The Emperor simply killed the overlord, to become Mortarion's new overlord, commanding him, controlling him, forcing him to fight, to kill those who did nothing wrong to Mortarion’s people. Mortarion's hate was justified, the Emperor destroyed all those who didn't bend the knee, he was worse than any other tyrant, he didn't just lord over a world, a population, he ravaged the galaxy in his pursuit to control the galaxy.

His pride and ego let him to betray the emperor and not see he was manipulated by Typhon, just like the pride of Horus made him vulnerable to Erebus, but truly, they are the prime responsible for their own downfall (along with daddy big E who could have had a bit more daddy skills)
I believe it was a two way street. Typhon through most of the time stood by Mortarion, he was after all the first being Mortarion had ever witnessed truly fighting and defying their situation, ending in Mortarion himself being inspired to rise up and fight as well. I think it was Typhon that followed Mortarion into the heresy, however it effected them both differently and it was only inevitable that Typhon was to give himself over to the ruiness powers. I believe it was still Mortarion, who led them both into chaos.

What I kinda dislike about Mortarion is how he essentially had to be tricked to serve Nurgle. Fulgrim, Angron, Magnus, all of them it was pretty clear from the start who they'd end up serving as a twisted form of their personalities. I think it would've been cool if they made Mortarion into an Allarielle type who is into preserving life and nature and all that, but then Nurgle uses that against him as a wedge and corrupts him into a spreader of decay. This was good. Surprised you didn't covert Mortarion's little reunion with Big E 10K years later. Would have been a good examination of his character progression.
Mortarion is the only traitor primarch with any redeemable qualities. You could argue Fulgrim too, as Fulgrim was driven to Chaos by Big E directly though, he just wanted to tell everyone how cool his dad was and got in trouble over it.
Another great video @TheAmberKing! While Mortarion is not liked much by me personally, he does indeed embody many of humanity's flaws and is a massive hypocrite (outside the Emperor perhaps lol). But his fall to Nurgle's worship is tragic because Mortarion did see himself as a hero and he had that strong conviction against everything warp-related. But he did love his sons which is something. I wonder if perhaps the Emperor or Isha can redeem Mortarion in that, he is freed from Nurgle as I doubt he can ever go back to the imperial fold. But the Emperor seems sad by what happened to Mortarion if "Godblight" is anything to go by. Great work @AVoxintheVoid , www.youtube.com/@SandmanofTerra, @Liam Taylor, @LoreSimpMinis, and www.youtube.com/@NaturallyRPVoiceover!!
i HATE TYPHON/TYPHUS. you always gotta keep the grass cut....its always a fkn snake in the grass. we damn near all fell at some point to something that couldve been prevented....we just never too the time to think about the "what ifs.." typhus is that snake that backstabbing mr son of bytch who turned on the people who had his back because of his own curiosity and selfishness. i truly despise typhus and erebus the most in 40k.
That first part felt like a fever dream. So out of context, without a proper introduction or even a beginning. It felt so off and so confusing that I had to skip it. I don't understand why that piece of lore was placed like that at the very beginning.
Loved the video! But the Khan's lines in this one had an awfully thick accent and was sorta hard to understand. Thicker than in the Khan's video! But still! Overall great!
What is that song that plays at 12:58 ? I have heard it before but for the life of me I can't place a name of neither it nor the artist to it, its maddening! XD
Carcharodons for Nurgle, with Rotigus Rainfather? There was once a Keeper of Secrets who annihilated an Eldar Craftworld by possessing a vulnerable Avatar of Khaine. How devastating would it be if he gets possessed by a Great Unclean One? A serious critique of Nurgle's forces: large, massive, plagued/poisonous bodies but more harder and less rotten. Is this logical enough? Loyalist Mortarion, who with discipline and determination used his psychic power to destroy the Necromancers and liberate his world, then commanding the harsh Librarians of his tough Death Guard. Traitor Typhon, who used his poisonous psychic power to corrupt his companions and escape in his plagued ship, vowing vengeance in Nurgle's name against the uncorrupted Pale King of Barbarus. Well? Remove their cannibalism, leave them with bones/bone ash, and Mortifactors become great (even as the replacement for the XIV Legion). Let's imagine that Lorgar, Angron and Horus are Loyalists (according to my version), could Alpharius and Omegon be the new Daemons Primarchs of Nurgle? (Example the seven-headed Plague Hydras, who live in poisonous Swamp Planets, Jungle Planets and Ocean Planets, corrupted by Rotigus Rainfather for the God of Death, the monster's immortality as a glorious symbol of the eternal Cycle of Rebirth)
The Scythes of the Emperor, the Mortifactors and the Doom Eagles. Which of the three is worthy of being the new XIV Legion? One thing that makes me think of the Scythes of the Emperor as the new XIV Legion are the Nurgle Tyranids, Genestealers and Hexwraiths (because of their symbol). Do you agree?
🩶 Raised by villagers and fighting Necromancers, Loyalist Mortarion discovers and strengthens his power as a Psyker, later giving personal teaching to his own Librarians. In Nikaea, although a truly disciplined Psyker, he himself speaks out against Magnus and his ideas. Logically then, how does Mortarion defend himself from the points made against him and demonstrate the harsh difference between the Psykers/Librarians of the Death Guard and those of the Thousand Sons?
The emporor is still like the 1st 1, didnt luten say people feel everything the emporor does is wrong/or some things?, and mortarian feels the emporor is like the demon or dark elder"in some ways.".
Best 40k lore channel around. I know I've said it before, but I still stand by that. That's not to say there isn't other great ones, because there most certainly are...:)

Its almost infuriating, that you don't have more subs, ty for the videos.
Mortarion made the mistake of being drawn as a bald soyjak in the 40k universe.
Never stood a chance
Morty we gotta kill the emperor
I like mortarion I cannot stand his hypocrisy at time BUT he’s such an interesting character
It's always hype when the amber king uploads. This one should be a banger
Once again, I would like to remind everyone that the Khan is the most underrated Primarch
Lots of people love the Khan, though. Underrated would be Corax, probably.
Didn't fulgrims corruption start when he coveted the lair blade? Your comment confuses me
Lol no one remembers lorgar aurelian
Nah, Kurze had such potential and it was squandered because of his upbringing and his own inability to own up to his actions.
Massive fan Mr King, Please do Eisenhorn for your next project.
That first part felt like a fever dream. So out of context, without a proper introduction or even a beginning. It felt so off and so confusing that I had to skip it. I don't understand why that piece of lore was placed like that at the very beginning.
In a setting with Big E and *insert Inquisitor of choice* no, he isnt the biggest hypocrit. But he is certainly one of them
DEATHGUARD! They are my favorite faction so thank you for doing this faction
Loved the video! But the Khan's lines in this one had an awfully thick accent and was sorta hard to understand. Thicker than in the Khan's video! But still! Overall great!
Beautiful. Thank you, Amber King.
One of your best videos, hands down.
finally i asked for almost a year and it happened!!! all hail papa nurgle!
Such a tragedy but he did choose the most foul master existance there is such a tragedy sighs
How do we get this man's subs up. Needs to he over 100k at least. These deep dives are some of the best character videos out here for 40k
What is that song that plays at 12:58 ? I have heard it before but for the life of me I can't place a name of neither it nor the artist to it, its maddening! XD
Dawn of War - Chant, game soundtrack.
Oh boy... this will gonna be epic!!!
2:11:00 not really a fan of the nurgle voice, should be a lot deeper and wet
Hail The Pale King! At long last one of my favorite primarchs is getting some love!
Narrator: "His voice is strangely soft, thin like a gust of rain-frozen wind"
A Vox In the Void: Continues to speak in fucking Ent
Love it
What a cruel fate. The price of chaos.
Thank you for this. This was so much fun. I can't wait for the next one. Good luck and happy holidays.
Glorious content. Although I still say Leman Russ is the bigger hypocrite. At least Mortarion knows he's hypocritical.
10/10 best yet !! Love the long format.
Id wait for longer vids
I think Mortarions documentary would be called (Champion of diseases, Mortarion: hypocrite, warrior and free slave)
We march for our Pale King. Onwards for Barbarus. ONWARDS FOR OUR FATHER, MORTARION.
By far my favorite primarch
1:06:50 Why does the Emperor look like Tommy Wiseau?
Many thanks once again for your brilliant work. You really bring these stories to life!
A Vox in the Void is legendary! He is to 40k what Tex of the Black Pants Legion & George Ledeux are to Battletech/Mechwarrior!
I love it so much, that until now, i have watched the live stream, and two additional times...i know i need a life 😂
This was an incredible presentation. Thank you so very much. What’s the music on the ending credits. That track is great.
Your awsome man. This is SO well done ! Its nice a LONG so I can paint my Death Guard army with even more joy. Your a good man thank you.
🩶
Raised by villagers and fighting Necromancers, Loyalist Mortarion discovers and strengthens his power as a Psyker, later giving personal teaching to his own Librarians.
The Khan's voice actor is phenomenal
Another masterpiece.. I still don't him as a character but I appreciate learning his origin
love it
The emporor is still like the 1st 1,
didnt luten say people feel everything the emporor does is wrong/or some things?,
and mortarian feels the emporor is like the demon or dark elder"in some ways.".
Chagatai Khaaaaaaaaaaan 🔥🔥🔥
Best 40k lore channel around. I know I've said it before, but I still stand by that. That's not to say there isn't other great ones, because there most certainly are...:)
These should get posted to spotify so we can enjoy them from our phones without having to keep the screen on.
The way the strongest characters in these stories speak is hilarious. The ridiculously profound words make them silly--superhuman Joel Osteen's and Billy Graham's.
Im pretty sure you have to be a dark elder to be a hypicryte in warhammer 40,000.
Showing your face from time to time really makes this more... Personal somehow, at least to me. Always good to have a face to the voice 👍🏻
Grandfathers garden has treassures for all.
Mortarion was given all of grandfathers blessing. Such gifts, such love ... True delight.
Another amazing video and watched it the day after finishing The End and the Death Part 2. Fitting time for another amazing bit of lore.
Gah! the voice of horus when AVoxInTheVoid did the reading of "The FInal Battle" has burned THAT voice of horus in my head but Chris still did a good job
The voice acting between Mortarion and Jaghatai is perfection.
Each primearch is like a chapter for the 8 years/before=
1=night hunter
2=peterabo
3=mortarian
