They log on and do challenges, I'm not a destiny player but I've heard that they've been asking for almost 2 years for armor sets that you can earn and every update. It's just more $30 skins for your character. Like why would I want to even try that experience knowing what to expect? I've been playing a lot of OverWatch recently, but they are in in a very bad predicament as well where the identity of the game has almost been completely lost and so they're just trying to pander to the new fans, the younger fans, and those who are willing to open their wallet consistently. But apparently even that isn't enough to keep Blizz/Microsoft happy because They acknowledged in their last earnings call that OverWatch was severely underperforming@@tails3927

Sadly Fortnite is going the RUclips path now. They implement changes nobody likes and nobody asks for and don't give a damn when they receive all the backlash
Rarity background on skins looked visually pleasing to the eye when scrolling through the locker. Don’t like how you can’t tell what rarity something is anymore. They have made the game feel soulless and without personality.
For real! Plus, I used the rarities to keep track of where I was in my locker. It helped so much with organization since I could just remember the rarity and then sort through the alphabet. Now it’s just sorting through the alphabet, meaning it’ll take longer to find legendary or epic skins with names at the end of the alphabet
they did this purely for money, this is just so they can put whatever price they want for skins without getting shit for it. now people can’t complain that rare skin is over 1200 vbucks theres gonna be no more standardized price.
People can still criticize skins being overpriced. Even if there’s no “standard pricing”. besides the rarity was more of an arbitrary label than anything matter of quality
@@captainswagger2838 no people very much can still criticizing snd they should! my point is theyre doing this to increase skin prices without as much backlash. if they dropped a rare skin for 1500 people would be like wtf thats how much epic skins cost. no theres no rarity to compare to the price is whatever they want. at least with rarity there was a price limit Rare:1200 epic:1500 legendary:2000 like they wouldn’t price skins alone for more then what their rarity was worth
They literally told that prices are not affected and also they dont first make the rarity to the skin, rarity is the last thing they do based on what price they put that item for example they are like Hmm this skin looks kinda cool and all but doesnt have any styles at all so this should be 800 vbucks and then they put the rarity to uncommon. So they dont be like lets make legendary rarity skin, and then they make it ugly and price is 2000. Thats not how they do things. You are just a kid or teenager or even adult but thinking like a kid.
@@Joovain They said the prices won't change but they also say a whole bunch of other stuff and never follow up on it. Nothing guarantees the prices don't change.
Cuddle team leader and panda team leader are both 2000 vbucks. This won’t lead to sudden new overpricing cause they were doing it before for some skins The rarities meant nothing they were just arbitrary labels. Unlike in br itself where it actually means someth to have a legendary weapon over a common
I really hope that skin rarities return. Fortnite should listen to their community more. They said they would revamp the locker, and instead they de-grade it. This entire "evolution" of Fortnite is going to be the downfall of the game. I just wish Fortnite would stop pretending to be a game that they aren't.
That’s what I’ve been saying, they are trying so hard to be a game they are not. It’s so obvious that it’s disrespectful to the players. If we want to play cod we’ll play cod.
I don’t know what they were thinking. When they said that they would be making the UI better, it now just seems to me that they were saying that to shut us up because they didn’t want to. Fortnite need to listen to their players more.
I learned to accept that this isn’t a Video game anymore, this is business whose only interest is making as much money as possible and not making a good game.
The avatar skins being 2,000 per skin is absolutely ubsurd and they won’t even let us just get the skin and pick axes separately to make things cheaper epic is starting to become way too corporate
remember in Season X when Fortnite tried to change building delay and when everyone complained and threatened to stop playing they're game, they changed it almost immediately? what happened to that team of people who actually cared what their community had to say...
They say they want to make the game simple yet change the UI and shop every other update. And I agree that chapter 5 ruined the game because it made it a platform rather than a battle royale.
@@deeznuts23yearsagoI’m waiting for Fortnite kids to start attacking saying we’re being ungrateful 💀 also I knew they would find a way to screw up the game after season og
I'm still bitter over them taking away our Legacy Achievement Awards tab. All that history just gone without warning. Everything they've done since Chapter 5 has been a downgrade just slowly chipping away at the game :(
It really feels like everything that made Fortnite Fortnite is being scrubbed away and removed. What happened to the game I loved playing hours and hours of? What happened to the beautiful cartoony graphics? What happened to the fun and interesting itemshop rotations where literally anything could come back at any point? What happened to my locker and presets which were neatly organised. Epic needs to start listening. Tim Sweeney needs to start listening. I’ve personally been putting in less and less time in on Fortnite and been less interested in the battlepasses. One day I feel like I might move on and that’s scary. I loved Fortnite and saw so much potential in the game that has now been squandered because of corporate greed and a man who has a vision for the game which ruins the original vision for the game. I genuinely see a future where Fortnite BR gets the STW treatment and stops getting updates and new features because of the new modes/metaverse.
@@glitzliv oh but don’t forget the new players, and the little kids migrating from Roblox. What’s gonna happen is these little kids are gonna play br, realise that building is hard, then move to the discovery channel and start playing creator maps. Soon, as Fortnite becomes even more infested with these migrated kids, they’ll be the majority, and we’ll be the minority. Then br gets phased out and we’re stuck playing skibidi zone wars
It really is a shame to see what Fortnite is becoming. As someone who has been playing since 2017 and always enjoying the cosmetic side, it feels so that they’ve really gotten out of touch with the people actually playing the game. I agree that Chapter 5 really was a declining point :(
You hit the nail on the head here; something as minor as rarities being removed has much larger and sinister implications, and its just another way of Fortnite de-volving back into meeting the same fate that many other huge multiplayer games have met. I only hope Epic takes note of all the uproar against all these changes and reverts them, but it might be too late for that.
i dont like how when they first got removed everybody was freaking out but now nobody cares about it. like i still think going through the locker feels like a chore nowadays when they made the rarity background removed and made it that ugly blue color, and now that they completely removed rarities as a whole the common pickaxe rarity in game looks ugly. looking for stuff in the locker sucks too
I had a feeling that OG Fortnite was almost a send off to the whole original version of this game. And this definitely proves that point. They’re just becoming something else. I won’t be surprised if they change the game name next and get rid of all of their Original game modes
Tbh with all these changes they made, I hope that the game will finally fall completely off, so that Tim Metaverseey will finally get "punched" in his face. I've hated him since Kindergarten.
If it keeps going in this direction it will. Eventually the only people left playing it will be 8 year olds that will loose interest and move on as well. It’s coming.
I doubt it will ever die unfortunately. If the game dips to a low amount of players, Epic can just rerelease Fortnite OG and BOOM, new wave of constant players.

RL was one of the last games I truly loved. I got SSL in season 9, then i just kinda played every now and then, and now I just don’t play at all. Fortnite is Epic’s main priority so they’ll crush everything that isn’t Fortnite. The funny part? Fortnite is crumbling now.
@@TuxumI used to play rl aswell, and I won’t lie they did crush it in place of rocket racing. But Fortnite isn’t crumbling, as much as people will want it to, it’s not going anywhere cause they removed colours from the writing in the description of their skins.
Dude those like a few hundreds of employees or whatever, HIRE THEM BACK because apparently whoever was running the shops and the locker was fired and replaced with either AI or just people who can’t run the game
This is purely speculative, without concrete evidence, but observations and community sentiments have fueled this line of thought. Historically, Fortnite's item shop boasted a varied selection of skins and items, keeping the excitement alive. However, since the Lego mode debut, there's been a noticeable shift , the same skins with finished lego skins seem to cycle through the shop repeatedly (Note: Not all skins have lego skins with them i.e. John Wick, but majority of shops recycle the same content). The community has been quite vocal about our dissatisfaction with "terrible shops" lately. Yet, despite this feedback, the pattern continues. This situation led me to theorize, could Epic Games be strategically manipulating the item shop in coordination with their deal with Lego? Epic Games may have entered into contractual agreement with Lego that possibly is linked to sales performance. It's conceivable that if the sales since introducing Lego related skins/items don't meet certain targets within a specified time frame, Epic would then benefit from renegotiated terms, perhaps paying a lower commission to Lego. If this were the case, it would make sense for Epic to limit the shop's appeal temporarily, ensuring that sales figures stay within a range that would allow them to negotiate more favorable terms. It's a complex strategy, and one that carries risks, particularly in terms of player satisfaction and potential long term brand damage (Also would damage business relationships if true). Epic would likely have calculated that the short term loss in shop diversity and appeal could be offset by the long term financial benefits of a more favorable contract with Lego. To be clear, this is all theoretical. Business deals and strategies, especially in the gaming industry, are often shrouded in secrecy. This is my theory to make sense of a situation that, on the surface, seems to disregard community feedback and business sense.
This is a HUGE punch to the face to anybody who has renegade raider or any of those very rare skins theyre on the same level as the rest now even though we know how rare some cosmetics are 🤦🏻♂️ everything peaked in the 2010’s…
not really, i have aerial assault trooper and it doesn’t change a thing. yes i agree this is stupid but it doesn’t change the rarity of my OG skin like you think.
I would rather them change the locker back to way it was. They have removed every feature I thought was good about the locker system. One change I hate is having to change the skins, emotes, and wrap load-outs because they don’t all save to presets anymore.
So, one of the things I found out is that shop prices are increasing because of Lego. Every time Epic updates a skin to support Lego mode, Lego Corp must get a cut of the money on top of that Disney who own Star Wars they got to get their cut of the Star Wars skin as well as Lego getting a cut from the Lego variants on top of that so... Yes, get ready for a super pricey shop for the rest of this game's life. Now I don't mean to start any conspiracies when i say this next part BUT on top of Disney and Lego guess who also gets a small cut of the item shop money? Creators with a creator code. I know the money you guys get is small but think about it... Your cut, Disney's cut, and Lego's cut it adds up over time
I really dislike the changes recently, I've not touched the locker in months, except only changing a skin, which it's hard to browse skins when I could just look at the color and know instantly before, but now have to check manually. The UI is so plain and boring in general now. When it comes to the rarity system, on one hand I get the change, it's honestly pretty pointless to have for it's just a "rarity" on the name/color, but changing this after so many years makes even less sense. Now Epic will probably sell new skins soon and increase the price for who will know what is considered "legendary". As you said in the video, the avatar staff might be overpriced, most likely any collab will all be considered "legendary" in terms of pricing.
I think this is a good change. We have mid skins from early seasons that are epic or legendary and get charged way more than actually good skins from newer seasons that are both more creative and more detailed but get sold for less.
Its one of the worst things they have done imo it feels so weird looking at this mess in the locker especially at OG legendary skins not being legendary anymore like Raptor , Leviathan or Raven they were legendary for so long and now seeing them without this orange LEGENDARY is so sad and weird they are now just 2000 Vbucks skins ...😢
I’m gonna be honest, they shouldn’t have removed the skin rarity’s because with so many players being used to that structure of the locker, it really throws players off. I definitely agree with what you said about how the legendary or epic skins made the skins feel epic or legendary. I feel like this change has gotten major backlash and so many people are upset, especially considering it was a pointless change. I wouldn’t be surprised if with all backlash and response they receive that they might revert back to the rarity system. At the end of the day it is just a very minor change. And a lot of what you said I don’t necessarily agree with. I can understand why you think that small changes like these make the game feel more soulless, however from epic games standpoint I can see where they’re coming from. With all the new game modes and cosmetics they are trying to implement it’s most likely hard for them to keep up with adding rarities along with making sure the prices match up. It may seem like a simple thing to do, but when it comes to a game developer’s standpoint it is likely overly challenging for them to keep up with the rarity system perfectly matching each cosmetics price. And when the pricing may not match up, the community complains or points this out. With the growing amount of different cosmetic types, removing the rarity likely helps to eliminate this issue. Also I want to talk about what you said with chapter 5 ruining Fortnite. Chapter 5 although very different, has been extremely innovative. In order for Epic to keep the players engaged, they can’t stick with the OG roots of the game. They have to keep expanding and break away from what it used to be. If they keep the same feel as OG Fortnite or the chapter 2 era the game will become bland. Don’t get me wrong, most of my favorite seasons were in chapters 1 and 2, but they can’t replicate similar seasons to these forever or the players will lose interest. It’s kind of like how players were at the end of chapter 1. They wanted a new map because playing on the same map, season after season has become so repetitive. OG and chapter 2 were fun time periods, but those eras needed to come to a close. I feel like recent Fortnite has been overly hated on for becoming more different then how it started. I don’t agree with this at all because change is necessary for the game. There’s a lot of people who complain about so many things about this game, and if they are so fed up with it, I ask why they keep playing. If you’re tired of this game, go find another game that peaks your interest as much as OG Fortnite this. Fortnite is still an incredible game that is doing things no other game has. The hate it receives is so unnecessary and I feel like people need to be more appreciative. Btw this was not meant to be hate towards you in any way, I just feel like the game right now is not as appreciated as much as it should be **sorry for all my yapping. I just had to get this out of my system
Collabs are alright as long as ppl are actually happy with them like in chapter 2 everything was fine w collabs they even did a good job in the marvel season imo it was pretty fun and not a single person hated it but now were js getting the most random ass pointless collabs nobody ever asked for
On tthe Topic of what you said at 4:48 Epic did make a statement saying they done plan to increase the prices, but even then they had no reason to remove rarity all for the sake of "Simplicity" even though the UI is super unorganized.
It’s genuinely not ok what they’re doing nowadays personally, I hate the movement you can’t even escape the movement by going back to lobby because the UI is an eyesore. Now you can’t even go to your locker to change your skins because you don’t know where anything is. Everything is overpriced. The fact that every single update has been a add-on from the last one is the most stupid thing ever and so on chapter 5 is really killing the game like worse than 2021 and that’s really saying something
A skins rarity is what made unlocking legendary skins in the battle pass cool, rarities showed the price of a skin, without rarities they can upcharge prices
It’s like Fortnite is a puzzle and every time Fortnite does something like this they are removing a puzzle piece and individually it doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things but the more they do it, the more Fortnite loses its identity and I’m hoping that some things change and Fortnite can still keep its core identity. 😔
5:31 100% agree. Elsa gonna cost 25$ to 30$. Plus she was shown off A LOT in the Disney x Epic announcement video, they know she's gonna make them a ton of money. They're gonna be overcharging in general.
In my opinion, i think they heard about people talking about missing out on skins from previous seasons, and thats probably why they removed the rarity on skins because of that reason. But still a bit shady, though.
Rarity was an indicator of a price point or value of a skin. Uncommon or 800 for less detailed or less flashy skins without a back bling included, 1200 or rare for more of less the same but most have a back bling or are more detailed skins. 1500 or epic which are for skins that always have a backbling included are usually definitely worth the 1500 price tag due to them usually being highly detailed or having edit styles to choose from. And Legendary or 2000 vbucks which is set aside for truly unique skins or important characters to the storyline such as drift or the visitor. Or skins that deserve the Legendary status such as raven for example. (Also the superhero skins are 1800 because they don't include a back bling) anyway so my point is that rarity pointed out the value of a skin and having the skins sorted this way made it so much easier not only to look for skins in your locker but also to look at a skin in the item shop and kinda know what your paying for just by looking at its rarity. Where as now they can just say yup that's worth 2000 or that's worth 2500 etc.. without having to assign initial value to a skin. Take the avatar skins for example they are 2000 each and if each one is valued at an epic rarity they would only be valued at 1600 or 1800 at most (take the gia skin for example, it's an epic skins that comes with pickaxe and back bling and is only 1600) But since we can't see the rarity they can just slap 2000 on there and make us pay $20 per skin. Eh anyway just wanted to rant lmao 😂
You said it perfectly, fn is well and truly dead now. Of course, many people straight up quit after chapter 1 which I understand. But slowly but surely it's just deteriorated in quality. More and more crappy collaborations, bad storyline, more and more sweats, terrible locker UI now, and now even the core of the game, the rarity basis. Like oh dear, what a shame. Rarity background on skins looked visually pleasing to the eye when scrolling through the locker. Don’t like how you can’t tell what rarity something is anymore. They have made the game feel soulless and without personality.
What i'm saying and find it so stupid that they have background rarity for collab but not the original fortnite skin
So true
For real, they are trying so hard to make it "simplistic" but end up removing all the life from it and making it more complicated than it needs to be
For real! Plus, I used the rarities to keep track of where I was in my locker. It helped so much with organization since I could just remember the rarity and then sort through the alphabet. Now it’s just sorting through the alphabet, meaning it’ll take longer to find legendary or epic skins with names at the end of the alphabet
@@plantyt3246 returning player here and this is the problem I’m facing now.
they did this purely for money, this is just so they can put whatever price they want for skins without getting shit for it. now people can’t complain that rare skin is over 1200 vbucks theres gonna be no more standardized price.
People can still criticize skins being overpriced. Even if there’s no “standard pricing”. besides the rarity was more of an arbitrary label than anything matter of quality
Honestly I don’t think they’ll do money by recycling the same skins again and again every 3-4 days, this is just ridiculous

It’s so dumb, like why no rarities. Like honestly, now they can overprice a skin and don’t know if it’s an epic or uncommon
Nothing guarantees the prices don't change.
that's a dumb thing to say as if the worthless rarity justifies a price in the first place
Cuddle team leader and panda team leader are both 2000 vbucks. This won’t lead to sudden new overpricing cause they were doing it before for some skins
The rarities meant nothing they were just arbitrary labels. Unlike in br itself where it actually means someth to have a legendary weapon over a common
@Joovain They're obviously not going to say the prices will increase are they 🙄
I really hope that skin rarities return. Fortnite should listen to their community more. They said they would revamp the locker, and instead they de-grade it. This entire "evolution" of Fortnite is going to be the downfall of the game. I just wish Fortnite would stop pretending to be a game that they aren't.

This is exactly what happened to Roblox just after the pandemic
Don’t think br will go away anytime soon. The number of people playing are here for br and double the number over the meta stuff
@@glitzliv oh but don’t forget the new players, and the little kids migrating from Roblox.

Anime , cartoons and realistic brands needs its own rarity
Plausible- but it is an inherently disprovable theory. I hope something, anything comes from someone on why. It’s fascinating.
I agree so much with the take that Chapter 5 ruined Fortnite
Your cut, Disney's cut, and Lego's cut it adds up over time
Epic used to be known for quality clarity and communication.
Where did the old Epic go.
They were never good
I really dislike the changes recently, I've not touched the locker in months, except only changing a skin, which it's hard to browse skins when I could just look at the color and know instantly before, but now have to check manually.
It's not over reacting it's a true thing that chapter 5 ruin the game in different ways
I think this is a good change. We have mid skins from early seasons that are epic or legendary and get charged way more than actually good skins from newer seasons that are both more creative and more detailed but get sold for less.
Removing rarities from cosmetics does absolutely nothing. It changes literally nothing the only problem is the locker ui is trash.
They do this for no reason, this makes it harder for my friends and I to put in the same skin

- Goodbye Rarity
- Welcome overprice skins and bundles
Btw this was not meant to be hate towards you in any way, I just feel like the game right now is not as appreciated as much as it should be

Soon Epic gonna sell all there stakes in Fortnite to Disney & it’s gonnna be a totally different game. It already feels so different, I lost interest
The ui is so bad now, its like they are actively trying to look like a cheap mobile game

Lets make them bring back rarities like how we made them almost remove skin censoring
Br ain’t going nowhere, you’ll still be able to play “the game you’ve been playing the past 4 chapters.” You’ll just have other shit to play along side it
Only those who remember Rarities can only tell what kind of skins they are, in the shop. Based on prices...... but not anymore from now on
Anytime I’m on Fortnite now and I decide to change my skin I don’t have a fun time especially if you have over 300 skins
Epic Games, Respawn, and Blizzard are in a competition of who can ruin their game the fastest.

There's absolutely nothing we can say, I'm as speechless as you are. The game is so cooked, I'm done with it, I uninstalled it a couple hours ago. I can't take it, and the fact there's people out there on twitter that are defending this shit of a decision is insane to me. It's unfortunate the game had to be like this now : /
Yeah, that’s pretty annoying. Especially because they’re selling skins that don’t even look good for 2000 vbucks. It’s understandable for a skin with a pickaxe to be like 1800, but this update is stupid. They have to reduce the skin prices now, otherwise that’s just gonna be a scam and unfair.
why did fortnite do this

They were mad about us complaining about the locker not having the colors of rarity on the previews and decided to remove the whole feature altogether
Perhaps if Epic had better communication skills, they could’ve told us in advance that they were planning to change the Locker UI. Everything just looks messy and mixed up, and not one person likes it.
They will never ask for community input because they know what the result will be. Their motto is, "Do something, and only walk it back if there is enough outrage and backlash".
When games like League of legends start to hear to their community while Fortnite doesn't you know you're doing things terrible.
