I would add ziplock bags. They’re see through so they’re good getting through TSA or bag check at the parks, they’re good for putting your electronic devices in on water rides and for separating wet and dry stuff in your backpack.
Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray is a must for makeup wearers, nothing on your face will budge even through rain and summer sweating. It’s my HG product in the parks
It’s my HG period! Working out on lunch breaks, our local theme park and zoo in the summer which we have season passes for. It will be in my park carry on when we go to Disney, it’s the best!!
Larsa Wy For real! Here in NYC it can get just as hot and humid as FL in the summer months and that spray has come through lol. I don’t even need primers when I use it.
Feminine hygiene products. Even if you aren't expecting to need these during your stay, sometimes your body just freaks out on you and you go off schedule. They do sell stuff at the gift shop but if you have a particular brand/style you like, just bring some extra.
Not every woman will like it, but I find that period panties and menstrual cups are my best friend! There is nothing worse than walking to find a bathroom with a soaked pad or tampon in 85 degree weather, only to have to wait for the bathroom. Both can be found on Amazon and I use the Diva cup when traveling. I have a fairly heavy flow but I typically use a cup 3 out of 7 days and empty it 2 to 3 times a day. As a side note, ask if your hotel offers Amazon deliveries: if you're an Amazon prime member, you can have things you forgot sent either the same day, next day, or in 2 days. Even if you don't use a cup, period panties will soak up the leaks and you can save your regular underwear!
It also occurs to me, if you have a daughter who isn't menstruating yet, but is 10-12 years old? Packing something for her is probably a good idea. A girl's first period is traumatic enough, now imagine if it happens unexpectedly in the middle of a WDW trip ...!
people who live in colder places really underestimate the cold in Florida. They hear 50 degrees as a high in winter and it sounds warm to them, but I live in Wyoming and I can tell you that 50 degrees in Florida feels a LOT colder than 50 degrees here!
Indeed. I went to baseball spring training one year and at the start of a game, an announcer said. "Welcome to the coldest 60 degree day you'll ever have." Especially if you're in shorts!
It’s so odd I felt completely opposite. It was 55 when I was there and I was in yoga pants and a short sleeve shirt and was only a little chilly. When it’s 55 in the winter in my state I have to wear jeans and a hoodie or jacket.
DONT FORGET YOUR TICKETS!! We went to my cousins house by fort Myers and we were discussing what the morning ahead was going to be like and someone brought up the tickets. We all assumed another person packed it until that moment when we looked around the room and realized no one said they did! Being over 1000 miles away without your park tickets is super stressful. THANK GOODNESS Disney accepted photos of our cards that I had on my phone. Make sure all of you take pictures of your passes in case you are like me.
I have a travel pack of: Antibacterial Wet Ones, Plain Wet Ones, Clorox Wipes and flushable wipes in my purse AT ALL TIMES. They’re flat packages so they take up very little room but I’ve got four kids and I won’t leave home without em!!
One other thing we bring is the packets of Gatorade powder. Drinks outside of the meal plan during the day are expensive (unless you pay for the refillable cup, and it does what you need). Otherwise, especially if you have hydration issues, (in our case, a family member who passes out from electrolyte imbalance) or have several smaller family members for whom you’d have to carry a bunch of heavy juice boxes/drink bottles around all day, it is a lot easier and cheaper to pack a few powder packets of Gatorade (or Crystal Lite, Propel, orange juice, Hawaiian Punch, etc.) and empty, reusable H20 bottles. Get free water or ice cups from a Cast Member or Quick Serve stand, (or water fountain- usually near a restroom) and mix with your packets when you need!
The checklist on my iPhone is the greatest packing tip I’ve ever gotten I had no idea I could do this my iPhone!!! Packing for this years trip is going to be so much easier!!! Thanks Aj!!!!
Omg, I did already have a notepad list on my iphone with different categories/locations. I had no idea about the checklist feature either, best tip ever! pretty sure i almost always forget to check it when packing, but there's always next trip.....
Good cushioned socks! I’ve learned even the most comfortable tennis shoes will feel horrible fast if you are not wearing the proper socks. Thanks for the video!!❤️❤️
Yes on the brush! I forgot mine one year and that's all we could find at the time was the tiny little kids brush! I always make sure to have one packed before the morning of our flight now!
Along with extra shoes for rainy times or wet rides, bring a small trash bag to put them in when you change into dry ones. It will keep the rest of the items in your bag from getting soggy.
To those who keep saying "my phone will do fine," your phone can fail any time. My camera crapped out on the last day but I had my Nikon SLR knockoff and it kept me going.
Went with friends a few years ago. Forgot to pack underwear! Thankfully my buddy packed a brand new pack of clothes so i borrowed a pair and constantly did laundry
My favorite "gotta bring" - rubber shoe covers. They roll up small for a small backpack. Perfect paired with a portable umbrella when the rain starts. Shoes -and socks! - will stay dry. Also, GLIDE stick to avoid rashes while walking miles and miles in the parks. My necessity I forgot - cord for cell phone battery pack . Cell phones are a necessity in WDW. The battery will die. Have a portable battery pack. The charging rods are nice, but may not be where you need them when you are ready to exchange, so, bring your own. Also, for on board planes, ear buds. I just leave them in my carry on now.
Perfect list, but would add this: we left our stroller outside while we went thru the line and on a ride (40 minutes). By the time we came out, there had been a rain squall and the stroller was soaking wet. Had to carry child for 6 more hours. . .so STROLLER COVER !! can be a $1. poncho (but another time, the wind blew it to the side and again stroller got wet.) Also, children's products for colds, headaches, etc.
Yes! We went to Disney (in Florida) a couple years ago and we packed shorts and short sleeve shirts, and then it hit 50 degrees the week we were there! 😂 We ended up rushing to the nearest store and buying hoodies that stay in our "Disney Bags". When we asked the lady at the check-in desk where we could find some cheap-y hoodies or jackets because we didn't think to pack them, she laughed and said that it's not uncommon for people to not think about bringing a hoodie because they don't think it'll be cold or chilly. Definitely going to use these for our trip in a few weeks, too!
I hate water rides but When my husband decided to go on one without me, he was so thankful that I kept a clean dry pair of socks for him in my bag! He thought I was magic and it helped him not get blisters!!!
And don't forget. If you have Amazon Prime, you can order some stuff for next day or same day delivery to the hotel. Just check the items before placing the order. Last trip we used them to order food to fix in the room. For 5 of us that saved money.
I noticed that MCO has started selling Hi-Chews where gum should be. It’s a great product and I highly recommend it. It was designed in a country where taking food out of your mouth (which gum qualifies) is very taboo. You basically chew it until it’s either gone or you’ve decided to swallow it, because it’s delicious candy.
I stayed in All Star Sports and didn’t bring my USB charging bricks because I thought it would be like other Disney resorts that had USB ports in the outlets / walls. All Star Sports does not have that USB port luxury (unlike other resorts I’ve stayed in like Riviera and Port Orleans), so make sure you bring charging bricks for those cables just in case.
Underwear: I use ExOfficio underwear for backpacking trips. The breathable and wicking material is perfect for grueling backpacking trips when bathing and washing are unlikely to happen. It turns out, ExOfficio underwear has become my go-to for travel as well. It packs light and small, and it can be washed and dried easily in the bathroom in your hotel room. Seems a perfect match for Disney World as well.
You can get most of these supplies at the Walmart that's not too far off property. There's been times where I've forgotten certain things like deodorant, small things like that. I took a Lyft to Walmart, brought what I needed and was cool the rest of my vacation.
I've enjoyed visiting WDW around 6x's or so. Starting with being a band chaperon a couple of times in the mid-80's, one honeymoon 93', 2-3x's during the mid-06/10's. I don't recall more than a couple of short afternoon showers. We did visit one time (from Wis.) right after Christmas. We were glad to experience the holiday decorations, very lush and festive (including some "coldish" temperatures, during the marathon etc. runs in January). For us, only good memories!
The running list of vacation essential is a great tip. I started one for Disney a few years back and its grown with new additions and been useful for any other theme park I’ve visited. Just keep the list in your phone or a paper list with your unforgettable vacation/theme park gear 😉
I was just packing last night for our next trip, so very glad that you posted this as I hadn't even thought of packing my dry shampoo which is a life saver! We are also having to pack so many extra clothes as the weather is going to be much colder than we first thought. We are packing extra shoes for everyone as they do get soaked when it rains. Thanks for the tip on moleskin being sold in the parks. That one may come in handy!
You can also give your airline baggage claim tickets to the magical express attendants and they’ll pull your luggage. We forgot our yellow tags one time and did that. It worked just great!
I always try to bring my own towel for showering, because the ones in the resorts are a bit small and don't fit. I like my big towel to dry off with. Underwear are the first things that go in my suitcase and I always bring extra of those and socks. And I actually like the ponchos they sell there. Yes they can be expensive but if you remember to bring them back they are a pretty good deal. They keep me dry.
I always have a medium size clear plastic bag in my backpack & small clip to put over my backpack on water rides. Hotel room trash bags are a great size. My husband brings a small water proof bag for the camera one you would use say kayaking, it rolls down and clips shut.
Thanks for the iPhone Checklist Tip!! Didn't know I could do that!! I wear my comfortable Crocs (no socks) to the Parks! They dry quickly after water and are comfy to me! I switch to my well worn, ultra comfy pair back at the hotel!!
The most important things you need to make sure you bring are anything that cannot be easily replaced. You touched on prescription glasses or contacts. Add to that any medical or dental devices that you use or wear such as a nighttime mouthguard, retainer, knee brace etc. Don't forget prescription medications, especially anything that needs to be compounded. I have a Disney packing list that I've been printing, editing and keeping updated for over 20 years! Highlight those items on the list. Also, hairbrush. Did you know you can get a good brush at the spa on Disney property? My favorite one came from the GF spa. I have extremely curly hair, so the average comb or brush won't go through my hair.
I keep a brush/comb and toothbrushes packed in a suitcase all the time. These are good things to remember-as I've forgotten several of these over the years.
If you forget your glasses and really really need a pair, the Walmart not too far from property has an optical department that can have prescription glasses ready in an hour!
Great video! Thanks DFB team! I need that adorable Mickey rain slicker!! Always with me.... Dr. Scholls “blister defense” stick!! A new shoe must have! Also good for any areas that may chafe... small and easy to throw in a park bag!
Definitely bring an extra pair of sunglasses and shoes. I’ve had sunglasses break before and you don’t want to have to buy an expensive pair if you need them. And an extra pair of sneakers is very important. Once I got stuck in a downpour (as I’m sure most of us have) and my shoes were still drenched the next day. Also, I swear by ziploc bags. You can put your phone in them on water rides, use them to organize your bag, keep hand sanitizer inside of it in case it leaks, put wet clothes in it when having to pack your suitcase to go home, etc. I always bring 3-4 of gallon, quart, and snack bags and I ALWAYS end up using all of them.
Bring a pair of shoes that water runs through (even dollar store flip flops) for going on water rides or if it's raining. Feet dry but walking around in soggy socks is miserable and blister-inducing.
This is why I live in my chacos all supper long. They are comfy and waterproof. Also they are meant for hiking and outdoor activities so they are perfect for walking all day in all summer weather.
Made a list, the plan is to have everything packed the night before. On the list, in the bag, night before. Tooth brushes are cheap, so just getting new ones for everyone, they'll go in the bag no having to remember to pack it at 4am when we are rushing out the door. A few bucks is worth not having to pack anything at the last minute.
This was timely.... I started my packing list this weekend and this had some things I had forgotten to put on the list, and triggered thoughts of other things. :)
I learned the hard way, first time to disney world as an adult didn't bring any rain gear that sucked...this time when I went was prepared and luckily it only rained once lightly in the morning but I was prepared and stayed dry while enjoying low crowds!
If the hotel room has a hairdryer, you can use that to quick-dry your tennis shoes after unexpected rain. On my last trip I had to step in quite a few puddles and soaked my sneakers. Went to the hotel, ran the blow dryer in them for 15-20 minutes, they were dry and warm and I was able to go back out and be fine for the rest of the day!
For my lists (packing, shopping, to-do, etc) I tried various ones over the years (Microsoft, Evernote, Google) but all fell short. Now I use Simplenote. It's free and replicates across all my devices - 2 Android and a PC (Does Apple too). Replication isn't always 100% but it's been a boon to me.
Don't forget the usb cables for charging devices and phones. Bring extra or order them from Amazon to deliver to the hotel for cheap. I had two cords on the same trip damaged by accidentally dropping my phone and tablet and they landed on the cord breaking the plug and luckily not the jack.
Went to Disney world when hurricane Matthew was coming in and I was in Florida when Matthew came to shore and learned the hard way about rain gear and layers. and no we did not intentionally go when there was a hurricane lol and I've been there plenty of times and still have forgotten about rain gear and I'm from Wyoming so I know layers real well
have fun! be sure to write down everything you want to do so that you don't forget to do. i forgot i wanted to get beignets back in december, so now i have to wait for my next trip.
We left for WDW 01-18-20. I watched every weather report I could before I packed. I decided to leave my heavier winter clothing behind. Bad more! The weather was 20° colder than the forecast! I wore so many layers in the park each day! Never again!
PREACH to the waterproof makeup! Not something you think you need but personally my eyes water on rides a lot because of the change from dark to bright sunlight and I would be a mess if I didn't wear waterproof mascara. Pajamas and hairbrushes are by far my most commonly forgotten travel items in general, not just for Disney
But AJ - Two hours before the flight you are already at the airport cause its so fun to be on the way. But the key is to pack logical and havethe iems you need in the morning prephered in certain areas so you can drop them into youre bag and go. Another key is to do mental notew on what you need and pack the most needed item that you only need on the trip as soon as you start packing. Also if you know where youre most needed items are you can check those areas before departure - The same tips goes for leaving youre hotel room on departure day. Dont forget to pack extra items in reserve. Like extra underwear or pants. Youd be happy on those rainy days. Johan.
I forget my brush one trip. In the parks all I could find was that Minnie kids one but the shop at the hotel had a better travel brush for a better price.
I'm probably going to take AJ up on her suggestion to bring an extra pair of sunglasses. I know that they sell them in the parks but it's not going to be cheap. I buy the cheap $15 ones at Target. Also, bring an eyeglass repair kit. You may need that tiny screwdriver for tightening the arms of your glasses or sunglasses or if you have to replace the battery on your MagicBand.
Dramamine non drowsy was the worst. I took some and couldn’t stay awake during my trip one day. Horrible. Learned that the essential oils for motion sickness are the way to go.
Yup...i've forgotten underwear on two trips...the last one was to Universal and i had to buy these terrible ones from a random shop. Which i now keep in my husband's laptop bag because that thing comes along on every trip and so therefore the backups will now always be there.
There's a Walgreens/CVS and other stores near the Disney park complex, so I'd suggest stopping off before you get into the complex to get whatever you need. (This was mentioned just as I was writing this, but still.)
My eyeglasses once got stomped on at WDW. I was so desperate I looked in a gift shop in Tomorrowland for sunglasses just so I'd have something on my eyes. To my surprise I found readers that work well enough and were a real life saver.
Omg. That happened to me on our last trip on NYE. I forgot my brush. The only one they had in the AKL gift shop was a stupid Minnie bow brush that really sucked. I’ll never use it but I can bring myself to throw it out now.
Most important of all, never forget to bring politeness and good manners along and use them all day, every day. You will be in crowded, stressful situations, as will everyone around you. Nobody wants to hear you complaining, being rude to others or Number ONE: yelling at or threatening to discipline your tired and restless children or spouse. If you can't be respectful please just stay by the resort pool.
Luisa Pelaez almost anywhere! You can buy the fuel rod brand from their website but I got a bigger charger from amazon that charges my phone several times through. But Walmart, target, etc have the portable chargers for sale.
We usually go to Disney in late February but went in early February this year... it was COLD. I’ve never been able to wear my Disney sweatshirts AT Disney before 😂😂 a welcome change from the heat
I have a travel bag that has my toothbrush, toothpaste, brush, mini first aid kit, soap, body poof, hairspray, scrunchies, glasses, contacts case and contact solution that stay in there specificly.
I’ve got to say the Disney Parks $10.00 Poncho was way better then the $1.00 one I brought.. I ended up throwing mine away and buying a Disney one.. It didn’t feel sticky and smothering against my skin like the cheap ones...Now I have a Disney one I’ll just keep reusing it for all my trips..
Wait what? 80 degrees one day then 30 the next? I mean I almost always bring a hooded sweater everywhere I go... except that one time to Disneyland in May because SoCal is never cold *grumble*... but 30?! WTF crazy weather system does that? I mean I've been there in January and it never got anywhere close to that cold.
May I make a suggestion/ request for a video? Best beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) in WDW. Unless of course you’ve already done it. Loving the channel x
On my 10 day trip trip last month, I left half of my underwear packed in a suitcase that I didn't end up taking. I had to do more laundry than I had planned to do. 🤣

Oof, that happened to me last August, thankfully I had packed some because I’m particularly about what I use. But it was NOT fun lol

Wipes in my park bag are a must. Also a clean empty ziplock has come in handy more than once
So true!
Yup! I don’t even have kids and I keep wipes in our bag for sticky fingers until we get to a bathroom.
Esp. some hygiene wipes for cleaning intimate areas and normal areas when getting sweaty.
not a bad idea. a pack of baby wipes goes a long way, especially when you offer a couple to a struggling park goer -makes their day!!
I have a travel pack of: Antibacterial Wet Ones, Plain Wet Ones, Clorox Wipes and flushable wipes in my purse AT ALL TIMES. They’re flat packages so they take up very little room but I’ve got four kids and I won’t leave home without em!!
Things to attach glasses to your head, really nice for rides and when waiting in line

Sharpies for autographs! It’s hard for the characters to grip tiny ballpoint pens!
Make them the large marker
Good cushioned socks! I’ve learned even the most comfortable tennis shoes will feel horrible fast if you are not wearing the proper socks. Thanks for the video!!❤️❤️
Mommy Lim hiking shoes and hiking socks ☺️
I recommend smart wool, darn tough, or balega.
Thorlo walking socks. Incredible.
@@timmytimmy17 where can I get those?

I keep a brush/comb and toothbrushes packed in a suitcase all the time. These are good things to remember-as I've forgotten several of these over the years.
If you forget your glasses and really really need a pair, the Walmart not too far from property has an optical department that can have prescription glasses ready in an hour!
Best start to Monday 😁
Molly Schwerin for me I just got home from school so this is a great way to wind down ( and research Disney stuff)
We have a spreadsheet.....a very lengthy spreadsheet. Lol
GBOGEY AJ wants to know if it includes bathrooms 😂
I get teased by co-workers about my spreadsheet but at least I'm always prepared!
What?! That’s the coolest tip on Notes checklist.. I never knew that!
Bring a pair of shoes that water runs through (even dollar store flip flops) for going on water rides or if it's raining. Feet dry but walking around in soggy socks is miserable and blister-inducing.
Pool shoes are great for set days because they dry quickly.
I agree. Some big deal trips, I'm bad to be packed a week in advance. I still always forget something.
I can never find cute sunglasses at Disney and both pairs she showed were sooo cute!! Now I’m on the hunt for a pair next time I’m in the parks!
Everytime I watch one of these I add to my must take list. One of our bags is going to be full just on the "must takes" .LOL.
ponchos / umbrellas
toothbrush
comb / brush
contacts / glasses
gum
makeup
bath supplies
enough clothes /sew kit
sunscreen
meds / OTC meds
chargers
fan
powerstrip
backup shoes
magical express bag tags
magicbands
Don't forget the usb cables for charging devices and phones. Bring extra or order them from Amazon to deliver to the hotel for cheap.
I had two cords on the same trip damaged by accidentally dropping my phone and tablet and they landed on the cord breaking the plug and luckily not the jack.
Went to Disney world when hurricane Matthew was coming in and I was in Florida when Matthew came to shore and learned the hard way about rain gear and layers. and no we did not intentionally go when there was a hurricane lol and I've been there plenty of times and still have forgotten about rain gear and I'm from Wyoming so I know layers real well
Currently packing for my flight to Orlando tomorrow so this could not of come out at a better time!!!
Nice, Im going in to disney world in orlando in April! Have Fun!
have fun! be sure to write down everything you want to do so that you don't forget to do. i forgot i wanted to get beignets back in december, so now i have to wait for my next trip.
Have a great trip!
Nathaniel Dodge Thanks. Beignets are definitely on my must try food list
Bella Merlino thank you. I hope you have a great trip!
OTC meds are FREE at the FIRST AID stations in the parks. (i.e. Tylenol, ibuprofen, antihistamines, Imodium, band aids, etc)
The two pairs of the same shoe is GENIUS
On the bath front we used one of the refillable mugs in the Disney resort for washing my daughters hair x
We left for WDW 01-18-20. I watched every weather report I could before I packed. I decided to leave my heavier winter clothing behind. Bad more! The weather was 20° colder than the forecast! I wore so many layers in the park each day! Never again!
Super helpful in putting together my checklist and from watching another vid decided to add reusable straws to the list.
Another fine video, it’s cute you think it’s cold in Florida in January 😉🇬🇧
Yeah no kidding 🇨🇦
It is! 🇯🇲 😜
For Florida standards it sure is! =p
Once I forgot Hand sanitizer. All that magic comes with lots of germs so it is a must have for me
I forgot my hair brush on my very first trip...my honeymoon. Thankfully I remembered my hair tie! ha
Remembering the after sun products. Aloe with lidocaine and a USB power strip with extra slots
Solarcaine works wonders too without having to run anything on your skin. It's also very cooling.
I remember once we went in October and we hit a record high and a record low in the SAME WEEK.
If you buy something at DW and it breaks during that trip, they will let you return or exchange. This happened to me.
Soojung Lee yes
Love your videos! We are planning to take my little girl for her first trip in November 😊
I'm going in August for my birthday, your videos help me so much. Last time I went to disney was 9 years ago.
Johan.
Lots of good tips
Thanks for helping us plan our 11 day WDW vacation
Love all the videos you guys put out
11 days??
Hairspray!!! I forgot this last year and on rides my hair went absolutely everywhere! Not gonna make the same mistake this year!! 😁
I forget my brush one trip. In the parks all I could find was that Minnie kids one but the shop at the hotel had a better travel brush for a better price.
Thank you for that tip in making a checklist in Notes!! I never knew that existed, I just fixed my checklist in my notes to show the checks!
To save space on the trip, bring a tablet (Kindle in my case) with ebooks/audiobooks.
One thing I pack is a camel pack. Nothing beats carrying a couple of liters of cold water hands free
I would honestly create a checklist! There’s apps for that now! Disney needs to create a Checklist and a planning trip app for sure
Dramamine non drowsy was the worst. I took some and couldn’t stay awake during my trip one day. Horrible. Learned that the essential oils for motion sickness are the way to go.
TheDis Beat Bonine works better for me.
This video could not have come at a better time I actually just finishing packing as I leave for Disney and a cruise in a couple days.
Omg. That happened to me on our last trip on NYE. I forgot my brush. The only one they had in the AKL gift shop was a stupid Minnie bow brush that really sucked. I’ll never use it but I can bring myself to throw it out now.
I did not know about the checklist on the phone notes. Thanks AJ
Great Video. Always so infornative😊 I have question...Where can I buy those portable fuel rod stick to charge my phone during the day?
Luisa Pelaez almost anywhere! You can buy the fuel rod brand from their website but I got a bigger charger from amazon that charges my phone several times through. But Walmart, target, etc have the portable chargers for sale.
Kayla Combs Thank You so much😊💜
(1) A waterproof jacket. (2) A waterproof jacket. (3) A waterproof jacket. (4) AND emergency ponchos!
Hey AJ! Can you guys do a video about how to get the best deals as a single Disney traveler? Thanks! ❤️
Thank you for the Checklist tip from the Notes app!!
Do you have a video of what to pack when going in November
It’s about 17 degrees on a sunny day in the uk so I think we’re fine
Don't forget to pack that 2nd vacation for this vacation.
Several liter water pack that fits inside a back pack is so clutch.
I’m not even going to Disney this year but I really want to 😂
May I make a suggestion/ request for a video? Best beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) in WDW. Unless of course you’ve already done it. Loving the channel x
Great advice, and job, as always, AJ. Thanx!
On my 10 day trip trip last month, I left half of my underwear packed in a suitcase that I didn't end up taking. I had to do more laundry than I had planned to do. 🤣
Meercat Manor same here! Totally underestimated how many pairs of underwear our family would need last trip 😆
