As a pianist, one thing that is visible to see in almost every youtube video about the 3rd movement is the lack of attention to expressions. Paul has the best of them by far compared to the others. Well done!

Beethoven suggested to play 1 part with the right pedal constantly depressed so that the sound resembled a Pantalon piano without mufflers. In those days, the piano sound was short, the pedal pressed down constantly did not cause dissonance. Currently, the sound of the piano is much longer, so it is impossible to play with the right pedal constantly depressed, because it causes a sound jumble. The harmonic pedal is good here. Its use makes the sound of a modern piano closer to what Beethoven wanted.

This method may finally get me to start learning the piano I bought a few months ago. I've been printing a lot of sheet music from a service I signed up for, but you're showing me how the sheet translates to the keyboard. Should make it much easier for me. It's been taking me forever to translate the sheet music myself, hopefully I'll be able to just copy your movements and that'll help teach by example how to translate. Presently, I have a ton of songs printed out (printing this one now), but haven't played even one.

Bars 32-36 to me seem like the soul trying to climb out then falling into a dark abyss. The moonlight title is misleading. Stokowski made an arrangement for symphony orchestra that captures to a great extent the nature of the immortal first movement. Regards and thank you for the video.

Well, it sort of goes from: "I can play this" to: "Oh mon Dieu! is that Rachmaninoff?"
My eyes can read the music right along, but I know my own skills drop after the first movement. So,, yeah.. this is quite difficult. He plays it effortlessly and without fatigue.
