I'm currently deployed to the Middle East. Watching your videos has really helped the time to go by. I'm talking my wife and girls on an epic road trip when I return very shortly and will be visiting many of the spots you've shared in your videos. Thank you!
Hey Joshua!! Waking up to this comment made our entire week so thanks so much!! We even posted it to our Instagram Story: @theotherside_vlog This is exactly why Ana and I have been making RUclips videos. Letting people come on our adventures and plan there’s too!! WOOT WOOT and thank you for your service
Totally agree Kerri you really haven't experienced the Narrows unless you have felt the solitude of the Narrows. Because there are only a few campsites they limit the number of passes so you don't run into people until the next day.
I'm going top down in 3 weeks for the 3rd time. this is easily #1 or #2 in the entire state. only one that possibly beats it is buckskin gulch. never trust an out of stater for advice on best places to see. 🤷♂️😭
I've lived in Utah my entire life. I'm an avid hiker and traveler. Sometimes when I think I've been to every nook and cranny of the state, I realize that I've barely scratched the surface!
lived in Utah for 6 years and half. Deeply in LOVE with this AMAZING STATE!!!!!! I will come back to Utah AGAIN FOR SURE, the best place on the earth ever!!!!!!
Even if you in utah for 6 months, there will still be more to explore, it's my favorite state in america. So glad you both got to explore it. I liked that you covered more easily accessible trips for all age groups.
I've been here for 23 years now, and I've been visiting for 20 years before that. This state has endless, and I mean endless, places to explore. From the surface of Mars around Hanksville, to the Candy Cliffs, to the High Uintahs, the west desert, the Might 5 national parks, the countless state parks, lakes, rivers, canyons, etc. UT is a difficult place to really wrap your head around.
That other worldly landscape of Goblin Valley has definitely captured a good deal of attention. Several Movies were filmed there, including Galaxy Quest starring Tim Allen.
The Narrows in July that way you appreciate the cool water The best part of the canyon is after the split at Orderville canyon if you didn’t get that far you missed a lot
I love going to state parks and monuments more than national parks, much less crowds and still absolutely gorgeous! In my opinion the national monuments in Utah are even better than the national parks, so refreshing to see vlogs that shows the non-national parks destinations!
They have special neoprene socks, special shoes and dry suits you can rent to keep warm in the cold water when hiking The Narrows in Zion. If you're not prepared, then yes the cold would affect how you would rate that hike. With preparation you would have enjoyed it more. I didn't know the waters of Sand Hollow were so warm. I've lived near by much of my life and never been there. Thanks for the info. Great video! Thanks for sharing.
Ahhh so happy you got the CaliCases they will be perfect for Utah 💪🏻 Thanks so much for watching and we couldn’t be happier that we could help in anyway 🤗
Going to SLC, UT for 6 days in January 2022 Business trip and training demo of new equipment 1 or 2 days Not in shape for skiing anymore (college days), more sight seeing. From the North Shore, Hawaii, live near Haleiwa and Shave Ice shops Thinking I'll just drive around aimlessly...? Wondering which hotel to stay at...??? Selected a flight to stop over in San Jose to see my brother and realized later my layover is from 10: pm - 6:am.
The Narrows definitely needs to be done in the middle of summer otherwise it can be chilly with some of the wind, but it is definitely worth it, not overrated at all, especially if you’re going from the top to the bottom which is a pretty big commitment, but as you said, more beautiful once you get into the middle of it past the entrance with the crowds. And yes, Angels Landing is absolutely epic
Great video, my first. Yant Trail is unbelievable, I can't wait. Thanks for showing me. Video moves fast, full of info, no annoying music, and great shots. PS CaliCase was just what I was looking for.
As a life long adventure in Utah this is very well done. I think lake Powell is one of the greatest hidden treasures in America. Crazy you could share so much without even getting to the amazing mountains we have here.
Thanks Adam this comment really means a ton! Glad we could show off Utah well because we really think it's a must visit place. Have to go back soon because we missed a ton
MUST SEE... Add this to your bucket list.... Rainbow Bridge National Monument, Utah. Take a Lake Powell boat ride from Page, AZ. through narrow canyons, weaving in and out. At one point, the tour boat has only an inch or two on both sides as it goes through narrow spots. At another place the boat had to back into a narrow spot in order to make progress toward the massive arch. It is one of the largest in the world. Rainbow Bridge is incredible!!!!!
I moved to Utah 14 years ago. I've been to these places. Utah is more on mountains and beautiful rock formations. But i miss the beaches ⛱. Still hate snow. It's picture perfect but lots of inconveniences.
You gotta go to the National Parks in the off season (December/Janaury) or shoulder seasons (late October/November, March/early April) if you want to avoid the crowds. Yeah you might need more clothing and some trails might be closed, but who wants Disneyland crowds?? And yes go to the lesser known places in Utah... there are 100's to discover. We did the Narrows (the narrowest section in Zion Canyon) in late January and rented dry suits and the foot gear and a walking stick at an outfitter and it was one of the coolest things we have ever done and with VERY few people. We wanna go back and go do the "Top Down" Narrows trek where you walk the whole river trail from the very top to the bottom and camp overnight.
We are looking at doing it in Dec actually. Yeah I can't hike to Angels Landing or into Arches very far. But can always go back in the fall. I want to experience these places with no crowds first.
Utah has it all!! Amazing, beautiful mountain ranges and skiing up north, to the orange and red colored southern part of the state, perfect for hiking. People are traveling from around the world just to visit this amazing state. Also, southern Utah has been called god's country. Almost like a different planet just like goblin valley....
The Narrows is awesome and beautiful. You just have to be prepared with proper shoes and clothing. Biggest key is, go first thing in the morning. You’ll be nearly alone and get to enjoy the canyon and the beauty of it. On the way out, so many people are crowding through it kills the experience. Key is, go early!
Love these, Utah has an abundance of locations to explore. The Narrows is one of our favorite in Zion. We'd recommend dressing warmer, bringing lunch and going down both paths further. It is worth the views with leaving the crowds! Another amazing slot canyon is just outside of st George, its headed north right off the highway called kanaraville falls. Similar setting as the narrows, without the crowds, but go in prepared. Pack a sweatshirt, check the weather and bring water and food. Also goblin valley has 2 beautiful slot canyons called little wild horse and bell that is a loop so you can hike a huge circle. These are just my favorites, but so many more to explore!
Just watched your video, we’ll done! I’ve hiked the Zion Narrows from top to bottom twice. I know that you can’t do that any longer, but it’s seriously the best hike I’ve ever done. I would agree the bottom up is not as fun. Angels Landing is other worldly and I agree it’s highly recommended. I’ve hiked the trail over 20 times and it never disappoints.
If you enjoyed Monument Valley, drive north a bit back into UT and you get Valley of the Gods. Which is extremely less popular, but no less beautiful. It's a sort of hidden gem where you'll have it pretty much to yourself. Also you get the Moki Dugway road you can drive up the huge cliff on for stunning views. The salt flats in the rain season are also stunning as they fill with very shallow pools of water that are super still and reflect the sky and horizon. It's extremely otherworldly. Angel's Landing is... impossible to describe. The hike itself, the view. The feeling of standing on a ridge 1,500 feet up that's only a few feet wide... unique in all the country.
I spent one Spring night alone at the top of Angels Landing, the meteor shower, shooting stars was non stop and spectacular. Zero light pollution and the best seat in the United States. I highly recommend doing so if the opportunity to visit Zion.
I did a 7 hours hike in the Narrows a few days ago. We rented the shoes, pants et socks and we were not cold. Even our leggings under the pants was dry. We had the best time but left super early in the morning. On the way back we saw a lot of kids and people without the good equipment. If you go more then 1 1/2 or 2 hours you are gonna be almost by yourself! My top 1 hike so far!
The Narrows is not overrated. I live in Hurricane, Utah, and have taken friends and family to hike the Narrows. The Wave(hard to get a permit) and Kannaraville, you also need to visit.
We did the narrows a few weeks ago and there was SO MANY PEOPLE! The water was muddy and shallow and very difficult to walk through....but I'm glad we did it.
I am loving your videos; am planning a 3 week work-vaca trip to Utah in Apr/May with my co-workers. Half the fun is the anticipation so these videos are perfect right now!
I live 45 minutes from Zion National Park. The narrows can be a great hike of done at the right time in the right way. Angles Landing is the best hike though.
I'm planning a trip to Utah in April. You guys totally convinced me to check out Bryce. This video is super helpful. Btw, where exactly in Bryce is 12:48 ? any tips on how to get there? It looks absolutely gorgeous. thanks in advance.
haha i saw this and clicking so fast i lived in utah for more than half my life i loved it there i was very lucky to have parents that love nature and national parks(my mom is a natinal park geek) I am going there in a week to visit i m so exicted to hike the Y for the first time!!!
I was 14 and my mom took a group of us up Angel's Landing. It was so much fun and scary. When we got to the top my friend and I were taking off our back packs and my Gatorade fell out and fell off the cliff... when anyone asks me what scared me the most, that was it. I didn't quite realize till that moment how careful you have to be because it's only one wrong move.
I lived there for almost 30 years and most of this I have never been to. I had to move out of state and come back just to go to some of these places. And yes, Angel’s Landing is beyond terrifying and beyond worth it.
I live in Utah, and the best place to see petroglyphs is Nine Mile Canyon. Other beautiful Utah spots: The "Wave" at Coyote Buttes by Kanab, Mirror Lake in the high Uinta mountains, Snowbird and Alta ski resorts hiking trails, Park City Main Street, Grand Staircase - Escalante, and Dead Horse Point by Moab.
If you're going to do The Wave... you really need to plan ahead. It's an extremely difficult one to get access to. As in you apply online and it's a lottery with zero guarantees. You can show up day of if you're really willing to risk it. Those chosen are given a map and a trailhead. And not many are allowed per day. It is insanely epic, but probably one of the most restricted hikes in the country. Like Mt St Helens levels of restricted.
@@ian.and.ana. :D so awesome indeed Pretty sure I follow y’all on iG, give me a follow back! Same username on there. Binged you guys two weeks ago and am just impressed with the quality of content and value you guys provide. 🌈🦋❤️ that experience you two had in Bryce Canyon was beautiful, btw 🌸
Saw the Tribe jersey...had to subscribe. Go Tribe!!! Also...super interested in getting out west like you guys. Can't wait to take your advice and get to Utah. Super informative vid..thanks for posting.
So crazy! Tonight I watched your videos for the first time to remind me of my month long Utah trip in 2020, and I saw my dogs in your video!! My Frenchie Ruby is in the video in the stroller at Horseshoe Bend , Bella my shih tzu is there too but she was ducked down. So crazy. I had taken a picture of your van because I thought it was a great size lol and you guys took video of my girls :)
OMG THIS IS AMAZING!! We loved your dogs so much. WOW social media is wild and it probably really surprised you 😮 This is such a cute memory. WOW do we miss our road trip days in 2020 right now too. Hope you have had great years and hope your 2023 is even better!!
So glad youtube's algorithm brought me to this channel! The video you two captured at Angel's Landing is the reason why I need to check this place out with my own eyes! I'm so caught up in the urban life that I'm completely unaware of the natural beauty tucked away in America! Let's hope I won't be #11 on Angel's Landing hit list this coming summer! btw was there cell service at these parts?
How did you go around using drones on the parks. As far as I know, drones are baned on National Parks. I would like to use a drone too. Let me know how you did it.
Drones are illegal at every national and most state parks around the USA! What we did was take drone shots on our way to these parks and the landscapes were pretty much identical to what the park had

Thanks for your service.
I did the entire Narrows hike overnight when i was a teenager... it was definitely not overrated. One of the highlights of my life.
This is an unfortunate case of them not doing there research.
Totally agree Kerri you really haven't experienced the Narrows unless you have felt the solitude of the Narrows. Because there are only a few campsites they limit the number of passes so you don't run into people until the next day.
Definitely a perfect hike late spring early winter. Zion late spring is also just perfect.
I'm going top down in 3 weeks for the 3rd time. this is easily #1 or #2 in the entire state. only one that possibly beats it is buckskin gulch. never trust an out of stater for advice on best places to see. 🤷♂️😭
ps, hi Kerri lol
I've lived in Utah my entire life. I'm an avid hiker and traveler. Sometimes when I think I've been to every nook and cranny of the state, I realize that I've barely scratched the surface!
How I feel everytime I go out
Man I can’t believe how much I take for granted living in this beautiful state! Must explore more!
Isn't it crazy!! Utah is one of those states that has unlimited posibilities
lived in Utah for 6 years and half. Deeply in LOVE with this AMAZING STATE!!!!!! I will come back to Utah AGAIN FOR SURE, the best place on the earth ever!!!!!!
It's amazing!!
delicate arch, never been during sunrise, but during sunset its beautiful!!!! the sun reflects right off of the arch and the arch glows
Even if you in utah for 6 months, there will still be more to explore, it's my favorite state in america. So glad you both got to explore it.

Lived in utah my whole life and still need to visit these Southern Utah beauties. Thanks for the much needed reminder to go see my state

I have lived in Utah my whole life. Next time you plan a trip, I’d recommend visiting Goblin Valley. This place is to unreal.
We have heard great things about Goblin Valley!! We need to get back to Utah ASAP
Goblin Valley is epic. Went there for the first time in 2015. Highly recommended***
And there is great boondocking right outside of the park. Highly recommend.
@@ian.and.ana. Check out Meadow Hot Springs, too for a unique diveable soak.

I want to move to Utah. It is so beautiful.
I spent one Spring night alone at the top of Angels Landing, the meteor shower, shooting stars was non stop and spectacular. Zero light pollution and the best seat in the United States. I highly recommend doing so if the opportunity to visit Zion.
That sounds like a dream!! Gives us a reason to go back and enjoy angels landing again
Bryce Canyon and Zion are some of my favorite National Parks! Still need to go to Arches in Moab... one of these days!
I'm in utah and your video helps me thank u

That was from the bottom of Wall Street. Yes they mentioned the only time to see it without a bunch of other people would probably be at dawn
So happy we could show you how awesome Bryce is!! Was one of our fav national aprks

i live in utah, you have to go to the narrows when its a super hot day!!!
Yeah we need to go back ASAP
You really can't go wrong at any of Utah's national parks. But, Arches and Zion's are certainly my favorites!
They are almost unbeatable
Please rent a web suite for narrows. That makes the experience amazing.
My fav place to travel to in Utah is ofc Bryce Canyon well it’s pretty and my names Bryce!

Sand hallow beach is my favorite spot.
Utah is amazing ! So much beauty
I lived there for almost 30 years and most of this I have never been to. I had to move out of state and come back just to go to some of these places.
And yes, Angel’s Landing is beyond terrifying and beyond worth it.
Thank you guys! I’m planning a road trip in the US southwest and love your videos❤️
Yay!!! Gosh the Southwest is something special and we are so dang happy you found our videos helpful WOOT WOOT! So excited for you
We visited Springdale over the weekend. It was amazing.
I need an excuse to make a Utah trip. It's beautiful. Thank you for destination ideas.

Happy you got some value and fun out of the video Geoff!! Really loved sharing this one with all of you

Utah is my home and the prettiest place in the world !!!
Thank you for the great suggestion we love IDK BBQ and massy trail hike leading to the waterfall!
Thanks the best video I ever seen
How did you go around using drones on the parks. As far as I know, drones are baned on National Parks. I would like to use a drone too. Let me know how you did it.
Drones are illegal at every national and most state parks around the USA! What we did was take drone shots on our way to these parks and the landscapes were pretty much identical to what the park had
@@ian.and.ana. Thank you for the response.
