It was weighted down... Similar things have happened on Its A Small World. Unfortunately with peoples body weight continuing to climb on average Disney will continue to have to increase the water levels on their rides slightly. They will again even consider removing material from the underside of ride boats to give more clearance. I believe they have made some of the ride boats flat underneath but I’m not 100% on that being factual.
I experienced an issue on It's A Small World where the last couple of rows on the boat were loaded with heavier people. It was slow going and every time we came to a curve the boat would hang up a little (and one time more than a little). By the time we got to the end all the boats on the ride were lined up behind us with none whatsoever in the loading queue ahead. We laughed so hard. It's a great Disney memory for me.
My first visit was a 7-year old in 1972 (stayed at Poly) and I remember saying to my dad, “Next time, we’ve got to stay in the Persian hotel.” We saw the drawings in an exhibit about the future of WDW.
Everytime I ride the bus to MK and pass the site of the old airport I like to point it out to the kiddos. It's funny to see how many fellow passengers are amazed by that.
Fun fact of the day: my mom actually worked with AND DATED Kevin Richardson during her time at the backstage studio tour. And i have many the photo to prove it.

I actually didn't know some of these things! And I love to challenge myself with every "fun facts" article I read about Disney to see if I know them all!
This was great! I only knew 3 of these facts. Amazing that John Lennon signed the legal papers while staying at the Polynesian ending the Beatles official era. And wow! I never knew Nixon gave that speech at the Contemporary. AJ always does such a great job. I so enjoy your videos, AJ. Thanks!

I just got back from my first trip to Disneyworld with my sister and brother in law who have been numerous times and i surprised them with all the Disney info i knew bc of your videos. So thank you!
A good bit of these I knew, to many good Disney 'did you know/tour' youtube channels, but the flags down main street was new to me. I love all the hidden Disney easter eggs and good to see the tradition still continues with the newer additions.
There are 3 original resorts when WDW opened. Fort Wilderness opened as well, and actually was operating before WDW officially opened. It housed the construction crew that worked on Magic Kingdom.
Thank you soooo much for all your videos. Just got back from our first time in disneyworld and all your videos help us so much!! Keep up the good work!!
Awesome video guys! I knew about 10 of them lol. And here I thought I knew it all about Disney World. Thanks guys and we’ll see ya real soon! - Your Pal Al
I knew most of these, but my daughter worked there for over four years. And by the way, in addition to all the Cast Members cleaning, restocking etc in Magic Kingdom, there is an army of horticulturalists who sweep thru each night changing out and freshening all the flowers, plantings and hanging baskets. One time that I was visiting my daughter I was able to drive her to work in DAK and leaving by the back way I could get brief glimpses of their massive greenhouses.
This video is so interesting! .....Nixon and The Beatles!! The largest collection of African wine outside of Africa is in Disney World?!! And love those ziplock bags at Splash Mountain!
There was also a landing strip on the other side of the Contemporary Hotel. And have you ever seen the 1st power plant? It is still on the other side of the employee parking lot, It's on Center Drive, North of Florida Way
Yeah! The cast members paint 🎨 at night as well I worked at Cinderella’s a bit + they were ALWAYS working early in the morning + late at night they started their shift as soon as guests were gone!
The flag "fact" is wrong. Rob Plays did a great video on it. US flag code is a set of guidelines NOT a law. So the reason the flags are missing stars is because of the time period that Mainstreet USA is set in. There were not 50 states in 1910. It is not to avoid having to take down the flags at night like tour guides have been saying. It is another Imagineering detail and not flag code avoidance
Decades ago, there was a couple that tried to sue Disney for being injured when chunks of stone and concrete fell off the castle onto them. After being carefully questioned by Disney attorneys as to the location of where the chunks fell from, triple checking the plaintiffs were absolutely sure, the court was informed that everything higher than around 20 feet or so on the exterior of the castle is basically fiberglass and not stone nor concrete. Have a good day. We hope you enjoyed your visit :)
Steamboat Willie was not the first Mickey Mouse cartoon. Plane Crazy was made first and screened in May, 1928 while Steamboat Willie didn't come out until November of that year. Steamboat Willie was the first released to the general public (Plane Crazy was released the following year) and the first with synchronized sound.
Before Disney was a "no fly zone" the skies over Disneyworld were filled with airplanes pulling banners advertising Time Shares, Discount Tickets, or homophobic messages protesting Disney offering Same Sex health benefits. In this respect having a no fly zone around Disney is a good thing.
Just came back from my Disney trip. My family FORGOT OUR TICKETS AT HOME! not even sure how it happened but luckily they accepted pictures that I took of all of our pass cards 🙏🏻
I knew all but three of them. I didn’t know about the carousel, I didn’t know about Hollywood Studios being a hidden Mickey from the air, and I didn’t know about the Splash Mountain Ziploc bags. The last time I rode it was in December 2019 and we didn’t see them then!
Also, if you like the amphibious car come to Wisconsin, we have military duck rides, ducks are heavy duty amphibious trucks what are taken out on the river and you get to see all the cool rocks and stuff
Well, since I'm a local and never stay at any of the resorts I didn't not know about the laundry app. That's pretty cool. Also, did not know about the Beetles break up at the Poly. wow. Cool...Didn't know about the St Patty's Day party at Ragland Road. We'll be there on March 15th. Haha I knew Disney once had an operational airport, but I didn't know it played a song when you drove on it. That's funny. And I agree about the South African wines! We had some Chakalaka (Spice Route) red wine over at Nomad's lounge one time and I thought it was the best wine I have ever had! You cannot buy it anywhere in the state of Florida. Disney has the monopoly on that wine. I found it in a liquor store in Colorado when I went to go visit some friends and I brought 2 bottles back with me. I asked the store clerk if they could ship it to me and he said they weren't allowed to ship to Florida. haha I'm very excited to ride Mickey ad Minnie's Runnaway Railway..and now I'll know that fun fact. :) I'm also really looking forward to seeing the new Cirque de Solie show this year!
