1:42 spot on, I believe lums MBA curriculum is very very intense, extremely academically rigorous and managerial oriented. That needs to change I guess, I think they need to take some lessons from GSB MBA where students don't even disclose their grades to the employers and focus more on connection building and entrepreneurship.
100% agreed. I myself understood this culture from my university friends, so I just took admission in Virtual university, so i can study from where i want (Coursera, Udemy etc) and just give exams here. also because i have alot of my own work (online work, making business), due to which it suits me. Other than that, Keep it up.
The rot starts form the ratta system at the bottom and goes all the way up to the institutions that you mentioned. The system encourages you to be highly exam centric, not learning centric.
They do it because they don't want the student to pass or be educated, but to fail them so that the student pays another semester fee for the supply exam that the students will have to take in order to pass and get the bachelor's degree.
Great point … if your students are failing, its teacher’s failure. He should be scrutinized that what you had been teaching for the whole year or semester that your own students are unable to pass it.
I'm deeply saddened to hear that such incidents occur in some of the top universities in Pakistan. I've always believed that LUMS is unique and stands out from other universities in Pakistan. Do you think such incidents also occur at LUMS? Most of the faculty have their PhDs from Ivy League and other top universities, so it would be disappointing if they were involved in such behavior. As an alumnus of LUMS, do you believe that the university, which is arguably the best in Pakistan, would deny such incidents, or do they also occur there?
I personally think this is the norm in Pakistan. Hence, it is followed everywhere! Even though some instructors try not to but mostly I’ve witnessed this everywhere.

Takes a lot of courage to do what you did, so happy you shared that

Yes, even though the system of board exams doesn't apply to these Universities, however the mentality is the same sadly.
I've been from FAST and I can relate to what you said. Best teachers were those which had the highest fail ratio of students. makes no sense
makes no sense anywhere
Underrated content for sure. These issues should be highlighted on the front page.
Thanks a lot
Anam, your content is GOLD.
Thank you so much
Atleast someone is talking about our issues.

If you are comfortable sharing you are teaching at which university and which subject?
I teach econometrics and macroeconomics and have taught at various institutions

Unfortunately, that's true too in some cases

Exactly completely agreed
Mam, why is there so much hatred and revenge in educational institutions? 😢 Education teaches a person awareness and respect
This isn’t hatred or vengeance
It’s just that tbe educational norms and standards have been set this way and it is difficult to break out of them now
@@AnamSaeedNow Thanks for your kind Reply Mam.

I have UK bachelor along with Professional qualifications
That’s great MashAllah

This bell curve is a curse for our institutes.
