‘This is your chance to speak,’ he said to Vecchiaz. ‘Use it well.’
‘What are your terms?’ Vecchiaz asked.
    ‘There are none.’
Another pause, a confused one this time. ‘I don’t understand.’
‘I spoke clearly,’ said Mortarion. ‘I will repeat myself. There are no terms.’
    ‘But we wish to surrender.’
    ‘You can’t.’
‘But we no longer wish to fight you.’
‘That was never your choice. I came to destroy you. What you do in response to that is up to you. It is no concern of mine.

Mortarion was a champion to his people.
The Emperor simply killed the overlord, to become Mortarion's new overlord, commanding him, controlling him, forcing him to fight, to kill those who did nothing wrong to Mortarion’s people.
Mortarion's hate was justified, the Emperor destroyed all those who didn't bend the knee, he was worse than any other tyrant, he didn't just lord over a world, a population, he ravaged the galaxy in his pursuit to control the galaxy.

Edit: but to be honest without the back story if I saw my soldiers/sons/people in great pain and nurgle stretched out his hand I probably would have taken it not for me but to take away the pain of everyone else.

Looking at it now; Mortarion's past is a hodgepodge of the other Traitor Primarchs pasts.
Mortarion suffered horrific planetary conditions. Like Fulgrim.
Mortarion endured harsh abuse under his adoptive father. Like Lorgar.
Mortarion rebelled against his oppressors' and led a revolt with a ragtag group of humans. Like Angron.
Mortarion utilized Geneva Convention Breaking tactics against his enemies. Like Curze.
Mortarion is a bitter and spiteful badass. Like Perurabo.
The Emperor's greatest mistake with Mortarion's was failing to portray himself as anything different to Necare.
    A manipulative tyrant.
Just another douchebag overpowered psyker claiming to be his father.

    • @HardMode..
      @HardMode.. 3 месяца назад +1

I believe it was a two way street. Typhon through most of the time stood by Mortarion, he was after all the first being Mortarion had ever witnessed truly fighting and defying their situation, ending in Mortarion himself being inspired to rise up and fight as well. I think it was Typhon that followed Mortarion into the heresy, however it effected them both differently and it was only inevitable that Typhon was to give himself over to the ruiness powers. I believe it was still Mortarion, who led them both into chaos.

    "you've changed,Mortarion."
Mortarion spun around, seeing russ. Older. But him.
"What gave you that inpression, you mutt." The old wolf laughed.
"Oh come now,i think that was the 1st time you actually called father of your own free will. And you were saved. By isha sure, but still."
"That changes nothing about my guilt. You know that more then anyone. Hows crying about breaking Magnus' spine doing for you?"
Russ sighed. "I wont deny i was not exactly the kind of man people wanted me to be. I was an executioner 1st,and a brother distant third. But ive made peace with my daemons little brother. You have a second chance mortarion. Do better, and perhaps youll find that peace."
Mortarion seemed to laugh a little.
"Id like that to be honest. But not untill i finish what i started. Im going to kill typhus. After that? Perhaps i will think on what you said. ...before you go."
    "Oh?"
Mortarion grabbed from his neck a a small locket engraved with the word, libertas.
"If you see guiliman or that clone of fulgrim... Tell him i was sorry. And that he was right."
Russ nodded. "I make no promises, but aye ill see what i can do. Safe travels brother."
Russ took the locket and left.
Mortarion looked to silence. Grabbing it with 2 hands.
"Well. I guess if im going to change...maybe this will be the 1st step."
With the force of a primarch, silence broke in half, left on the ground. The pale king reborn through ishas mercy and the emporors forgiveness walked towards the horizon. The air felt crisp in his lungs.
Mortarion arrived at a small town on the world.
"Ah! Damm it all, come on!" A man was busy hauling a massive crate as mortarion walked by. The man eyed him suspicious.
"Oi,you there, the tall pale bastard! You aint from here are ye?"
Mortarion shook his head and shrugged. "No. Not likely. You need help with that?"
"Nah,its fine, damm grox meat is heavy. Ngh..."
"Here, allow me." Mortarion helped carry it gently with an arm,and would set it down.
"Mighty greatful there stranger. You got a name?"
    Mortarion thought about it.
"I...hm. ...Moric. Moric Thane." The pale king said hesitant.
    "That not your name?"
"I...no. it is. I should be going. Farewell." Mortarion left.
In the distance, the shadow and starlight watched on.
"Live well,my son. You may not be called again,or perhaps what remains of you will hunt you...but please. Live well in this dark universe. Forgive me..."

What I kinda dislike about Mortarion is how he essentially had to be tricked to serve Nurgle. Fulgrim, Angron, Magnus, all of them it was pretty clear from the start who they'd end up serving as a twisted form of their personalities. I think it would've been cool if they made Mortarion into an Allarielle type who is into preserving life and nature and all that, but then Nurgle uses that against him as a wedge and corrupts him into a spreader of decay. But instead what we essentially get is "Mortarion serves Nurgle because his home planet smelled bad lol"

Mortarion is the only traitor primarch with any redeemable qualities.
You could argue Fulgrim too, as Fulgrim was driven to Chaos by Big E directly though, he just wanted to tell everyone how cool his dad was and got in trouble over it.

Another great video @TheAmberKing! While Mortarion is not liked much by me personally, he does indeed embody many of humanity's flaws and is a massive hypocrite (outside the Emperor perhaps lol). But his fall to Nurgle's worship is tragic because Mortarion did see himself as a hero and he had that strong conviction against everything warp-related. But he did love his sons which is something.
I wonder if perhaps the Emperor or Isha can redeem Mortarion in that, he is freed from Nurgle as I doubt he can ever go back to the imperial fold. But the Emperor seems sad by what happened to Mortarion if "Godblight" is anything to go by.
    Great work @AVoxintheVoid , www.youtube.com/@SandmanofTerra, @Liam Taylor, @LoreSimpMinis, and www.youtube.com/@NaturallyRPVoiceover!!

i HATE TYPHON/TYPHUS. you always gotta keep the grass cut....its always a fkn snake in the grass. we damn near all fell at some point to something that couldve been prevented....we just never too the time to think about the "what ifs.." typhus is that snake that backstabbing mr son of bytch who turned on the people who had his back because of his own curiosity and selfishness. i truly despise typhus and erebus the most in 40k.

Carcharodons for Nurgle, with Rotigus Rainfather?
There was once a Keeper of Secrets who annihilated an Eldar Craftworld by possessing a vulnerable Avatar of Khaine.
How devastating would it be if he gets possessed by a Great Unclean One?
A serious critique of Nurgle's forces: large, massive, plagued/poisonous bodies but more harder and less rotten.
    Is this logical enough?
Loyalist Mortarion, who with discipline and determination used his psychic power to destroy the Necromancers and liberate his world, then commanding the harsh Librarians of his tough Death Guard.
Traitor Typhon, who used his poisonous psychic power to corrupt his companions and escape in his plagued ship, vowing vengeance in Nurgle's name against the uncorrupted Pale King of Barbarus.
    Well?
Remove their cannibalism, leave them with bones/bone ash, and Mortifactors become great (even as the replacement for the XIV Legion).
Let's imagine that Lorgar, Angron and Horus are Loyalists (according to my version), could Alpharius and Omegon be the new Daemons Primarchs of Nurgle?
(Example the seven-headed Plague Hydras, who live in poisonous Swamp Planets, Jungle Planets and Ocean Planets, corrupted by Rotigus Rainfather for the God of Death, the monster's immortality as a glorious symbol of the eternal Cycle of Rebirth)

The Scythes of the Emperor, the Mortifactors and the Doom Eagles.
Which of the three is worthy of being the new XIV Legion?
One thing that makes me think of the Scythes of the Emperor as the new XIV Legion are the Nurgle Tyranids, Genestealers and Hexwraiths (because of their symbol).
      Do you agree?

    • @cesarerinaldi6750
      @cesarerinaldi6750 Месяц назад +1

      🩶
Raised by villagers and fighting Necromancers, Loyalist Mortarion discovers and strengthens his power as a Psyker, later giving personal teaching to his own Librarians.
In Nikaea, although a truly disciplined Psyker, he himself speaks out against Magnus and his ideas.
Logically then, how does Mortarion defend himself from the points made against him and demonstrate the harsh difference between the Psykers/Librarians of the Death Guard and those of the Thousand Sons?
