    when you cant travel, or when somethings out of season or just straight unavailable, sometimes the best alternative is to make it yourself. as you may know, foods in japan tend to be highly seasonal. that means outside their season, you might have a hard time finding it.
    for example, kakigori, being a cold dessert is most often enjoyed in the hot summer season in japan. but good news for you, is if you enjoy shaved ice desserts like kakigori...
    it's quite easy to recreate at home. allow me to demonstrate in the video🍧
    all you need are a handful of ingredients and of course something to shave the ice. (check out my DOSHISHA review linked below)
    last - as you may know, in Japan, festivals are celebrated throughout the year for a variety of different reasons. Sometimes it's a holiday or historical event, other times it's religious. One of the easiest ways you can enjoy your time at these japanese festivals is with food. and in this series on omatsuri foods (japanese festival foods) you're going to discover how simple it is to recreate some of these delicious japanese foods at home. all you need to do is close your eyes and imagine yourself at a Japanese festival!

    Freezing Milk (dairy) does something bad to it. Would like the link for the shaved ice machine though. ty

    Would it work in the US? The voltage in the US is 120 but the machine's voltage is 100.

    Can I please get the link for the small skillet and the Japanese ice machine? Suggestion; Freezing dairy milk is not a good idea, it changes the taste & texture and hurts the vitamin D in it.

      I believe so!! When I still lived in NJ, there was a place called Yaohan, which changed to Mitsuwa, in Edgewater, NJ, and I would buy it, there!! I LOVED the Strawberry Syrup that they would pour on it, also! YUMMIE!!
