I'm sure I'm not the only one, but doesn't La Serenissima sound absolutely different from other baroque ensembles? I'm not quite sure what it is ... the unity of sound, tuning, intonation, phrasing, and/or the recorded quality. Really remarkable.
I created my own sequence of this work to be performed on a computer recently and I have an odd thought about this that came to me during the programming. I imagine that Vivaldi frantically wrote this after dreaming about descending to hell for his behavior against the catholic church (not performing mass, having a woman live with him despite being a priest...). Especially note the use of dissonance in this work, could be a plea to the devil. This is an incredibly stirring work of music, more stark and violent than RV 315 in the first and third movements. I certainly enjoy the tender break of movement two here. Thank you for sharing this rare master work.

I got chills, I did not exactly know what you've done, it seems to me an alteration of the running time. I can not define (by Italian and listener of the music of Antonio). I like your transformation! BRAVO!
Well thank you. For the most part, I just copied the notation to the computer, I did alter the tempo slightly as I saw fit. With the third movement, I had to delay a few of the notes to avoid it sounding like a jumbled mess. I am glad you enjoyed my work, it took me weeks to assemble.

they shouldn't be allowed to copyright Vivaldi's compositions, make their own composition if they wanna copyright and then no one will listen to it because they restricted it but don't restrict Vivaldi.
Oh! I found this on the internet: "RV 243 is called "Senza cantin" because it requires the soloist to omit using the highest string on his instrument, the E string. This is of consequence because it compels the soloist to play very high up on the A string, which creates a distinctive timbre, as well as its own set of technical issues."
This is utterly lovely! Culture brings out more and more culture.. Music is one of 'our' best autodidactics' playground, because 'we' do it woth passion!! And BTW, that´s correct!
I absolutely agree...It is like a soul coming down from darkness and transforming itself into a pure light!
La alta calidad de las composiciónes y su estilo elegante, tan fino y preciso. Toda una gama de belleza musical. Viva VIVALDI
Without an E string. Remarkable is an understatement. Amazing playing and gifted composer!

Absolutely!!!
D minor : what a beautiful tonality !
Que candorosa alegría festiva se apercibe en esta genial composición de sapiencial tonalidad torera.
Vivaldi's legendary arpeggios 3:05
@omoshiroidayo it means the solo violin must play without using the E string, just the lower 3 strings only.
this concerto kicks ass!
3:05〜3:47 awesome!
