I’ve seen Overkill over a dozen times between 1987 and 2012, and now I sooo badly want to see them live again. It’s been too damn long. I really hope they book a show in SOCAL. I love the new album. It’s amazing.

I think the new album is the best metal release in 2023 and will most likely be album of the year. It’s the best one since 2010’s ‘Ironbound’ and may be ranked around 7th or 8th for me in their catalog.

I must make this statement, and it’s just my opinion. The REAL thrash giant is and has been Overkill for many years. They kick the asses of the “big four” and all others. Blitz, DD, Dave, Derek, and now Jason simply cannot be equaled with respect to pure thrash musicianship in this brutal style. Amazing doesn’t cover it…

I hope Blitz is alright, I know he's 63 so his neck is bound to be stiff, he just puts his head down. It pains me to see him age and no longer headbanging. But he still sounds like he did in his 20's, even better!!!

Booby started out on the first albums and he almost like a Bruce Dickinson and then he evolved to like a more AC/DC type voice. It's very unique and like no one else's. But not sure if he got away from the true singing or what. Maybe he smokes and it changed? Not sure. David Wayne Metal Church was the best at doing the same changing from the growling voice and back and forth and Bobby is the same still now at almost 65 incredible never thought these bands would keep hammering it as hard as they did when they were 18. This band is a thousand times as good as Metallica currently and always was.

Seen them with Megadeth and Warlock back in 88 or9 I jumped on stage and went to exit had a guitar neck had several pics on it I grabbed 3 and went surfing landed in the pit only to get pummeled and punched in the top of the head with a death ring fueled with good blotter and copious amounts of Whiskey Awesome Show !

They play live. That is just the intro before they start that is recorded.
they are using tapes. its very obvious during the guitar solos as they sound inhumanly accurate/precise/clear. The backing vocals from the band are taped such as those shouts during Electric Rattlesnake. Bobby is also supported by a vocal track. His voice sounds overly compressed lacking any natural dynamics that would be in a live vocal performance.
@@rorke47 I have to disagree. It is a good live band and the backing vocals on Electric are by the other band members. DD and Skull do the main backing.
