"When I die, I want my wife to put the dodgers home schedule on my tombstone... so people can come and find out if the Dodgers are playing home or on the road... that's pride." -Tommy Lasorda
Unfortunately, the cemetery removes most things once a week.
He was the definition of a Dodger. There will never be another Tommy.
They should make a statue in his honor. Absolute legend
I'm sure they will
HEAR YE!!
They have too
A Lasorda Statue will be put up, for sure
They most definitely will build him a statue . Rest In Peace Tommy
Can’t help tearing up a bit, we lost a Dodger Legend. You can’t spell Lasorda w/o LA. We love you Tommy! RIP.
I met him in 2004 at the Dodger Stadium. I will never forget this legend.
Boy I swear, everytime a celebrity or sports icon I grew up watching, passes, a small piece of my youth dies with them. This one stings 😔
R.I.P. Tommy, heaven has gained one more Dodger icon.
I can’t believe he’s gone he reminds me of my grandpa and his passing hurts just as much 😢
he's all our dodgers grandpa
RIP to your grandpa as well!
I share your sentiment. His passing brings memories of my dad. It’s because of my dad that I love baseball. So happy Tommy got to see his beloved team on top again!! RIP Tommy Lasorda 💙⚾️
You cant be sad this man lived the live he wanted to live. Be happy for him.
He was just waiting for the Dodgers to do it one more time. Now he can go in peace. Godspeed Tommy
I grew up with the Dodgers and went to all the home games with my parents and little brother. My parents are from Brooklyn and cheered for Dem Bum's before moving to Los Angeles and wonderfully the Dodgers moved to La also.
Dodger baseball is just a beautiful golden thread in the fabric of my life.
My mother a month before she passed away from brain cancer wished she could see her beloved Dodgers one last time and we took her to a night game and she was happy.
I'm writing this with tears of remembrance. 💕 ⚾ Goooo Dodgers. RIP Tommy
Tommy is now in Blue Heaven, Rest In Peace Mr Lasorda, The Dodger's will miss you 🥺
Him and Vin are The Godfather’s of Dodger baseball.
R.I.P I’m so glad he got to see us win one more before he passed.
I'm heartbroken and devastated. I literally grew up with him. Rest in peace Tommy Lasorda. We will never forget you and your contributions to the Dodgers.
I grew up too and vin scully over the radio too.. both are legends
@@larry-of9kh I remember up until 80s and probably early 90s, KTTV 11 in LA would broadcast EVERY road game, so there was a generation that grew up with those voices. Its sad those days are gone and younger kids will NOT grow up with the dogers in their living room every summer evening.
@@alansands256 I was in high school in the 80s and yes the best year’s of my life I agree with you 10000000% I wish I could go back than also the best music than too KROQ 106.7 too and much more memories and tommy on the radio at the beach listening to a game

He assembled the greatest Dodger Teams...He was a great manager of the game. A good player too, pitcher. But his managerial skills made him the best skipper of the Dodger Days. R.I.P. "Lasorda a true blue Dodger Legend"
Rip Lasorda, you’re legacy in the Dodgers organization will not be forgotten
He was mean and a Ahole. He will NOT be missed
To say that Tommy was the ultimate company man would be an understatement. He really grasped what it meant to bleed blue. I lost a part of my childhood today but so glad he was one of us. Rest Easy Good Sir

Invented and truly bled Dodger Blue. RIP Tommy! Say "hello" up there to the Duke, Jackie, Campy, Donny and all of the other Dodger greats.
Tommy changed my life taught me about confidence and taking pride of your work, loyalty, and how to be Dodger fan. RIP Tommy
I remember my youngest son attending his first Dodger game telling me I met Tommy lasagna I told him is Lasorda. May Dodger blue Tommy Lasorda rest in peace 🙏
LOL
I grew up in an AL city, but have been a Doyer fan because of Lasorda since 1981. Didn’t get to see them live until inter league play in 1997, but, he’d retired in ‘96.
I grew up watching this man take the Dodgers to win the WS twice. RIP Tommy.
We lost one of the good guys. Love from a Phillies fan. I remember the love between Tommy and the Phanatic. 😀
Tommy Lasorda was one of those few baseball pros that were so BIG to me as a young man that I never thought the day would ever come that he would die... and I was right... he will NEVER DIE in my mind & heart.
Rest in peace Mr. Lasorda. You have served the Dodgers and their fans well!

My brother loved the Dodgers and Tom Lasorda. They are both in heaven. 😭
#2 a Dodgers legend. Thank you for dedicating your life to the Dodgers, you will be missed.
He will be a Dodgers legend!! Farewell forever Tommy, you gave the team so much good things.
I was a grade schooler in the 70s. Baseball was life to me! Growing up, I only knew of the Dodgers and the Yankees. I fell in love with the Dodgers and did not like the Yankees. I watch game upon game and started to emulate the players when I played little league. Those were some great times! And, Tommy Lasorda was one of the reasons for me being so passionate when I played. I wish I could have met him, but I will never forget him. RIP Tommy! GO DODGER BLUE!
Lucky to meet him with my Son in 2016 at Spring Practice. He was such a sweet man.
I can’t believe this! I am so happy and glad you got to see my favorite baseball team win another World Series. We will all miss you 💙🕊
Thankful we had him for 93 years. RIP LEGEND
I gree up in SoCal as an Angels fan. That being said, he was a living legend. May his legacy live on forever.
This one hurt! RIP coach see you in Blue heaven
Honestly he reminds me of someone my grandma would have gotten along with. As a Yankee fan I really really respect him to the highest capacity he loved the game of baseball for what it was not about the money and the fame. The game of baseball is what he loved to play and that is why so so so many people appreciated him. It is nice to see him be honored by all of baseball. He lived such a great life. Tommy you will be dearly missed man. 🙏🏻💙😔⚾️
So many great memories, my team from Brooklyn to LA, a man who brought so much to the game. God Bless you Tommy.
God bless this man's family!
Tommy was the man and face of the L.A. Dodgers. He leaves behind a legacy that is hard to repeat. Condolences to his family, friends, Dodger fans, and to all Angelenos who grew up in the 80's who watched him lead the Team to two World Series Championships! Tommy will forever be missed!

Words can't describe my emotions right now! I was able to watch you win the WS against the A's when I was 8! And I'm happy you got to see the Dodgers win the WS before your passing. “If you want to get to Heaven, you got to get through Dodgers stadium”. Well Mr. Tommy Lasorda, welcome to Heaven!
🙏🏼
My loathing of the LA Dodgers runs deep, but Tommy Lasorda's contributions to the greatest game on earth runs much deeper.
He is a true legend and icon in baseball. Love him or not (and/or the Dodgers...they're one in the same), you can not deny that he was highly entertaining, a baseball genius, and honestly, loveable.
Rest in peace, my old foe. You will truly be missed.
Wow. Tears, lots of tears right now. Thanks Tommy. We love you.
My Grandmother born 1910 in a small Ga town loved the Dogers because they beat the Yankees lol! She listened on the radio and knew everything about baseball. She thought Tommy Lasorda was the best person ever to be born in the USA!
RIP legend we love you Tommy
R.I.P. Tommy.... We all love you. Thanks for sticking around to get this ring. We won't forget you.
