I haven’t listened to this jam all the way, but I’ll take a chance. This is Chuck Berry at his best. Can any of today’s rock and roll do an 18-minute jam that sounds so good, with a little bit of blues and jazz tossed in? Nope, don’t think so. God bless the other three musicians, including Billy Peek, for keeping up with Chuck Berry for all of eighteen minutes and loose change. Great musicianship!
If you don't like this, you aren't a true rock and roller or a Chuck Berry fan. Chuck Berry grew up on jazz. That's how he could shred for 20 minutes. The psych scene didn't do anything but provide a form for Chuck Berry to cut loose in. He truly cuts loose the whole time. Pure Chuck Berry riffs, licks, and vibe. This is the ultimate jam. Haters gonna hate, and jammers are gonna jam. :)
Wondering if this beauty from CB would be on RUclips. Got to say I'm a bit disappointed in the number of views. Come on people this is THE MAN the one and only Chuck Berry in probably his longest extended jam in existence and as of 20th February 2019 - that's around 5 years + the vids been up for, only 10,334 views...this tune is CB at his BEST....World - up your game!
The man was a genius and a force of nature! This is an extended jam in response to the "Fillmore" era of psychedelic jams. He had played those psychedelic halls (and was adored) so he decided to show his "psychedelic" jamming side. Turn it up and LEARN.
The Doors, the Dead, Janice, Jimi, the Byrds, CCR, Jefferson Airplane, Dylan all got airplay. Chuck, Elvis, Jerry Lee, etc. didn't evolve with the times - that's not a knock, just a fact.
@@cazgerald9471 and none of those other bands evolved with time either because they only were together for a few years.. just the fact.. I don't think it has anything to do with evolving.. everything to do with radio programming and the jive ass folks that run the game
And because we embraced EVERYTHING that came from England, this MASTER was locked out of radio and TV for 10 years. This is an example, a small example of what Chuck could do...which was ANYTHING! Our shame for missing some of his most vital years. I hope the Beatles heard this progressive album!
Nada mais lindo em termos de música instrumental que esses concertos com beat do Chuck Berry. por favor façam vídeos sobre historicos desses concertos.
I'm always suspicious when I hear of anyone lauded for precision / no-flab under three minute songs doing an 'extended jam'. Actually, whenever I see any song length much over 4 minutes, I groan. But this is fun. And grinningly dotty. It also sounds (sonically) great. Any kid looking to learn about soloing (less is more!) should check it out.
This could have been really special if it was recorded properly. The playing is impeccable but the reverb on the other guitar is awful. It all sounds disjointed as though they are playing in different rooms. Terrible production which is a shame as it has some great moments and Chuck deserved better. In fact whoever Engineered this didn’t have much of a clue.
This is an extended jam in response to the "Fillmore" era of psychedelic jams. You are ignorant about rock n roll. I will be polite and leave it at that. This man is as faultless as he is essential when it comes to the majority of his creative output. One of the founding cornerstones of the genre. Learn something of musical history and get a clue.
I just like it to chill out too. Nothing special of course but it’s rock and roll and it makes a statement for the time and also makes for good chill out music
I'm 31 years old I think chuck berry kicks ass, I'd rather listen to his old songs over the garbage on fm radio nowadays

I remember picking this album up from a small record shop in Queens, NYC...... Phenomenal

Just a phenomenally great album with some incredible blues cuts on it....
I love this record. Underappreciated.

On the other hand, Chuck came out of prison more famous than when he went in, mostly thanks to the British invasion bands!
Brilliant...just brilliant and a whole lot more.
the minute chuck started to play you knew who it was,not like it is these days!!!!!
Awesome stuff by one who knows who to rockin' the blues away ! ! !
Браво!!! Спасибо тебе незабываемый, дорогой Чак Берри!!! Ты непревзойденный, нам тебя не хватает, жаль....
Another word for Rock n Roll is CHUCK BERRY!
- John Lennon
KRAUTROCK CHUCK!!

Plot twist: This was one of the concerts Johnny from the song played.

Boring stuff, four times longer than it should have been. Probably influenced by the psychedelic trend of the time. A black stone in Berry's career!

Better than the 20 minute jams from hippie groups

I act to say i preciated when Berry whore a helmet. Cheers to those sinful thoughts.
Is this a joke? It's awful.
I'm diggin' it.. sounds fantastic
