I've learnt about it now some time ago, but thanks. I suppose it's way more efficient to do this instead of filling up measures. Though, still a little confusing to me that one is supposed to play the 4-voiced pattern on three strings.
This is one of Vivaldi's greatest concertos. No one else of his time could have written something like this.
I revisit this piece in awe. I feel now that I have an intangible but deeper understanding of this work in the form of wordless wonder.

That’s not a four-string chord. That’s a shorthand for pattern work
