- I traveled to a place very near the center of the path of totality to view and capture images of the total Solar Eclipse on April 8th, 2024. I stayed at a campground in Johnson County, Nineveh, Indiana. It was an awesome experience. In this video I show both a Timelapse of the solar eclipse and some individual images, which I thought were impressive. I show them both in a more natural color and then in monochrome. So stay tuned through the entire video. Clear skies!
Here's some equipment I'm using for my setup:

This is a very well made barlow lens I've been using for visual astronomy. I found thought that this doesn't seem very compatible for astrophotography for my setup unless using the diagonal (only way to get camera focus).

Great result! Thanks for sharing.
I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Well done, Mr. Sheri!
I admire your pursuit of sky photography. Sheri took all of us quilters along on your eclipse journey and I’m happy to see your success! Thank you for all that you do behind the scenes of LessonsLearnt.
Thanks for watching and I’m glad you enjoyed it - seeing the total eclipse was an awesome experience. Regarding LessonsLearnt, Sheri is the key to her channel’s success! I just do the behind the scenes work. It’s great to see her doing something she loves.
Thanks for some beautiful footage! Can't wait to see more
Imaging the eclipse was an awesome experience! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
More to come!
Neat.
I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Have you heard of Dr. Gordon Telepun’s RUclips channel named for his Solar Eclipse Timer app? In the app he gives real-time voice tips on when to take still images for one of those “before, during and after” eclipse series. Did your eclipse view look exactly like that with the triangular solar prominence in the “3 o’clock” position? From where I saw it (farther east in Vermont), it was more like the “6 o’clock position.”
I hadn't heard of his channel/video and will have to check it out. I'm guessing my camera rotation is the reason for the difference in what you saw from your location and mine. On this telescope (Skywatcher Evostar 100 ED APO Refractor), I don't have a camera rotator.
@@marksastrojourney Thank you for the reply. If you have a gab or Twitter or GETTR handle or email address listed in your profile here, I could share my eclipse link collection location with you. It seems if I put the direct info to that in a reply here it gets auto deleted.
The channel profile includes my email address: marksastrojourney@gmail.com. I don't have Twitter or Gettr.
