Check out the Lalboard, which is a Datahand rebuild. You can achieve the same functionality by using a Hall effect sensor, which offers a longer lifespan for the switch. Additionally, there are capacitive switches similar to the ones found in Model F and Topre keyboards.
yeah some kind of magnetic keys would be cool. i thing that would have nice feel to it and the softness/hardness of the switch could be regulated through magnet strength. awesome tip, thanks :)
