Hi, the LOQ comes with a 2242 and 2280 slot. The laptop comes equipped with 512gb ssd in the 2242 slot already, so the one he's upgrading is in the empty 2280 slot. Hope this solves it for you.

It will be clipped. You have to slide it away by some tool. I had used thin plastic Card to insert in the gap and push it outward to unclip the black cover. Then it can be easily removed. There are 2 or 3 screws holding the black cover. You have to remove those first.

You can install 512gb/1tb in the 2242 slot and up to 2tb in the 2280 slot according to the datasheet(not 2tb in total from both disks). Ive risked it and installed a 4tb one in the 2280 slot and everything seems to be working fine

I’m not having any such issues. I have intel i7 13th gen CPU. Based on my knowledge AMD cpus will heat up more comparatively to intel when same tasks are performed on both the processors.

You should disconnect the battery first when upgrading something to prevent short

Maybe there is no proper driver for Windows 10 as it is a recently launched Laptop... Have you tried SDI?
