Fun Fact: Disney’s “Steam Boat Whillie” short is most often credited as the first cartoon to incorporate song and sound in cartoons, but it was actually Max Fleischer (of Fleischer Studios) who did it first. Disney was just too much of an overwhelming opponent for the east coast company to take on and win against.

I like the latter. Since not only is it satirizing Alladin, but David Guestta is voicing the Genie. Which is more funny considering he voiced him in Return of Jafar and in the t.v. series.

For everybody who quit watching Disney on Sunday night because they moved *The Simpsons* to that night, this is payback. At the time, The Disney Channel was showing classic Disney movies at 7 PM just like NBC and ABC used to. A year later, Disney bought ABC and brought the Disney show back to network TV. *The Simpsons* still beat it but they still trailed behind whatever CBS replaced *Murder, She Wrote* with.
Fox must _really_ hate Disney even more since they've gotten greedy... My kind of people.

Ahhh, "Itchy and Scratchy Land' is still one of my top favorite episodes, ever since I was a kid and it premiered (I was almost 6 years old when it first aired.)

I had a feeling Kimba was going to be number 1, seeing Disney didn’t know that Osamu Tezuka created Kimba the White Lion before Disney created Lion King
Its been debated for years about those two, sure they're similar but they're not the same, get with the program.
Tezuka productions can’t be acquired by the Disney company for two main reasons. One: it’s illegal to have a monopoly in USA. Two: the Japanese people are not fans of lawsuits.
Actually in Japan, Kimba was called Leo.
Simba was based on Shakespeare’s hamlet, whereas Kimba or Leo was an original.

Suing for using "happiest place on earth" I wouldn't put it past Disney to do that. They wouldn't let a grieving dad put Spiderman on his sons grave.
They once sued a daycare center for painting Disney characters on the walls. I can't remember if it was Warner Brothers or Hanna-Barbera, but one of those two studios heard about the incident and let the daycare center put their characters all over the place for free.

Thank you for including the jet turbine ending of the Mary Poppins parody.
They turned the character into a hideous, maudlin drunken wreck, and then they killed her. Seems kind of misogynistic to me. Maggie Roswell, who is also in the 1980 Disney film *Midnight Madness* with Michael J. Fox and the late, great Paul Reubens, was her voice artist. That was a warning shot to her. Three years later, they killed off her primary character, Maude Flanders, after she quit over a salary dispute. Doing the show was costing her money. She had no money left over after commuting between LA and Denver, and she didn’t want to move there. All of the excuses Fox gave her were bullshit, and even replacing her with Marsha Mitzman Gaven did not necessitate killing Maude. They settled with her, but they settled too late, and now the character of Maude is limited to flashbacks and Halloween specials.

It’s Lisa who’s the biggest sellout here. She went from being the girl who yelled “I am tired of being a corporate shill” and knocked over a giant carton of Laramie cigarettes on Menthol Moose to being Shilly Winters.
We got a bill of no sale right here from this longtime Simpsons fan. Don’t get me wrong; there is still good Simpsons content being created. None of it airs Sunday night at 8 PM on Fox.

That episode was the beginning of the end for the show. Establishing the idea that fantasy and fancy can exist or take place in non-THOH episodes set a dangerous precedent. Instead, “The Principal and the Pauper” gets the blame for what was already in progress when there were still funny episodes for a few years after that. They probably thought they’d be canceled soon as Fox had pulled the plug on *Married with Children* after an 11th season that moved it to multiple new time slots. That’s why I quit watching that show: I couldn’t find it anymore! That is a sure fire sign that your favorite show is about to be canceled. See also: ABC’s *Dinosaurs.*

It's kinda creepy that The Simpsons spent so many years joking about Disney only to have Fox be -assimilated- bought out by them in the future.
I remember back in '05 KTV Fox 11,made a top 10 Simpsoms episodes that were voted by the viewers. #1 was Itchy and Scratchy Land esipode.
That was a great episode. The episodes making fun of theme parks were always good for a few laughs. I especially like how they turned this Itchy and Scratchy Land itself into a sordid cross between Disneyland and Jurassic Park.
And I often find myself quoting the line “my last paycheck bounced! My children need wine!“ when seeing how Disney itself has gone to utter shit. They have pissed away so much consumer goodwill that it took them decades to build up, people would rather see glorified toy commercials disguised as movies instead of anything they make, even if it isn’t eye-gougingly terrible. They may actually get to that point yet, and when they do, then you can call it a *Simpsons* prediction.
