@@phillyfan-182 the people writing the jokes are white. The guy doing the voice is white. The people laughing at the jokes are white. Indian people are the ones who say they are offended. And white people are telling them to have a sense of humor. White people are the ones complaining that Apu is gone.
There were three Indian kids at my middle school. They got Apu jokes thrown at them all the time. By white kids. It continued in high school. When one of them asked a white girl to prom, the white girl made fun of him and told everyone Apu asked her out.
But go ahead and dismiss it as cancel culture. Because that’s just white people complaining that they can’t be racist and/or they couldn’t possibly be racist because they have that one black or brown friend who said it was okay
