Thanks Volvo for lowering the numbers of unalived people from bad air quality globally especially in the world's most populated cities areas recent times. The real priority, especially if you're family lost someone in one of those places in past years where you couldn't even see the traffic lights a few blocks down the road. So many people are very happy being able to see the sun again. 😊

Western and japanese legacy auto as well as big oil is pissed because China, Tesla and South Korea are paving the way for the masses to pay only a fraction of what they pay today for transportation...which means that they will have more money for other things. ICE transportation of the last ten decades was a constant loss for humankind.
With Robotaxis people will only pay 1/10th of what they pay now. They won't have to take care of the vehicles which will be constantly maintained professionally - and they won't have an upfront cost of thousands, 10k, 20k, 30k,...to pay.
Overall the streets won't be plagued with parking cars any more.

I heard several individuals at Salt Shack saying that the market is ripe, so I'm thinking about investing some money in stocks. Is it a good time to buy stock? I have almost $545K in equity from the sale of my property, but I'm unsure what to do with it. Should I buy shares now or wait for a better opportunity?

Many people underestimate the need of a financial advisor until they are burned by their own emotions. I recall that after a long divorce, I needed a good boost to keep my firm afloat, so I looked for licensed consultants and found someone with the highest qualifications. Despite inflation, she has helped me increase my reserve from $275k to $850k.

EX30 is brilliant, but not competitive at its current price. One would easily go for Tesla Model 3 Highland or even current Model Y instead, any day of the week. They have got to lower the costs and the price tag to stay relevant.

Volvo's Pure BEVs are slaying it in Europe, not so much in the US and China, although their PHEVs are doing well in the US. I've always loved the Volvo's we've owned, but now we own 2 Model Ys, but I like keeping up with Volvo. They need to get the EX90 out fast, and get on with an EX60. The EX90 will sell well in the US like the old XC90. It's the right size for the US market. That's why they're building it in the US.

Cheapest Volvo EX30 in the Netherlands is €37.000 with a range of 270km.
That is about €10k more than the Citroën ë-C3 Max that has at least the same range, and probably more comfortable.
Volvo is faster at the 0-100 time, is 20cm longer and can charge with 134kW in stead of the 100kW from the ë-C3.
The Volvo has not much extra for that €10k.

the brand does as a whole and software issues should be easily fixed, not sure why this is plaguing an otherwise excellent brand. Fortunately it seems like the issues are infotainment focused and could point to the specs of the hardware in the center console. Nevertheless ev buyers are leery right now with just about every brand having software or 12v battery issues. Resolving that should be priority 1, along with pushing for lv2 charger subsidies for buyers.

The EX30 is a good looking car. If there was ever a legacy brand tailor made for selling EVs it’s Volvo. They could’ve sold their customers electric cars back in the ‘70s no problem. Some used to call Volvos “Cars made for people who hate cars.”
In other words they are synonymous with hyper practical, very safe and dependable modes of transportation designed specifically to serve humans in the most efficient way possible.
I’m actually surprised this car looks so bitchin’! I guess they’re owned by China now but alrighty. Hopefully there are still a couple severe Nordic engineers there who just don’t care about being flashy cool.
My girlfriend had a 240GL 4 door when I met her back in the ‘80s and that thing was literally un-killable. So bland, it made anybody standing next to it look like a super model. THE most practical, boring, monotonously trouble free conveyance I’ve ever experienced. I can’t even remember what color it was.

Here in the Netherlands Volvo is almost on-par with KIA of becoming the best-selling car brand (total car sales, combustion and EV) for the first half of 2024 they sold 17k units out of which 60-70% was EV. In comparison a brand like Ford sold about 30k units per year in the 2000's, 20k units per year in the 2010's . First half of 2024 Ford sold 5K units.. Another comparison, Tesla sales first half of 2024 was 13 K.
