this is probably the most positive, sweet Meg episode. no one really shat on Meg like usual, Peter and the baby together was a funny cute little scene, and it was just all around kind of a wholesome episode. i really hope they raise this baby, and it's not like how Bonnie had her kid, and then she just becomes a static model.

I think maybe they should have made Meg's pregnancy a whole season, or at least halfway through the season she has the baby. For the rest of the season have her raise the baby until the season finale have Bruce and Jeffrey take their baby. That was an amazing character arc for meg. She's very possesive (I.E. when she "fell in love" with Brian and Joe) and is very aggressive in her pursuit of someone when she gets attached. So the fact that she told her baby's fathers to stay away makes perfect sense in her character. And when she realised that as much as she loved being a mother, she didn't have this baby for herself, but for her friend and gave her back without a fight.
And seeing Louis and Peter bond with the baby and Louis scolding Bruce when she thought he abandoned his child and even being protective of Meg and caring for her was fantastic for their arcs as well. I'm really hoping season 22 brings the family closer to being an actual family rather than a group of people who constantly abuse each other

If that kid indeed becomes the new Doug, I wonder why they got rid of him, just to replace him with another rival so quickly.
I also love how Meg is becoming her own character. I like how, even though characters don’t really age, Meg isn’t shown in school much anymore, really showing us she is older. This was definitely one of the better episodes of Family Guy they went into a lot of different and interesting subjects
Bruce and Meg are more than just friends, they almost got married at one point.
They went into a subject, that is somewhat questionable but is becoming more and more common in today's society.
Surrogacy and the effects of what happens after the baby is born.
In this episode, we are led to believe, this is Meg's first child, but if you are a fan of the series, you will remember Meg's other baby, that was kept in her locker at school.
There's also internet rumors, believing that Stewie Meg's brother, could also be Meg's biological child.

I have always loved Meg as a character on the show even when she was the punching bag of the show and I am very glad to see that the writers have stopped treating her poorly.

When I came across this video I was surprised. I never thought Meg would have her own baby due to the show's insistance on keeping a status quo and I thought the pregnancy would be false like in the episode "Peter's Daughter" but I'm happy to see that my assumptions were wrong.
Even though Meg doesn't get to keep the baby, the scenes where she does take care of it are really sweet.

5:18 Funny you mention that, as someone commented on one of the baby-centred episodes of _ALF_ that any time a baby is introduced on a show, that means the show is going to end soon.

This is a great way to explore the Griffin and pedestmit family tree too, Bruce and Jeffrey can have a problem with the baby that is genetic, so it leads to a history episode.
I hope Meg is allowed to be in the babies life, maybe shes Aunty Meg, could always have a flash forward where the baby now an adult sees her every christmas, heck would be fun to have Meg become a surrogate for more couples so in that same flash forward instead of spending christmas with her parents she has a day with all her kids and parents giving her a nickname.
It opens up a lot of story opportunies while being able to reset the status quo at the end of an episode because the baby can always go home, Meg can grow and still live with her parents.

I wish Doug would come back like a grizzled war veteran with a scar and epic backstory leading to an epic fight like the old Bertram fights.
Alternate idea, Bertram from another universe where he succeeded in killing Stewie comes, leading to a time break where Doug and a bunch of other dead characters return, at least temporarily. Horace, Diane, Muriel, Loretta, maybe throw in Stewie's twin brother that died in the womb and New Brian so Brian has a fight.

My only critism with this episode is I kinda wish Meg being progressively more pregnant was a background gag during Season 21 that got paid off now. Just whenever they'd show Meg, she'd be progressively more pregnant. It would totally work in the dynamic of the family with no one noticing or caring.

In "Road to the North Pole", there is a song in which all the citizens of Quahog sing about what they want for Christmas. Bruce sings "I just want a wedding ring from someone named Jeffery." I'm glad we're finally seeing some payoff from that.

I find it kinda interesting how they not only keep introducing new characters, they also have started fleshing out characters that used to be one-off gags like Bruce and Dr Hartman. If Patrick Warburton ever stops doing Joe's voice and they can't get someone else like they did for Cleveland, then I am sure they will expand on Seamus or something rather than introducing a new 4th character in the bar group.
