  • I find these old drafting tables pretty interesting. I studied Architecture and even though I don't practice now, I have some nostalgia for these old desks. Thought it would be fun to model a vintage style table.

@@daver425 Don't name your components Dave, then your kids get attached to them, you gotta let them sleep in the house, feed them... just don't name your components.

Very nice! Were you working off any reference? Or was this all made up?

I have a picture of screen as a general reference, usual for my speed builds. You and I should tackle the same subject sometime.

Geeks Wood Shop You know I’m always up for some SketchUp modeling!

I just found your channel. I found it because I am woodworker and I am learning drafting. Therefore, this came up when I did a search. Do I understand correctly? You did not build this. You just drew it up in SketchUp. Correct? If you did build I would love to see it. It looks to be a great design. I am planning on trying to build it.

Yes, this was only drawn up in SketchUp, it would certainly be fun to build in real, good luck if you do!

    Thanks a lot !

Thanks. I'm using SU Pro, but in this video everything could be done with any version of SketchUp except the 6 sided knob, which I used SubD plugin to create.

A qualidade do projeto ficou parecido com o Blender ou os que são feitos no 3DMax, ficou muito bom! Agora, na minha "experiência" no SketchUp, isso parece ter plugin.

I don't have one, this was just a bit of practice. I've thought about making some of these models into plans, if I put in the time to make them, I'd put em up for sale. That what you are talking about?

Not sure if you mean if this was a physical desk.. and I don't know what the curving piece would be called, or the rotate tool in SketchUp?
