. Emoticons spread among all of the emotes, basic skins mixed right beside legendaries, and there's no way to sort it the way it was sorted originally.
As a side note - Pickaxes still have rarities in game 😭

Don't change the way it's priced my ass, look at the current collab, had it come out a few months ago they would have been 1600 each with pickaxe. Now its 2000 each for epic rarity skins.

Whatever they have in mind, it's definitely not leading up to any good. Moving their focus from BR(which is what they're known for), screwing up the UI, item shop shenanigans, not having proper QC on dozens of bugs before staging the updates and so many other stuff.. epic really needs an overhaul and actually take into account what the community really wants :/
Epic realizes they can get away with absolutely anything because theres a number of Fortnite players who will defend literally any change they make. Dont be surprised when they bring back old battle passes. Zero Build brought a wave of weirdos and 40 year olds to this game who complain when anything is "unfair". This is another one of these changes. They want everything to be fair and on a level playing field.

At this point, I’m just gonna get my Metallica skins, the Snoop Dogg skin if the leaks were true, the Pirates of the Caribbean skins (including Jack Sparrow), and hope that they make a movie skin for both Deadpool and Wolverine, and just leave after a few days. After that, I’m boycotting everything Epic makes for this game, and move on to games like GTA or TF2 (which has a fire summer update the time this comment has been posted). I’m fed up with Epic’s recent change to this game, and they need to get that through that thick, numb, stupid skull of theirs.
It was fun being apart of this community, but now it’s time I said goodbye to the game I held onto for such a long time after I do my final stand with this game. I just want Epic Games to know how deeply disappointed I am of this change for the worst. This was not what I have been expecting, and it’s in a bad way.
But on the other hand that discussion is kinda stupid. "Now they could say the skin is legendary instead of epic" like...huh? They could slap that legendary rarity on every skin and people would pay the "legendary" price 😂

Even that price range im getting sick and tired of. These skins are NOT worth a THIRD OF AN ENTIRE VIDEO GAME. I am already so stressed out with my money right now. We live in New York. This state gouges money out of our wallets for NO REASON other than the fact that we live in the same state that NYC is in. I almost don't care about the cosmetic rarities as it's one of those things that never concerned me. They could've left well enough alone and the players would've been happy.. Epic's reasoning is total bs, however. Seems like a lot of their reasons for doing things is, where Battle Royale is concerned. You might even think they're trying to ever so slowly back away from even having it as a continuing thing. This is why I've been saying to friends for some time that Donald Mustard saw all of this stuff coming and wanted no part of it, so he bailed. And with the firing of 16% of their staff, there's less people around to put in the work to make BR successful. Cause and effect.
I'm so glad you brought up that tweet Epic sent out about how they're going to fix the locker. They're not going to fix it. This is their new normal and if we don't like it, well, here's some skippity toilet maps to go and play around in. Distraction distraction distraction.
I also sympathize with that other RUclipsr who stopped buying skins. I haven't bought anything new for some time. For me, it was just a matter of I've spent enough money on this game and I'm just tired of doing it. That and there's clearly not a whole lot of effort being made on these skins. They're fricken terrible.
They're starting to make the whole BR experience ever more undesirable. Last season it was pushing the V-Bucks out until like level 144 (or close to that). This season, they've pushed the base styles for BP skins out into both the Bonus AND Quest rewards. This, in my opinion, is all part of an effort to monopolize players' time as much as possible while also smearing a healthy dose of frustration on them as well. Want those 1500 V-Bucks? Gotta play longer, kid. Want Aphrodite's base glider/pickaxe styles? Get in there and grind that shit out, kid. Oh by the way, check out our new skippity toilet quests in the BR section of your quests.

Epic assigned all these rarities. Have to ever asked yourself why something is legendary and should cost 2000 VBucks? Does it mean Epic put in more work into a legendary skin than they did with a common skin? You are buying pixels, not precious metals and stones. Epic always priced them however they wanted. What is different now? When Epic tells you something is legendary you are okay with paying a triple price but now because you don't see the legendary color you think you are overpaying. The argument about pricing based on color doesn't make any sense. However, I agree the new locker looks terrible and I want the old settings back. Also, I want to be able to save more than 100 presets.
So let me get this straight… If epic sold Opal in the item shop without a rarity for 2000 V bucks, that would be unscrupulous behavior. However, if they took that same skin, assigned it a legendary quality rating, same skin just with a gold background, and sold it for 2000 V bucks, that would be perfectly all right? Just saying, let's think about this logically and not emotionally.
I know change isn't easy, but the only thing that's going to be changing literally is the backgrounds of the thumbnails.

If they keep up with these "changes" they are making, Fortnite is gonna be losing players everyday. They completely messed up the originality of Fortnite after chapter 2, the game just doesn't feel the same anymore, especially the locker UI, the damn ITEM SHOP ( extremely shitty things gets released or just stays the same for days ) , and now the rarity of cosmetic items is removed!?

I don't think the rarity being removed will change how much the skins cost because even with the rarity they could still scam people by making a basic skin "legendary" so they could sell it for 2000 vbucks. I feel like it's just become a lot more noticable because they removed the rarity. The yule trooper is a great example of this. They reskin a 1500 vbuck skin and resell it for 1500 vbucks. Moisty merman is another example where they make a basic skin and sell it for 2000 vbucks. In other words it's always been there but it's going to be visible to people who think that the "rarity" determines the price. Even if you say that the "rarity" means how often it comes out then compare recon expert to red knight. Red knight has come out way more than recon expert but yet their "rarity" are completely different. No matter how you look at it, you've still been scammed.
Epic also quietly removed the Show FPS setting for Switch players. I guess we can't complain about our FPS if Epic prevents us from seeing it!

Advice...use the rarity label for how often something appears in the item shop. If its been 3 years,its definitely Legendary. 😂

This is what happens when the community is divided and cant agree on anything. Remember the awful movement change and how people pretended to like it because "sweats" were complaining? Guess what. There will be a large number of people who couldnt care less about the locker UI or skin rarity. Epic can legit get away with anything and the community only has themselves to blame.
