  • I bought a 2016 ex-hire Kubota 008 with various issues and go through it to bring it back up to a decent working condition. In the first part we take a look at what those issues could be and make a list of the parts we are going to need.

Not really my area, but I'd say the route you've gone. I hear a lot of the Chinese ones are copies of "western" ones, protected by copyright laws which basically make it impossible for foreign manufacturers to protect their property. This means the Western companies spend all the money on r and d, following Western safety laws etc. Then counties such as China buy a few, strip them and copy them. Not saying all of China does this, they can and do innovate their own stuff, but it cannot be denied this darker side also happens.

Got tired of buying disposable tractors for yard work. Bought the Kubota with the idea that it will be the last tractor I'm ever gonna buy. Have not been disappointed.
In two years the only thing I've had to do was change fluids and filters added some lights for after dark work and lubed it up. Everything works like the day they delivered it.
In all honesty I would never recommend another off breed brand again.

I'd go used we borrowed small Kubota digger while ago. As we didn't own it didn't spend much time on it greased it and checked the fluids. Unfortunately there was crap in the tank which got sucked up and ruined the pump. Machine still in the field now serval months on awaiting a rebuilt pump. Long story short wish I'd bought a machine and gone through it. As that broke because of a shear lack of maintenance.

I definitely would go down same route of known name brand second hand machine, even with issues as you have done go over it carefully most smaller issues even if time consuming are easy to sort, I’d be wary of one with low hydraulic power etc without doing further investigation but generally if it looks like it’s had some care and nothing stupidly expensive looks to be failing, then why not have a good second base machine that some parts and time will make into a sound useable reliable machine !
