  • In this Product Review video I unbox and take a look at the BravoBelt belly band holster. While this might not be my style of holster I wanted to see how it would work and give you all my thoughts in case this was a type of carry method you were interested in. This video documents my personal thoughts, opinions and experiences with this product. Yours may vary.

    I use my bellyband a lot in my rotation, based on climate and clothing factors. I did however, modify mine in some areas to where I was 100% comfortable in it's performance and my needs. Such as reinforcing key areas with added backing, 3D printed mods for the holster area, retention strap mods, redundancy Velcro securing attachment to prevent the belly band from coming undone if I was ever in a scuffle. I know it's not as tacti-cool or operator-sexy as the appendix carry bros, but it is the right tool for the job that I ask of it. If by rare chance anyone see's the bellyband, I just tell I'm wearing a back brace. My other holsters are a shoulder rig or a sporran rig for my CCW rotation. (Again, based on clothing and climate)

    Great review. I was on the fence on whether to buy one of these or not but your video is motivating me to seriously consider it. I have a Walther PPS M2 which is pretty close in size to the M&P you used. I'm also a lefty so being able to move the magazine pouch around is another good point. I ride an electric bicycle and this way of concealed carry seems better than the chest pack (or fanny pack across my chest) that I use now. Thanks again...:) I'm in Texas also (Rio Grande Valley) and I'm glad the temperatures are finally cooling down a bit so I can go for longer rides...:)

    Excellent review. I have a different brand but with the same retention strap. You need the retention for the following situations: if bending over, if entering or exiting a car, if running. Bending causes the hip to push the gun outwards. If walking at a normal pace, no need to worry, the gun will not fall out

    I've had similar rubbing issues against your skin. I took an old t-shirt, measured the height that I wanted and cut the t-shirt. Wear the bottom of the t-shirt under whatever holster is rubbing, that has helped me out. You probably want to get 1 size smaller of a t-shirt, that worked out better. Now you don't have to wear 2 shirts.

    This is my go to when i go on brisk walks (3miles+) on paved trails near my home. i have t1c appendix holsters but prefer this when walking as i dont want weight on gym shorts. It works great for this type of scenario , doesn't move much, and if i sweat, it drys out fairly quickly when i take it off. recommend.

    I've got one as well, carry appendix. Much more comfortable wearing while I am running than a belt and holster (which tends to shafe my skin).

      I am glad you like it. It has a place in the carry rotation for many.

      Did the tight velcro cause you to chaff at all while running?

    Thanks ‼️... During the summer time I don't like wearing jeans all the time. Shorts and jogging pants are my go to and I'll have to tie them really tight so my holster and gun doesn't droop.

    I don’t have one of those- but I have a tip that will work with this device or any concealed holster.
    Put a hanky or bandana between your skin and the gun grip. Have some of it tucked down so it won’t fall out, and enough to give cushion but not get in the way of drawing.
    Give that a whirl. I do this often and so far it’s been good.

    This belly band looks like it makes sense for smaller guns, like yours, Sig P365 and many more 6" and under. Naturally the 1" rule would be a big help. Thank you. I am currently looking for the right one. If somone buys one of these, they own it. I do not want 3-6 of these.-Take care, God bless.

    The retention snap area covers the trigger on the outside, is there any rigidity on the inside and/or is the band thick enough that it the trigger is effectively covered?

    • @thetexasgunvault
      @thetexasgunvault  5 месяцев назад +1

      I would day so. It's not like kydex but it is sturdy.

  • @chicagorandy
    @chicagorandy Месяц назад +1

    I'm still stuck searching for a belly band that also has an integral gun-specific kydex holster. Every belly band 'universal' fit I've tried makes reholstering a clumsy two-handed chore because the gun holding portion collapses.

    • @thetexasgunvault
      @thetexasgunvault  Месяц назад

      That is something to consider. I agree that universal fit always means there are compromises somewhere in the design.

    The made in China thing would be a problem for me. Otherwise I would give it a try. I have tried many options and so far either pocket carry or appendix carry. I have recently explored the belly band option but haven’t yet decided which one would fit my needs.

    Personally, I don't like the snap. I will say that where the snap IS, it gives a LITTLE trigger protection. Now, will the gun fall into the holster or go deeper unintentionally 🤔
