Great job on this, Austin Sweatt! I would place Wes Unseld high up on this list. Wes took a Baltimore Bullets team with lots of perimeter talent, but little team chemistry and took them to the top of the division. Unseld's defense surprised every great center and he rebounded their missed shots and fired the best outlet passes in history for fast breaks that gave points to speedy guards. He was voted the MVP as a rookie.
Kevin Johnson is more deserving of a spot on this list than Barkley or Chris Paul. KJ had already led the 1989 and 1990 Suns to consecutive WCFs and the 1992 Suns to the 2nd round the year before Barkley was on the team. Along with Jason Kidd and Steve Nash, who were included in this video, Kevin Johnson and those other PGs did a much better job than Chris Paul in instantly turning a team around. Kevin Johnson, Jason Kidd, and Steve Nash all joined teams that had under 30 wins (1988 Suns, 2001 Nets, 2004 Suns) prior to their first year starting with their new teams. All of them immediately took sub-30 win teams to consecutive Conference Finals, or NBA Finals in Kidd's case. KJ did it despite the 1990 Suns being 0-2 in playoff games in which KJ was injured (Game 1 vs Jazz, Game 6 vs Blazers). Unlike Blake and Deandre playing great without Chris Paul against the 2015 Rockets, KJ's best teammates in Eddie Johnson and Tom Chambers played horribly in KJ's absence without his playmaking to set them up. Game 1 vs 1990 Jazz, Game 6 vs 1990 Blazers with KJ injured Tom Chambers - 18 ppg on 10/32 FG (31%), 4.5 TOpg Eddie Johnson - 8 ppg on 4/15 FG (27%) Nash did it despite Joe Johnson missing 3 of 5 games in the the 2005 WCSF and 2 of 5 games in the 2005 WCF due to a broken orbital bone and his best teammate Amare Stoudemire missing the entire 2006 Playoffs, on top of Raja bell being suspended for an elimination game against LA and missing 2 of 6 games in the 2006 WCF. Nash and KJ both averaged 20-10 twice apiece in their 2 Conference Finals runs even with injury issues, joining Magic Johnson (x3) as the only players to average 20-10 for 3+ rounds 2 or more times. The only teams to immediately go from sub-30 wins to at least 2 consecutive Conference Finals are - Kareem's Bucks (1970, 1971, 1972) - 3 round format - Bird's Celtics (1980, 1981, 1982) - 3 round format - KJ's Suns (1989, 1990) - Kidd's Nets (2002, 2003) - Nash's Suns (2005, 2006) Kidd's Nets are the only team to immediately go from sub-30 wins to 2 consecutive NBA Finals.
people give barkley too much credit for 93...the suns without him were great...kj thunder dan and chambers were a great trio and then they added hornacek as well ...smdh ...rambis ervin johnson ...cedric ceballos mark west...gtfoh barkley
Pen Wednesday But KJ Kidd and Nash all took sub-30 win teams to consecutive WCF or NBA Finals in Kidd’s case, going further with lesser teams. Plus the clippers had a winning 42-40 record after Paul left despite every starter other than Deandre Jordan leaving and most of their new roster being injured as well.
Best nba Player list ( my opinion) 1# LeBron 2# Jordan 3# magic 4# wilt 5# Kareem 6# bird 7# shaq 8# Russell 9# Duncan 10# Kobe HM: Oscar Robertson, Hakeem, Isaiah Thomas, Dr J and Dirk
Steve Nash deserved both of his MVPs. David Robinson makes his team better too. Spurs were a lottery team when he was out for the entire season. Before he suffered that injury, Spurs were always winning 60-55 games. Robinson was really underrated.
the nash mvp in 06 was awarded for winning 54 games without amare their leading 23 ppg 10 reb scorer from the previous 2 seasons ..the fact he went down after 2 games and yet the suns barley skipped a beat after losing amare joe johnson steven hunter casey jacobsen jake voshkul and q- rich and really only adding career backups tim thomas eddie house james jones kurt thomas pat burke and boris diaw proved nashs worth...no one else could of kept them at that pace...they were a flawed team..losing 3 of your 5 main socrers starters and still being a top 3 seed is impressive out west
Vince Carter. How can u leave out this great player. before no body cared or knew much about d raptors. Vince not only made d team win allot of games but was a super star that made d team a global sensation. Vince ought to be here big time. He made d raptors so much fun to watch too
The most underrated. He wouldve easily been number 1 on nearly any other team. The fact that he was willing to stick with the bulls and play second fiddle only attests to his devotion to the team and winning championships.
Juwan Dunbar true, but Scottie was the perfect fit by MJ, he could’ve easily fit elsewhere too, and even though Scottie would be hard pressed to get one ring without Jordan, jordan wouldn’t have approached 6 without scottie
Thank you. That was great. One thing those players show is that great players have immediate impact, even the first year they are drafted. We keep hearing about players "developing", and many do, but the great ones have immediate impact, it seems. Jordan was great right away. He did develop. Became smarter, and learned to use his teammates, but he was great right away. We keep hearing about how Zach Lavine is going to develop -- learn defense, become more consistent on offense, etc. If you believe that, I am taking bets.
Didn't watch the whole video but what Moses Malone did was simply incredible. As someone mentioned before he is vastly underrated. He needs to come up in discussion more often.
I also like Nash, and he definitely Helped Phoenix, but I think people underestimate the impact that Amare improving and playing more games Had as well
Orange Man Yeah but the thing was it was during Marbury’s prime not his twilight years unlike A.I. He should’ve stayed with the wolves as he isn’t a 1st option.
Brian Scalebrine: *gets drafted* Nets: instantly go to back to back finals Brian Scalabrine in 2007: plays Power Forward (Celtics finish with worst record in the East) Brian Scalabrine in 2008: plays Center (Celtics finish with best record in the league and win the championship) 2010 bulls record: 41-41 2011 bulls record (after signing Scalabrine): 62-20 Idk what else I have to say here this list was just hating on the 🐐
not to mention moses was a known stat inflator late in games that were over he would miss close shots on purpose to get his own rebounds up and some times did it when the game was close just to see if he could during games ..not that impressive
Dont forget about bosh and Kevin love. Lebron can't even make it to the playoffs in the west without a superteam. Hope AD and cousins will carry lebron to the playoff in the west. Otherwise, Lebron will trade the whole team away.
BJ Hibbert with a team that was 1st in the east the previous year. He didn’t transform them to the extent that this list is talking about. They were already a really good team
With Kevin Love carrying them. Just embarrassing. As good as Kevin Love is, he shouldn't be the best player of the modern Cavaliers. It just doesn't sound right.
You should have gone even further with Jason Kidd, since he did return to the Mavericks and he won a Title there, and not to mention he even went to the Knicks where they did become a playoff team again, but he was a shell of himself by that point.
Elgin Baylor - never saw him play except for this video, but his rebounding numbers are amazing, and he looks like a sharper shooting Dr. J. I believe it.
When Austin was talking about the NCAA Championship Game (Magic vs Bird Vol.1) I thought #5 was gonna be Bird but then I saw Chris Paul and thought he was gonna be 3rd or 2nd or something like that and than I also expected Tim Duncan but we all make mistakes and we all forget greats. Especially when the NBA has been around for 70+ Years! That’s a lot of teams to choose from. That’s like 50+ Seasons for most teams on this list. Great Video. Really enjoyed. Subscribed, Notified, Liked, Commented, Watched!
Steve Nash is super underrated. I mean, two time MVP, and he led those incredible Suns teams of the early 00s, one of the best passers/shooters and yet most people don't respect him at all.
Glen "Big Baby" Davis. His rookie year, the Celtics went from a 24 win lottery team to a 66 win NBA championship squad. That's a 42 win improvement. I'm sure that's not a coincidence.
Elgin Baylor also has the distinction of retiring from a Lakers team that in the same season then without him ripped off 33 wins in a row, won a franchise season-record 69 games, and won the NBA championship for the first time since George Mikan. So, kinda went both ways for him. And then he went on to GM the Clippers, but that is a tragedy for another day.
You're telling me Wilt won ROY, MVP, All-Star MVP, and broke the record for most points in a season, and averaged 37 and 27 IN HIS ROOKIE YEAR!?!?!? How have I not heard this? Dude was absolutely incredible.
Other player's who could have and should have been mentioned are Tim Duncan, David Robinson, and Larry Bird!
Austin Sweatt so why Lebron wasn’t on this list he took a cavaliers team that had the worst record in the nba in 2014, to the nba finals the next year

Game 1 vs 1990 Jazz, Game 6 vs 1990 Blazers with KJ injured
Tom Chambers - 18 ppg on 10/32 FG (31%), 4.5 TOpg
Eddie Johnson - 8 ppg on 4/15 FG (27%)
Nash did it despite Joe Johnson missing 3 of 5 games in the the 2005 WCSF and 2 of 5 games in the 2005 WCF due to a broken orbital bone and his best teammate Amare Stoudemire missing the entire 2006 Playoffs, on top of Raja bell being suspended for an elimination game against LA and missing 2 of 6 games in the 2006 WCF.
Nash and KJ both averaged 20-10 twice apiece in their 2 Conference Finals runs even with injury issues, joining Magic Johnson (x3) as the only players to average 20-10 for 3+ rounds 2 or more times.
The only teams to immediately go from sub-30 wins to at least 2 consecutive Conference Finals are
- Kareem's Bucks (1970, 1971, 1972) - 3 round format
- Bird's Celtics (1980, 1981, 1982) - 3 round format
- KJ's Suns (1989, 1990)
- Kidd's Nets (2002, 2003)
- Nash's Suns (2005, 2006)
Kidd's Nets are the only team to immediately go from sub-30 wins to 2 consecutive NBA Finals.
people give barkley too much credit for 93...the suns without him were great...kj thunder dan and chambers were a great trio and then they added hornacek as well ...smdh ...rambis ervin johnson ...cedric ceballos mark west...gtfoh barkley
Nobody Touches Jordan cp3 has put any team of divas (rivers) and kids with down (blake) to the playoffs.
What about Hakeem Olajuwon ?
They might forgot about him
Pen Wednesday
But KJ Kidd and Nash all took sub-30 win teams to consecutive WCF or NBA Finals in Kidd’s case, going further with lesser teams. Plus the clippers had a winning 42-40 record after Paul left despite every starter other than Deandre Jordan leaving and most of their new roster being injured as well.
Nobody Touches Jordan Can u b my friend.?
Best nba Player list ( my opinion)
1# LeBron
2# Jordan
3# magic
4# wilt
5# Kareem
6# bird
7# shaq
8# Russell
9# Duncan
10# Kobe
HM: Oscar Robertson, Hakeem, Isaiah Thomas, Dr J and Dirk
I think you should add on-screen text while talking about statistics/records for the more visually attentive people
This dude said Dan Ma-hair-ly 😂😂😂
Thank you! I’m not the only one!
WHAT THE HECK?!? Where is LARRY BIRD??
Without larry bird the Celtics were still pretty good
Bruh
Moses Malone was THE first professional basketball player out of high school.
Steve Nash deserved both of his MVPs. David Robinson makes his team better too. Spurs were a lottery team when he was out for the entire season. Before he suffered that injury, Spurs were always winning 60-55 games. Robinson was really underrated.
The Canadian deserved those mvp s
Hell no kobe got robbed.
They tanked on purpose to get Duncan everyone knows this stop using stats without context
Mr.Calculus/TheUnBiasedDude Kobe
the nash mvp in 06 was awarded for winning 54 games without amare their leading 23 ppg 10 reb scorer from the previous 2 seasons ..the fact he went down after 2 games and yet the suns barley skipped a beat after losing amare joe johnson steven hunter casey jacobsen jake voshkul and q- rich and really only adding career backups tim thomas eddie house james jones kurt thomas pat burke and boris diaw proved nashs worth...no one else could of kept them at that pace...they were a flawed team..losing 3 of your 5 main socrers starters and still being a top 3 seed is impressive out west
3:36 "Ma-hare-lee"?
Brian "The Goat" Scalabrine blessed that Nets team. He should be number 2.
Vince Carter. How can u leave out this great player. before no body cared or knew much about d raptors. Vince not only made d team win allot of games but was a super star that made d team a global sensation. Vince ought to be here big time. He made d raptors so much fun to watch too
Scottie Pippen should’ve been there, I know Jordan is the best but without him maybe Jordan would’ve never won a championship
Filo Hari Scottie is so underrated
The most underrated. He wouldve easily been number 1 on nearly any other team. The fact that he was willing to stick with the bulls and play second fiddle only attests to his devotion to the team and winning championships.
u sound crazy Scottie needs mj more den mj needed Scottie
Juwan Dunbar true, but Scottie was the perfect fit by MJ, he could’ve easily fit elsewhere too, and even though Scottie would be hard pressed to get one ring without Jordan, jordan wouldn’t have approached 6 without scottie
Filo Hari honestly jordan possibly would’ve won one? maybe because he had rodman but that’s a slight possibility.
Nice job with making this video, Mr. Sweatt.
Best sg from every team!!!!
Spicy MTN Dew working on that now
AUSTIN WHATS YOUR FAVOURITE TEAM
hakeem olajuwan BEST ROCKET Knicks
Ojeyston dang everyone is a knicks fan
This is a perfect channel not crazy hype or rumors with no proof
6:07 I wasn't ready for this from Shaq 😆😅
Didn't watch the whole video but what Moses Malone did was simply incredible. As someone mentioned before he is vastly underrated. He needs to come up in discussion more often.
So Wilt is a Rookie-MVP? That's crazy! Correct me if I am wrong.
Yep
I also like
Nash, and he definitely
Helped
Phoenix, but I think people underestimate the impact that Amare improving and playing more games
Had as well
Mike Bibby over Jason Williams, Sacramento went a lot further with Bibby.
15:47 i knew it. Team success was not about jason kidd but the goat himsef!
It's funny how 10 people said "first"
Mario Neto Brazil???
ll wssa Yes
First
9 losers and only 1 winner.
Steve Nash was so good. Such a special player. Definitely deserved his MVPs.
8 blocks a game for Shaq as a high scholer🙉😱
Anthony Infante that's normal
LOL?
That's normal. I mean even Anthony Davis aversged 6 blocks per game and I mean that's in college, that's way better competition than in high school.
Wilt averaged 8.8 blocks in 200 NBA games. Lol
Where is Chauncey Billups or Rick Hamilton or Ben Wallace
No Rasheed Wallace either.....
@@kennethpitner7999 facts
Austin you should do top 10 players who left teams and the teams immediately got way worse
Elek Anderson defenitely cavs and heat in that top 10 when lebron leave. Lol
One where a player left and the team got way better would be funnier
Shadow017M warriors Monta Ellis
JCDR Gaming the heat really
@@jcdrgaming1960 except the heat made the playoffs without lebron. Idiot.
Kawhi Leonard should be added to this list. He led the raptors to a championship and won finals mvp in his first season there.
So did Marbury make teams worse? He was replaced by the point guards who made the team better.
stat stuffer..hard to play with
Oddly enough Marbury was ahead of his time. He would flourish in today's game but back then he was too ball dominant.
Orange Man Yeah but the thing was it was during Marbury’s prime not his twilight years unlike A.I. He should’ve stayed with the wolves as he isn’t a 1st option.
Brian Scalebrine: *gets drafted*
Nets: instantly go to back to back finals
Brian Scalabrine in 2007: plays Power Forward (Celtics finish with worst record in the East)
Brian Scalabrine in 2008: plays Center (Celtics finish with best record in the league and win the championship)
2010 bulls record: 41-41
2011 bulls record (after signing Scalabrine): 62-20
Idk what else I have to say here this list was just hating on the 🐐
Moses Malone had 72 rebounds in 4 games?! That's 18 rebounds per game. INSANE!!!
stealth1234567 wilt had a game were he had 44 rebounds in one game
Back in those days that was the norm, back to the basket was the game
not to mention moses was a known stat inflator late in games that were over he would miss close shots on purpose to get his own rebounds up and some times did it when the game was close just to see if he could during games ..not that impressive
Ben Wilson 55*
ihategooglespooks competition
Can somebody tell me what the backround beat is
+ Kawiha Leonard
Kawhi*
No Lebron downvoted.
Joined Heat, 2x Championship. Turned Cleveland into title contender and beat a 73-9 Warriors team.
Dont forget about bosh and Kevin love. Lebron can't even make it to the playoffs in the west without a superteam. Hope AD and cousins will carry lebron to the playoff in the west. Otherwise, Lebron will trade the whole team away.
Kawhi Leonard is carrying the Raptors
The white mamba caught me off guard! 🤣 rolling on the floor laughing fooook 🤣
Isaiah Thomas to the magic 2018-2019 season
David Robinson led his team to a 35 win improvement during his rookie year, which was a record for 25+ years. He should have been on this list.
Kawhi Leonard lead the Raptors to the NBA Championship in 2019 in his first season!
BJ Hibbert with a team that was 1st in the east the previous year. He didn’t transform them to the extent that this list is talking about. They were already a really good team
Dude I've just stumbled across your page and I've smashed through so many of your videos. Keep up the good work
The cavs instantly became booty when Lebron Left.
It wasn't just Lebron who left. The team completely went bust. Even the coaching staff heavily changed.
@@JKTProductionzIncNCo they had no choice
With Kevin Love carrying them. Just embarrassing. As good as Kevin Love is, he shouldn't be the best player of the modern Cavaliers. It just doesn't sound right.
"Dan MehHairly" LOL
This list should be updated. You know why :)
*Laughs in Kahwi*
@@John-gz5mz wow its not like the raptors were a playoff tean before.....
after Kd join 73-9 Gsw. does it make better for the team?
You should have gone even further with Jason Kidd, since he did return to the Mavericks and he won a Title there, and not to mention he even went to the Knicks where they did become a playoff team again, but he was a shell of himself by that point.
The same reason he didnt put Lebron up there.. He did the exact opposite for shaq
Elgin Baylor - never saw him play except for this video, but his rebounding numbers are amazing, and he looks like a sharper shooting Dr. J. I believe it.
Dan Mahairlee. LOL. I'm guessing you weren't watching bball then.
Thunder dan
GOD BLESS
Awesome video man! Forreal. You're the best.
Lol..who tf is Dan M'Hurley? 🤣
Other player's who could have and should have been mentioned are Tim Duncan, David Robinson, and Larry Bird!
DAN MAHAIRLY! LMAOOOOOO
Steve Nash is super underrated. I mean, two time MVP, and he led those incredible Suns teams of the early 00s, one of the best passers/shooters and yet most people don't respect him at all.
Larry Bird lead a 39 win improvement when he joined the Celtics. I thought he'd be #1!
32
CP3 so underrated
Lillard??? He has tooken his team to the playoffs in his rookie year!!!! He also took his team to the 2nd round which they haven't done in 14 years!
clash gamer That was his second year in 2014 and Aldridge was arguably the better player
"Tooken"?? Seriously??
I agree that this list makes since Austin nice list dude
What about LeBron
You should have put the 🐐 GOAT on there M. Jordan
Kidd made the nets fun to watch
Glen "Big Baby" Davis. His rookie year, the Celtics went from a 24 win lottery team to a 66 win NBA championship squad. That's a 42 win improvement. I'm sure that's not a coincidence.
Damn there’s a lot of the number “33”
Elgin Baylor also has the distinction of retiring from a Lakers team that in the same season then without him ripped off 33 wins in a row, won a franchise season-record 69 games, and won the NBA championship for the first time since George Mikan. So, kinda went both ways for him. And then he went on to GM the Clippers, but that is a tragedy for another day.
Players looked in their 40's back then...
dame for the blazers?
"6'0 tall at 10 years old"
N I G G A W H A T
Are u black?
boi that’s CAP
1996: Magic Johnson is the tallest pg
2017: Ben Simmons hold my beer
LeBron will achieve this and become the 2018-2019 MVP 🐐
Bullshit, they will have to battle hard to even make playoffs in West
Lil wappo said no one ever*
D Rose?
You left out Larry bird bruh
Scalaaaaabriniiiii!!! 🐐🐐
But when LeBron left the heat they lost way more and what about the old caves
He told you already the whole roster changed
You're telling me Wilt won ROY, MVP, All-Star MVP, and broke the record for most points in a season, and averaged 37 and 27 IN HIS ROOKIE YEAR!?!?!? How have I not heard this? Dude was absolutely incredible.
Dan Mahaleeee? Try Dan Marlee (Marjerl)
Switch Baylor, Nash, Kid, and Barkley for Kobe Bean, Lebrun, Oscar Robinskies, and MJ and u got the definitive all time GOATS list
Larry Bird was decent too
Lebron left Cleveland and both times you barely heard of them, look at them now
The double standards are amazing
What about kd
