This has shifted my views on EV's for sure, and taken away a lot of the anxiety around leaving combustion engines behind as we will over the next decade. Trust Porsche to pull this off as well. Best car company in the world in my opinion.
The thing also is that with the way they deliver power, EVs are transforming “everyday life” boring cars like Clio into zippy funny cars with the sound confort of a Rolls Royce Phantom. And for 99% of drivers that’s a win too. I’m really really looking for the Mission R
This is the most I've ever smiled at an EV. Genuinely insane car and Steve just makes it better. I think the whole car enthusiasts community needs to give Porsche a round of applause for making this thing as exciting as it is and for showing us that the EV future won't be boring.
Until watching this video, I had never felt convinced about EVs. Steve Sutcliffe and this Taycan GTS have changed my mind. What a powerful piece of automotive journalism this video is!
I keep telling people, don't judge until you've driven it. Really. Steve did a really good job of conveying the greatness of this platform. People think that EV's are boring to drive: this one isn't.
I had no idea that the sport turismo existed, but I'm definitely a fan of it now. The review itself was, as usual with Sutcliffe, terrific. When it comes to EVs, too many channels seem fixated on highlighting the same 0-60, 1/4 mile, et al times. I certainly appreciated that he spoke about steering and road feel rather than harping over stats.
agreed, driving feel is more important for a user because thats what they will be engaging in every day, as opposed to 0-100 times that you will realistically almost never be able to do legally
@@HJCars exactly! This review (and car) speaks more to the driving enthusiast. I think Porsche is using this as a bridge to wean customers off from traditional ICE options. As it stands, this is easily more appealing than the Panamera.

I didn't think I would ever say this, but this EV sounds very good! The gearshift noises had me shouting "whaaaaaaaattt??" It's way more good looking than the Panamera. If you look at them side by, or behind eachother. The Taycan has those 911-hips, less overhang and unique styling.
Amazing video! I’m a car enthusiast and I will forever prefer loud and shouty cars with V8s, V10s and V12s, but I personally think we have to accept the way the world is going and that is EVs… Those cars will never have the same glorious sound of the incredible engines I said before but the future, which is set to be a more eco oriented world, will be like this.
When I was 23, my AC Ace Stage V from Ken Rudd had a copper exhaust, and I was hated by local villagers who could hear me 2 miles away. In my dotage, I can do without the hate of my neighbours and a Good drivers car is all that I desire.

I've had my Taycan 4S for a year now and I still maintain it's probably the best car I've ever driven. And I traded a 911 GT3 on it, just in case you think I haven't driven great cars. :)
Agree 100%. Traded my 911.1S for a Taycan 4S. Don’t regret it for a second. The T4S is blazing fast but it’s best attribute is its ride quality, followed closely by its handling. It hides its 5000 lb mass like a magician. Add plugging in at home and skipping the gas pump, and I’ll never go back to an ICE again. Porsche has a real winner here. Bravo.

I agree but its more about the position in the market this fits in. If you are considering a new top end model s I personally would shell out the extra money for this. It is the real deal. If you are in Model 3 or Y land then this is a very expensive and unrealistic car to buy. Porsche ownership land is close to 100k or more for the serious models.
