I know this isn’t a 25 tips for 25 years in the same structure as the old ones, but I have missed these. We’re only a few weeks apart in age and I’ve followed you from the beginning, so to see this and be able to reflect on my own journey and healing is very cool. At 15 I also had a rough home life and was no where close to being out, but now 10 years later I live in a happy home with my wife and our (7 year old) puppy. These last 10 years look good on us my friend. Here’s to an equally amazing next 10 years, and of course happy birthday Alexis! 🎉

quite literally 3 days ago on of my coworkers said “zall good dude” not thinking anything of it but that sent me into a brain spiral. i sat at work thinking about how much i used to love watching your videos, a forgotten gem of MY childhood and i wondered about you, today this pops up on my feed (from 3 days ago!!) your wisdom and growth is something so beautiful and the way you’ve used your creativity and intuition as an outlet to metaphorically time travel is so admirable. if it’s not cheesy to say, i needed this video for my inner child too

25 was the hardest year for me. I cried all the time. Life was great but I always felt on the verge of breaking down. I just turned 30 on June 3rd. It’s changed so much even in those five years. I just don’t care so much anymore and it’s quite a relief. It’s been crazy to watch you grow up as well. Hope you enjoy the rest of your twenties!

It might sound too extreme but this video changed my outlook on life a bit. Seeing how emotional and happy it made you to see your younger self, who I see so much of MY younger self in. It just made me really look forward to living for older me. I’m about to turn 19 and this is the first time in a while I’ve been excited to live for who I’ll be when I look back. I’m 10 years older than you, but watched your videos back then because you reminded me of my youngest sister. I also had an incredibly difficult home life and my sister was kept from speaking to me. Your cute little videos gave me comfort. I just wanted to protect you and pray that you grew up to feel empowered and strong!
I remember watching that video when it first came out. I remember watching you as a child, a literal child, and realizing now that I was a child too. Ten years is...... so different and much longer than I thought.
People say time flys. I believe it’s only if you aren’t taking the time for yourself to reminisce about the good and the bad. Love you random person !

wow is this ever nostalgic. i’ve been watching you for about 9 years now and it really does feel like i grew up with you (I recently turned 26). we’ve been through similar life experiences and it’s been such a comforting thing to watch you heal and grow into who you are today as i have healed and grown into who i am alongside you. it might not have been easy and our childhood selves deserved better, but we are both still here and we are both okay. and that is a beautiful thing. happy birthday alexis, and thank you.
Came across snippet of a video of yours on Facebook and decided to watch a recent one here on RUclips, just because it felt nostalgic. I've been watching your videos in high school when things weren't always great, and watching how you were so kind with younger self makes me cry because all I remember is always being hard to myself even up until now. If we could be as kind to ourselves as you are to yourself 💛 This inspired me and I'm grateful I came across that snippet because it led me to watch this. I discovered you in the SD era and haven't kept up with you since but watching this makes me wish I had. You had me crying a bit, thinking of my younger self. I just turned 30 and that's a trip, just wait. Also just got dumped by my gf of almost 9 years... thanks for sharing. It was very human. Makes me wish I had done something like this myself.

Happy Birthday! I just turned 24 a little over a month ago and even thinking about who I was 10 years ago makes me entirely too emotional. Who I was then walked so who I am now could run and I’m so appreciative. Thanks for showing us your transformation, and honestly I am NOT looking forward to talking about these feelings with my therapist lol.

I go back to these videos often when I'm feeling lost in my life. I grew up on your videos, and have now seen your short film at the BFI queer film festival. Seeing your growth makes me so excited to do the same myself. I think I'm right in the middle of that complicated not-knowing-yourself early twenties, and these videos make me feel hopeful for being more assured and proud of myself in the future. I hope they do the same for others. I'm sure they do.
This may sound crazy, but this video just gave me motivation juice to stay for the next ten years and see what youre up to

Its always been really lovely to check back in here with you. to see where you are. I checked back when I realized Im gay - only a year or two after you told us
and as somebody who's home life was also really really difficult, getting to witness you talking to your younger self is also really healing for my own inner child. Definitely considering sitting down with my younger self when I no longer am sick with COVID

I also love therapy and find it to be priceless and absolutely necessary for my ability to heal from the shit I went through in my life.
One of the therapists I saw recently walked me through a few forms of meditation, and there was one about putting my hand on my chest over my heart and visualizing breathing into my heart while thinking of something “that makes you smile” and I felt panic, and broke into tears and struggled to breath until we moved onto the next method.
In reflect I was in a very vulnerable state, and I have a lot of emotional scar tissue around my heart, so it felt scary to ask my deep heart space to let air fill the hallways.
This video touched that place in my heart too, and I can tell it’s from the need to continue airing out that heart space.
Thank you for being you. I’m so happy to hear you’re healing and reaching deeper acceptance within yourself. May we all find our way through along the way. ✨🖤

It's that you *are* present, living in your body, just as you said. That presence is visible through a lens and across a country, so it's pretty radiant, that living-in-the-body thing. ...I was taken aback by hearing that you have been with your girlfriend for 6 years: from the ages of 19 to 25 - that's a period of so many changes; being together through all of those is quite unusual, I think!
