This guide is meant for friends with only 1 or 2 characters who aren't familiar with the options a new alt has to get it's burrowed power up to speed. This guide is also not the cheapest way by any means to gear up your alt, but it's the method I''ve been using for the last year and as you can see by the end of the video the toon I was gearing up at the start is already tanking +18s just a couple days later!
Lemme know if you have any other methods/systems you use to get your own alts ready that may be faster than this.

Season 4 (9.2.7) of Shadowlands brings new mythic plus dungeons: Tazavesh, Grimrail Depot, Iron Docks, Karazhan and Mechagon.
Also arriving is the Fated raid system, play all 3 Shadowlands raids: Castle Nathria, Sanctum of Domination & Sepulcher of the First Ones at pretty much the same time throughout the season, with their drops and bosses scaled up with new Fated affxes

It’s also SUPER HELPFUL if you have friends who can carry you through M0s because they give 262 gear that. I ran 4 with a leather stack with my friends and had a monk at 262 IL in an hour. Patch is pretty alt friendly, have fun :)
just get the 226/236 gear and spam 2+ keys for valor enough high people come to turbo carry you through and also trade items
I usually never make alts, but I've been playing as a VDH and decided to try a BDK to see what all the hubbub was about. All weekend I've been trying to figure out how to get him up to par, I wish I found this video sooner! But, you just showed me there's a shortcut to getting your 4-set, so I'm logging on now to go get it! Thanks for the great video!
Doh! Looks like I deleted all my Sandworn Relics! I put in a ticket to try and get them back... fingers crossed!

When you unlock the mission table in your sanctum don't do the quests for every follower. Just use xp boosts to level a couple of them and the generic troops will be at the average level so lower quests are much easier.
For anyone having issues at Tal-Inara (skipping to Zereth Mortis). I had to go back to the FATE guys and choose to skip the storyline (type FATE). That opened everything up for me.
I would unlock soulbind first because soulbind+conduits make a big difference and speed up fighting mobs while looting treasures. In addition you need to unlock your soulbind in order to unlock the runecarver. As a tip, buy and use the renown boost to 60 as soon as possible. The extra stamina from certain renown levels make leveling easier and while leveling you get more renown. So once you hit lvl60 you're already at 80 renown.
And then all your soulbinds will be unlocked also when you reach lvl 60 with renown 79 or 80. Even "Emeni" for Necrolords is unlocked without having to do the questline to open her.

If you have enough Cosmic Flux to spend you can buy "Vessel of Profound Possibilities" from any of the covenant quartermasters in Oribos which sets all your conduits to lvl 278. There is no restrictions to buy it and it can be used on a fresh lvl 60 toon. You don't need any conduits at all in order to use the "Vessel of..." It costs 10k CF to buy it. You need to send the CF to the toon that wants the conduits as the "Vessel of....." is BoP. Saves you 200G I think.
It's not at the covenant quartermaster. It's at your covenant's rep vendor.
Undying Army, Ascended, Wild Hunt, Court of Harvesters
You need to go to your covenants sanctum, soul bind and they send you back to Bolvar, then you can skip the covenants campaign to unlock runecsrving, so it’s not possible to craft your legendarios after skipping to ZM
Verry good. Only forgot to tell that you get 226 conduits from zereth Mortis vendor when hit Friendly which will happen automatically if you do all one-time treasures and the worldboss + some rares.
Ah yea fair point! I typically just yoink the 10k flux item within the first few days of playing the toon so I totally forgot about item :D
To buy the ash and cinders in Korthia you have to have completed Torghast 9th layer.
You can get full 226 ilvl easy in about 20 min. Step 1- Buy 3 of the 60 renown boosts and ONE 200 con upgrade then swap to all the covs and boost them to 60 (youll get 1k anima per cov you boost) Step 2- Go to ZM and loot the one time chests that give the gear 100% of the time. Step 3- Then go to the vendor in ZM and fill all other slots with 226. you can also kill the world boss in ZM for the 250ilvl and each week the one that is faited for the 285ilvl gear. after you do this i would finish the Patterns quest and then buy the other con upgrade from the ZM rep vendor (if you have a lot of cosmic flux you can buy full 278 con from your cov hall for 10k flux). Oh and if you can get the 262 crafted SL gear that has a chance to inc primary stat i would (the rings on my server are around 2k so def worth the gold)
What if you have done every campaign on 1 character except zereth, an then zereth campaign (fully) on a different character?
Should be good to go, I've not played the same character for more than 1 patch this expansion and I've never ran into any issues.
I leveled a toon in bgs when there was double xp. I had 15000 honor and bought full aspirant gear and with war mode on that’s 268 ilvl as soon as I dinged 60. Not as fast but for a more casual player this was the easiest option for me

Their is a 226 gear vendor for 500 anima per slot, you can save some gold using it.
Just get a +2 key and get carried by people farming valor
step 2:23 i didnt get reown 80 on my new evoker? what am I missing. I have completed all campaign on my main ofc.
I'll double check in game for you when I get home later, but Evoker's have been sorta band-aid added into the covenant system so I expect many things not to work with them as covenants will become obsolete in about 10 days. Just keep in mind that renown item takes you to renown 60 not 80. But again, evoker's may just be bugged
what addons do you have to show what items/currencies on other accounts?
The one in the tooltips and currency page is Altholic
And I use SavedInstances to see my characters keys done for the week
i made a new alt, i found out that my torghast isn't unlocked, is that normal or did i miss something? i noticed u had it unlocked on your video.
So I have been hearing this and here’s what to try, go to your covenant and skip the intro and click your soulbinds then go back to bolvar in oribos (or whichever NPC is there) and skip something else there as well.
Or, skip to korthia after from bolvar and then run back to oribos and see if another skip has appeared.
One of these should work, if he wasn’t unlocked immediately for ya

i got 12 characters prepped for m+, i did mostly the same stuff, except i had 5k sandworn relics, so my life was somewhat easier

It’s a lot for sure. If you don’t have an alt going thru the linear campaign is super chill and a lot slower. But they added these alt things in as band-aids to make up for initially poor game mechanics.
Definitely a different game now tho, will take some getting used to but I’m here to help :-)
I'm unable to get the quest Patterns within Patterns from Bolvar in ZM, is there a pre req for this quest?
The prereq is completing the intro to ZM, but thats what the skip enables you to do. Other than that, maybe you already have it but its hidden within your quest log?

Maybe it fixes itself with the weekly reset today? Other than that I'm not sure I've not ran into this issue myself nor had anyone else report it
Wanna gear an alt and you aren't on a budget? Buy 7 boe's and have 280 ilvl instant :D It'll cost you 5-10 mil gold but its very fast

sorry, youtube didnt notify me of this comment! you need a campaign done in a covenant to skip that campaign in the same covenant. so if your main does venthyr campaign, alts can skip venthyr campaign but alts cannot skip nightfae/necro/bastion

I strongly recommend doing world boss + patterns to get them, if you do it on 2 characters you can get one piece immediately. However I personally wait until I can get all 4 tier slots before rolling an alt. That way I get to roll a new alt every 2-3 weeks.
The goal in this video is to showcase using all the shadowlands alt/account-wide systems to go as fast as possible. If you absolutely don’t wanna farm relics you’ll just have to manually loot piece and convert them but it’ll take a very long time if your luck is bad.
No mention of story skips 9.0, 9.1, and 9.2 stories?
The covenant is 9.0 and Zerath Mortis is 9.2, the dialogue options are the skips
@@martinzi3002 also 1 from 9.1 for the korthia skip... the 3 skips allow you to skip the 1st 3 stories of wach chapter... which includes all 3 soulbinds,, korthia and zm unlocked
@@poshment5435 Korthia isn’t needed on a new character unless you plan on sending materials to an alt in which case that character isn’t a new character. My windwalker has no progress in chains of domination quest line, but has already skipped to Zereth Mortis.

Also he doesn't mention the skip when talking about soulbinds. Infwct he says you will have to go unlock them. I know guildies that didn't know of the skip cuz after you get the cov quest, you turn back and talk to same guy to do the skip. It's not an option at 1st

Good video, but unless you are doing keys with a 5 man premade, there's no way you're getting invited to any keys with 250 ilvl.
If you can't just list your own group, then queue LFR and get some gear that way. But I just list my own keys and gear that way, low key don't like entering the raid unless I have to.
Spot on guide for most, but dnt waste your flux on 246 tier, just run with them, no huge difference as you will be doing low content anyway with that gear, then once you get 262+ from new m+ dungeons you can use flux to get tier.
that's definitely a strat, but if you're rolling an MM hunter, shadowpriest, blood dk or similar classes with high influence tier i still think its worth using relic pieces for tier. They buffed cosmic flux drops so odds are you'll get the flux before you get the tier pieces to drop, at least this has been the case in my experience.

You wanna gear an alt? Get a mythic 2 key and post for a carry. EVERYONE is farming Valor right now. My non geared alts are being carried by 297's consistantly
That for sure works, but once I have my toon at 250-something I just start running my own keys for gear. This is just a method to get to that 250-ish as fast as possible. But that's a good strat tho, I been joining lots of people's +2s for valor myself hehe

If it wasnt for the legendaries, this would be a nice patch to make alts, but having to spend as much gold as 2 legendaries per character is a no no for me.
Its only like 40-50k though. thats dirt cheap.
It’s not too bad tho, mission tables earn enough to fund your entire experience and/or callings + the reservoir quest also do that same
You don't have to go for 291 pieces if it's really that big of a deal.
