The Great Pumpkin Waltz (from "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown"). Fall Covers 🍂🎃 No. 3

"The Great Pumpkin Waltz" by Vince Guaraldi was written as incidental music for the animated Halloween television special It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (1966), the follow-up to the immensely popular A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965).The tune is first heard when Linus is witting a letter to the Great Pumpkin.
Given that this tune was made as background music for a Halloween special, probably the last place I would write for an underutilized instrument, it must needs be remarked that this composition is a rare Alto Flute feature, an uncommon instrument in most styles and genres, let alone Jazz!

Love the alto flute. Beautiful sound.
I think one reason children loved the Peanuts Specials was because they were kids' shows with real, adult-sounding music. I was a small child when these shows first came out, and I remember how much I enjoyed the music, being so different from the cornball stuff all the other kids' specials had.
The Peanuts shows were very rudimentally produced, but Vince Guaraldi's jazz and bossa nova music gave them a certain measure of sophistication. Kids liked that. I know I did.

Great sweater, intricate design and represents the culture it comes from very nicely. There is alot of tricky knitting involved if it is hand knit.

We should recognize the sweater and of course this fantastic music piece .I remember this as I watched the original broadcast and instantly my juvenile ear zoned in on it . Played well sir. One thing of your guest - The Alto flute for the tone or difference of pitch structure of her part in which both of you interpreted this song well . Long live the great pumpkin !
