- The spoiler on my Lexus ISF is fading, and I'm using that as an excuse to update the look of the rear end. On this episode, I have 3 items that I'll show you how to install on any Lexus IS.

Video was great! Not a fan of the new tail lights, but I get it. Personally, I’d rather keep the OEM look. Especially on a IS F.
Such a tasteful looking car. I like the new additions. I wouldn't do a splitter. I think it would look weird for some reason.
If you're open to suggestions, I would do some wheel spacers since the stock wheels still look good on the car and it would look even better for the wheels to be flush.
I bought the spoiler everyone buys off of eBay. I’ve never seen the one you bought...I may have to switch it out. I really like it!
Nice. I recently got a 2008 ISF after a C63 and M3 and love it, I think it's the best of the bunch overall when considering everything as a DD. Looking forward to doing a full detail myself with paint correction and ceramic, and am looking at CF rear spoiler as mine is faded also.
I have the same tail lights on my IS220D and I really like them. They make the car look much more modern, from the rear at least.

Heating up the tape and the surface right before you put it on helps it stick. You have to drill the real diffuser into the underside. I have the same one.

Wow you have the same taste as me! I'm about to get that highkick spoiler myself.
As for the s4play style diffuser, the key is to remove those brackets that help mount the faux tips.
Without them in the way, the diffuser should fit nice. I have had mine secured with 3M tape and 5 screws and it has held on for two years no issues so far.

I got the same diffuser and I made it fit perfectly. I like it as it is less in your face with just enough aggression hint under the bumper. And it was cheap

I too have the vland on my 07 IS 350, love the look, but hope the inner lights is a little brighter to match the outter lights, that will be great

Like the lights, however, I think the wing is a bit much and detracts from the ISF's understated style. However, you like it and that's all that matters!

VLand tail lights I believe they're called, as much as i like them, I'd still prefer the stock ISF lights. They looks good, are fairly modern and help keep the F apart from the regular IS'.
I absolutely love the stock tailights and headlights, a very aggressive yet understated look
Looks cool. Considering these lexus cars retain quite a bit of their value and mechanically outlast most of their competition (bmw, audi, mercedes...etc) So it's kind of a no brainer to invest on some of these aftermarket accessories. Good job 👍👍👍

tbh with you, I kinda like the previous Is tail light with those two vertical dots tail light.
You could also use a heat gun on the 3M tape residue and peel it off that way, doesn’t harm the paint either.

Did you put protector strip on them to avoid getting water inside the tail light??
I HAD the same diffuser. Had to cut a set of teeth off each side to make it fit. It fit great after that because of those things that are on the ISF holding the exhaust tips or whatever, but it ended up falling off after 2 weeks lol

Nice job, though I personally am not a fan of the look. I would have repainted/clear coated the original spoiler. For some reason spoilers always seem to fade first on cars like this. (My old Legacy GT had clear coat coming off as well). Ended up selling the car but otherwise would have probably tried wet sanding it myself.
That rear diffuser comes in different sizes. you’ll have to measure the space then by the one that fits accordingly
I too bought that “universal fit diffuser” and noticed that it also didnt fit. Its garbage. Check out S Factor Fabrication on IG for splitters

where did you get the license plate frame?
The diffuser looks more like the sharkfin kinda thing for the top rear window if youd ask me where id fit it.
On getting sticky 3M tape, decals, about anything I found some stuff called Motsenbocker's Lift Off. It breaks down the sticky stuff without damaging the paint

Are those diffuser not for the rear windshield?.
I'd recommend that anyone doing this avoid using tape to seal existing mounting holes. I do recommend using the Dorman branded button plugs (or similar) and rubber butyl tape to seal existing holes. The butyl will stay pliable and will not dry out over time in the sun/heat like tape would.
Is there a specific size that will fit these holes or just get a generic bundle pack ?
@@anthony8487 this will specific to each application. I recommend using the backside of different sized drill bits until you find the one that is closest to the size of the hole and then try to find a body plug that is as close to that size. The rubber butyl tape should fill in any gaps. Hope this helps.

You could have actually bought carbon fiber stickers on the original spoilers so that you didnt have to remove them. they look so real and great quality
I used lamp oil for the adhesive. Let it sit them scrap it off with your nail.

That wing is held down only by tape? Huh.... how long will that stay on? Especially in cold places like Minnesota?
VHB 3M tape is inherently strong like super strong it is what most every brand uses from the factory for many parts to not create holes at minimize them but you could always drill into this wing to secure it even more if you’d like. As an added benefit I would have used industrial grade silicone the stuff used to keep buildings together on the edges to help keep it planted also.
The tail light are fire, the wing, ok, too bad about the diffuser, sure you will find one soon.

Was that a roof splitter?
Or just soak the old 3m tape with a paint safe degreaser. After allowing the tape to soak for an hour or two, simply scrapes off easy with a plastic scraper.
(Make sure to only soak the tape and do not spray the entire trunk with the paint safe degreaser - just in case)
I prefer HC motion tail lights over the first gen vland. The animation follows the current modern led light

I would have use lubricates like WD40 to spray and soaked on those old adhesives, that would easily make those adhesives come off cleanly and effortlessly.
That wing is identical to my CLS w218 😂
Next time use tar remover to get the old 3m tape off
That tape on the pre drilled holes under the spoiler won’t hold up to weather .. you should have used a small amount of body filler instead.

This may be an unpopular opinion but I really dont like those taillights... every riced out IS I see has em. And the factory tail lights are clean, simple, beautiful, and way better quality. I feel those tail lights cheapen the look of the car
