Better than Last Light in my opinion. Just make sure to get the redux edition otherwise the game is going to feel dated.

The game was very disturbing at times. last light on the other hand is a lot more fast paced it doesn't really take the time to set the atmosphere. U start the game in a brightly lit pre war milatry base and within 10 mins ur on the surface and the surface is a lot more welcoming and green cos it looks like the game takes place during spring or summer. I 100% think the games should be played in order. A lot of the mystery of the dark ones is gone in last light and thats a big part of 2033.

I just finished my first play through of Metro Exodus and, guess what, it took the spot too. This series has given me THE BEST fps games i have ever played, and i am so excited for the next game in the series (whenever that may come).
Exodus was a desperate breath of fresh air for me. Great story imo. Loved the strength of Anna and Artyom's relationship as well as the growth of other characters. Even though Artyom and Anna have had their ups and downs, they have held strong. Something believe it or not, is not show in movies and games hardly anymore are strong traditional relationships. To me, stories like this are inspiring. Anna is a great strong female character and is more important than Artyom as he himself would sacrifice his own life for her. In this since, the story had me on edge for it's finale and in tears. The good ending with the Colonel, omg, wonderful payoff. Little things in the story too tell a lot. Artyom comes back from a mission to see an over joyed Anna waiting for him. She hugs him, pulls back, holds his hand for a minute, then, something no movies or games do, she hugs him again. THIS makes their relationship so believable and heart warming... yet in a nuclear winter. Nothing else that I've watched or played lately, captures that emotion the same way. To many times now adays, movies and games are criticized for not having female leads, in a genre that is predominately male. Males are inspired by females so we relate to the girl in distress scenarios. It's hard for us to relate or care about female leads who only care about making progress in a career as an example. Now, if that female lead was rescuing a male in distress, as weird as that may be, it would be more relatable and heart felt. I prefer characters like Anna, Alyosha, etc over the main characters most of the time anyway, as those represent the people I care about and provide my reason to push forward in this wasteland of a world. Artyom is a selfless character who puts others lives over his, which is something I relate to as I live my life this way and this engaged me beyond most storys of today. A lot of today's protagonists are selfish and egotistical when compared to Artyom, male or female, reason why Exodus was such a nice change of pace.
Unfortunately I don't have a system anymore(life haha) to play Exodus, but I finished 2033(original) in 2010 when it came out. Good memories, I got it on retail and it was the first thing to introduce me to Steam. Finished Last Light in '13 and the redux 2033 last year. Brilliant series, you can actually see the heart put into the game. I've spent quite some time just listening to people talk in the game. I'd recommend the books if you've not read them, it is legit a very intellectual read.

Redux of 2033 mostly improves the graphics, but also adds the last light gameplay mechanics such as the stealth system, weapon upgrading, and some other tweaks that were made for last light. Redux of last light doesn't change the graphics, not on PC anyway, but it does add the "survivor" difficulty mode, which makes it a far better experience for people wanting the more challenging and difficult experience that is more in line with the original version of 2033. Play redux of both games, on ranger hardcore survival, and you're getting what is now the best real way to play the games. They don't recapture the charm and grit of the original version of 2033, in my opinion at least, but they are more polished and less buggy. They do also look a lot better for the most part, and also somehow perform better.
Thank You for calling me a hardcore gamer back when I was a kid. This is indeed one of the best narrative FPS games I have played, right along the Bioshock series.

I was at Target yesterday standing in the video game section in front of the PS4 games about to buy Metro Exodus and three edgy teenagers walked by and asked me, “You play PlayStation?” After I answered in the affirmative, the kid replied, “Oh that’s cool... you play Fortnite though?” I was like... please die.
I’ve only run into the Fortnite posse when I click on “trend” videos thank god ! The Fortnite video thumbnails look like videos wrapped in candy wrappers 🤮🤦🏻♂️🔨 we can thank them for making single player offline story based experiences on the verge of extinction 🤬 that’s the whole reason I play.. METRO Exodus is one of the best story single person FPS I’ve played since TITANFALL 2.. the graphics are completely unique and unmatched.. Titanfall 2 is right up there as well though on a PS4 Pro.. would Die if they put these games on PSVR!! So much wasted opportunities with these games in the PSVR world ! After playing RE7 VR.. wow 😮.. just imagine METRO
Exodus was amazing. While I had a few qualms with it, it's my favorite in the series and in my top five favorite games to date. I'm excited as hell to see what's next in the series.
Artyom's journey could be finished with Exodus indeed. However (and spoiler's ahead!) , i think there is room for Artyom for one last journey, which is to go back into Moscow and get his people and anyone who might want a life outside the tunnels back to their new home. That would close the whole "Cavern Myth" theme of the storyline : "It is not enough for a man to see the light, he must guide others to it".
They could definitely make another one but they'd have 2 choices with story 1: completely freestyle it as to my knowledge Dimitri did not write any books about Artyom making a village in the Baikal, it would most likely suffer from a poorer standard of writing due to this Or 2: make a game based on the extended canon which could be interesting
Played the original 2033 and quit after ~45min during Burbon mission cause it was unrealistically hard. Way more difficult than any games I played till then. Then I realized all I was playing till then was COD & MOH corridor shooter. Returned with Last Light then completed 2033 Redux multiple times over on harder difficulty for the good ending. This game series is a gem.
Someone probably mentioned, probably not, but I think Metro should be experienced with books together, the starter is Game/book Metro 2033, story is same, but book gives more depth and in books you dont have mutants, so you started with game/book Metro 2033, after completing each, go for book Metro 2034, then play Metro Last Light, then read Metro 2035 and finally play Exodus. That´s how you will get complete story, although Metro 2034 focuses on Artyom in 15 % of the whole book and in Last Light you have mention about the story of 2034 in few lines.

Metro is one of those games where you are scanning through games you want to buy and you're interested in this but you never actually purchase it but then years later when you play it you're like how the f*** did I miss this!? This game stole my heart, I ended up playing 2033, last light and exodus all on my PC and holy s*** the frame rate is insane! The graphics are breathtaking I even made the comment that Bethesda should have used these graphics for their fallout series. I had no idea that Metro Exodus had a morality meter as you play which determines if you get the good or bad ending and I got the bad ending the first time so I'm replaying the game using my actual conscience and wow the experience has been beautiful so far, can't wait to get home!
It is rather unfortunate that metro exodus did not become the realistic fallout that I expected it to be. The gun fight gameplay is exceptionally good but making it linear and most of the time we only fight beasts, which truly overshadows how good of an fps it could have become.
This game was free in epic games and dying of boredom in this pandemic, I was alble to somewhat revive my laptop and played 2033 redux. I don't know anything about the game and after finishing 2033 redux this just became one of my favorite games. I plan to play other metrogames too just need a pc to play it. Seeing those monsters always puts in a mood to explore the lore of this series. A masterpiece in my heart
For me, Personally, Both of the Redux Versions gave the Games a MUCH Better Improvement. Metro 2033 had A BUNCH of Bug Fixes and, obviously, Graphical Improvements on both the Fighting Moments and the Graphics of the Objects. Metro Last Light had a BUNCH of work done on the Cutscenes and Further improved the Fighting moments to make the game seem more Realistic. *not to mention they actually added a bullet cap in metro 2033 redux*
hardware means not only gpu i have i5 2400 newer had a problem far cry new dawn devil may cry 5 shadow of tomb ryder no problem but with metro exodus struggle very much also how many ram you have never needed more than 8 gb but with metro i think you need more

It is a great series easily one of my favorite FPS, great story and gun play, and the weapon mod system are fun and really can effect the end product of your weapons +/- . I have only played the Redux versions and Exodus (XBOX) but am totally addicted. And replaying focusing on different weapons and tactics keeps the combat fresh and fun on subsequent replays.
I am sorry but Metro 2033 and LL were pretty easy even on the highest difficulty. Ammunition was plenty, health/filters were never an issue and the Tikhar made every encounter pretty selfplaying, but that didn´t hinder the gameplay for me ... 9,1/10
Comparing the OG and Redux version of Metro 2033 is mental of sorts. I 1st played Metro Last Light back round 2015 when I got it for free with Games with Gold on my Xbox 360, thought it was great, despite I kept getting the sacrifice ending, but then, hearing bout Metro Exodus in 2017 got me interested bout the game again. I got the Redux collection on my Xbox One round 2018. The Redux version of Metro 2033 felt clean and Last Light Redux was a godsend, more opportunities to get more moral points to get the canon ending where you don’t sacrifice yourself and the addition of all DLC, I was hyped. I also got both endings in Metro 2033 Redux and thought it was a blast, helped put so much of what I played through in Last Light into proper context. Next, I heard about S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 and that made me get the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series on Steam, a masterpiece series, though Clear Sky was a bit hard to get into. Then, in 2019, I got the Aurora Edition of Metro Exodus for my PS4, got the good ending on my 1st try, although I wished Damir stayed with the Aurora crew, and I was in awe of how much Exodus evolved from Last Light, truly one of the greatest games I have ever played, and the 2 story DLCs I got for free with the season pass, they were also exceptional as well, Two Colonels and Sam’s Story did a great job expanding the Metro universe. Now we wait for S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 Heart of Chornobyl as we pray for the safety of both the Metro and S.T.A.L.K.E.R devs and they are in good health and spirits on their end. I was 10 years old first time playing metro 2033, and it just became one of my favorite games. If any of you haven’t played it, i highly suggest you buy all the series even the one that’s about to come out.

Metro games are of supreme quality, taking in the account facts such as minimal studio budget and other impossible obstacles. So glad 4A was able to hold their own and amaze us the gamers, with such wonderfully atmospheric games. Thank you guys.
I bought Exodus from epic and its a solid game. I'm a bit disappointed by the writing and the lack of decision making but its totally fun and mostly met what I was expecting. on a scale of 1-10...7.5-10
Metro exodus is a masterpiece loved the first two games but exodus is on a whole new level just hope the epic debacle does not affect the sales too much and hopefully the console sales help it become a success as I for one have bought it on ps4 to support 4A games.

Metro is my second favorite games series and I love playing the games over and over and I can agree as a person who had beaten each game on the hardest difficulties and hardest settings the games are not a walk in the park by any means. The games are amazing visual representations of the books and are some of the best games ever

I just played exodus & I never knew about metro until this year 2021! Best fps game I've ever played since r.e7! While I was playing exodus, I couldn't stop thinking about.. wishing that I can play this game in VR with the AIM controller just like what capcom did with biohazard but with the aim controller instead! That would be epic! People would go nuts over metro exodus vr with the aim controller! It would put games like hitman 3 & r.e7 biohazard to shame! The way exodus is played, it would only make sense to use the aim controller, hell yea!
I played 2033 on PC when I was a sophmore in high school! This game captivated me back then. Same with the first borderlands game haha. Last light was awesome too! I'm waiting to get a HDR 1000 certified monitor and a rtx 3090 to experience metro exodus :D
I'm on the fence about Exodus, I love metro 2033 and I think last light is very goood though the story seemed less focused in my opinion. exudus just seems like fallout: Russia edition. the crafting, the no money system, the more open levels. I dunno, im still getting it since i love the series though.
Great video on one of my favorite franchises. Not to be picky but need to make one correction. They are not oxygen masks. they are just environmental protection masks the filter filters out radiation dust in the atmosphere and other harmful chemicals and gasses. other than that good job on the video.
My favourite was Last Light, never had such a epic game experience ever. The ending in Last Light got me teared up (bad ending), then Exodus came and made it into my heart and the ending was so good i shed a tear to that one too and the whole campaign was good too. But if it wasnt for 2033 i wouldnt have experienced this trilogy at all. So when exodus came out i was so hyped and liked the game so much. Would recommend all games :P

When I first find out about metro 2033, i actual thought it was new story fallout game.
Exodus is so immersive, it has to be the only flatscreen game where I'm muttering which weapons to use, what to spend my crafting stuff on, etc.

I beat Exodus Enhanced Edition twice. Now I am on my 3rd playthrough. It is that good.

I bought all three metros but honestly metro 2033 still looks beautiful and still is demanding with todays hardware
This game was free in epic games and dying of boredom in this pandemic, I was alble to somewhat revive my laptop and played 2033 redux. I don't know anything about the game and after finishing 2033 redux this just became one of my favorite games. I plan to play other metrogames too just need a pc to play it. Seeing those monsters always puts in a mood to explore the lore of this series. A masterpiece in my heart

For me, Personally, Both of the Redux Versions gave the Games a MUCH Better Improvement.
Metro 2033 had A BUNCH of Bug Fixes and, obviously, Graphical Improvements on both the Fighting Moments and the Graphics of the Objects.
Metro Last Light had a BUNCH of work done on the Cutscenes and Further improved the Fighting moments to make the game seem more Realistic.
*not to mention they actually added a bullet cap in metro 2033 redux*
Just got a whole Metro Saga bundle on Ps5, currently in the middle of last light. Great games.

hardware means not only gpu i have i5 2400 newer had a problem far cry new dawn devil may cry 5 shadow of tomb ryder no problem but with metro exodus struggle very much also how many ram you have never needed more than 8 gb but with metro i think you need more

@@ABCD-xg6nr i have i5 2400 8gb ram 1050ti never had a problem with any game using 900p monitor some games run on medium most games run on high settings on 60 fps metro diffirent deal even on minimum settings 720p i had frame drops to 5 fps in combat seriously ?? i am playing devil may cry 5 right now high settings over 60fps all the time
A truly great franchise that should never be forgotten
It is a great series easily one of my favorite FPS, great story and gun play, and the weapon mod system are fun and really can effect the end product of your weapons +/- . I have only played the Redux versions and Exodus (XBOX) but am totally addicted. And replaying focusing on different weapons and tactics keeps the combat fresh and fun on subsequent replays.

I am sorry but Metro 2033 and LL were pretty easy even on the highest difficulty. Ammunition was plenty, health/filters were never an issue and the Tikhar made every encounter pretty selfplaying, but that didn´t hinder the gameplay for me ... 9,1/10
I always went with silenced revolver/hellsing or silenced kalash. Finished on ranger hardcore almost without killing nad the game just felt amazing

Comparing the OG and Redux version of Metro 2033 is mental of sorts.
I 1st played Metro Last Light back round 2015 when I got it for free with Games with Gold on my Xbox 360, thought it was great, despite I kept getting the sacrifice ending, but then, hearing bout Metro Exodus in 2017 got me interested bout the game again. I got the Redux collection on my Xbox One round 2018. The Redux version of Metro 2033 felt clean and Last Light Redux was a godsend, more opportunities to get more moral points to get the canon ending where you don’t sacrifice yourself and the addition of all DLC, I was hyped. I also got both endings in Metro 2033 Redux and thought it was a blast, helped put so much of what I played through in Last Light into proper context. Next, I heard about S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 and that made me get the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series on Steam, a masterpiece series, though Clear Sky was a bit hard to get into. Then, in 2019, I got the Aurora Edition of Metro Exodus for my PS4, got the good ending on my 1st try, although I wished Damir stayed with the Aurora crew, and I was in awe of how much Exodus evolved from Last Light, truly one of the greatest games I have ever played, and the 2 story DLCs I got for free with the season pass, they were also exceptional as well, Two Colonels and Sam’s Story did a great job expanding the Metro universe. Now we wait for S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 Heart of Chornobyl as we pray for the safety of both the Metro and S.T.A.L.K.E.R devs and they are in good health and spirits on their end.

I was 10 years old first time playing metro 2033, and it just became one of my favorite games. If any of you haven’t played it, i highly suggest you buy all the series even the one that’s about to come out.
Damn, watching the original Metro 2033 I forgot how different it was to the redux version :D even though I played all the games on release and then the redux versions. Btw, loved the video, you got a like and a new subscriber :)

The linearity was part of the fun as without the gasmasks, and without the trading system it sounds like a fallout game
Judging by the ending, I Think The next Metro game probably will be about managing, defending and developing your colony.

I bought Exodus from epic and its a solid game. I'm a bit disappointed by the writing and the lack of decision making but its totally fun and mostly met what I was expecting. on a scale of 1-10...7.5-10
Metro exodus is a masterpiece loved the first two games but exodus is on a whole new level just hope the epic debacle does not affect the sales too much and hopefully the console sales help it become a success as I for one have bought it on ps4 to support 4A games.

Metro the book series and games are probably the best books and games I've played / read ever.
I slept on these games. Just got the Gold Edition for PS5, the best $10 i ever spent.
Metro is my second favorite games series and I love playing the games over and over and I can agree as a person who had beaten each game on the hardest difficulties and hardest settings the games are not a walk in the park by any means. The games are amazing visual representations of the books and are some of the best games ever

Downloaded this on my ps5 and man it’s nice as hell and when I get in dark areas I get that paranoid feeling like last of us or resident evil. Very good game man.

I just played exodus & I never knew about metro until this year 2021! Best fps game I've ever played since r.e7! While I was playing exodus, I couldn't stop thinking about.. wishing that I can play this game in VR with the AIM controller just like what capcom did with biohazard but with the aim controller instead! That would be epic! People would go nuts over metro exodus vr with the aim controller! It would put games like hitman 3 & r.e7 biohazard to shame! The way exodus is played, it would only make sense to use the aim controller, hell yea!
I played 2033 on PC when I was a sophmore in high school! This game captivated me back then. Same with the first borderlands game haha. Last light was awesome too! I'm waiting to get a HDR 1000 certified monitor and a rtx 3090 to experience metro exodus :D
I'm on the fence about Exodus, I love metro 2033 and I think last light is very goood though the story seemed less focused in my opinion. exudus just seems like fallout: Russia edition. the crafting, the no money system, the more open levels. I dunno, im still getting it since i love the series though.
Great video on one of my favorite franchises. Not to be picky but need to make one correction. They are not oxygen masks. they are just environmental protection masks the filter filters out radiation dust in the atmosphere and other harmful chemicals and gasses. other than that good job on the video.
My favourite was Last Light, never had such a epic game experience ever. The ending in Last Light got me teared up (bad ending), then Exodus came and made it into my heart and the ending was so good i shed a tear to that one too and the whole campaign was good too.
But if it wasnt for 2033 i wouldnt have experienced this trilogy at all. So when exodus came out i was so hyped and liked the game so much. Would recommend all games :P
If Artyom's story does end with Exodus, then I hope they'd atleast remaster the two previous games.
