Since our last fly on a chapter like always is not the best, I usually fly on Jetblue and it was great, then on American which was also great. And none of our screams get broken, the only bad thing was the desperation to arrive!
Thank you for an amazing interior tour of the JetBlue Phase 2! I'm working on a graphic novel and absolutely needed detailed interior shots like this to wrap my head around the conceptual space! You're a hero!
Jetblue leaving LGB is a good thing for JetBlue to grow in the LA area. LGB was slot controlled because of the noise restrictions. So it makes sense why they left. Though I never been to LGB to say it's a good or bad airport.

Used to work for America West and we would fly from Phoenix to Long Beach for $5, party all weekend and fly back to Phoenix EARLY Monday morning for another $5 and be back at work at Sky Harbor that afternoon...and LGB hasn't changed in appearance since then! (Late 80's and early 90's)
Starting on the train is a great way to start a trip report video! Sorry about the weird IFE situation, and I don’t blame you as I wouldn’t wanna switch seats either. Can’t believe after all of that your screen finally decides to work when the aircraft parked at the gate in SLC!
I have been on the JetBlue on the a320 and a321 with the new direct tv remote on the arm rest if you didn’t know the a321 ife’s are touch screen as well so you don’t accidentally bump the person sitting next to you’s remote you should definitely try mint to London next year on JetBlue
When you board a flight like this you always check to make sure your IFE is working before you depart. If it not then you need to alert cabin crew so it can be fixed Waiting after take off is like impossible asking them to fix something in the air. So since your IFE is not working you need to reach out to Jetblue Corporate HQ most likely they will offer you voucher, or a credit towards a future flight but then again since you failed to notify them before leaving they probably wont do anything.
I see it was a typical bumpy arrival into Salt Lake City. As to IFE's...let me top you one. Virgin Australia, full plane, Syd to LAX and my IFE didn't work properly...that was 14 + hours of flying.
The seatback screens are made by Thales, which American also uses. I fly American quite often and whenever the screen won’t work, you push and hold the power button to force it to power off, and then you can power it back on. Usually works. Sadly American is doing away with the screens, but at least JetBlue is keeping them.

Holding down the power button will reset the IFE. If that doesn't work then the FA can reset the tvs individually. Maybe she was unaware due to not being familiar with the phase 2 IFE.
sorry about your broken ife...next time you can hold the power down for a few seconds until the screen goes black, and it’ll do a hard reset this obviously only works on Phase 2 aircrafts. 👍🏼👍🏼
Dude sometimes you seem to have to worst luck! Haha, but other than the IFE screen, jetBlue is hard to beat as far as economy product goes. They seem to actually be adding things rather than taking away, *cough cough, I'm looking at you American and United". Great report as always! And then the IFE decided to work at the end, seems like a setup to me. lol.
Sorry about your screen. The display does that when the screen has too much old info stored in it and it needs to be cleared. Hope next time your screen works bro.

Reset for IFE is done if 5 or more screens are in-op. If it's less than 5 then Inflight Crew member will offer to either switch your seat( which you declined) or give you a voucher for the inconvenience. There are procedures and regulations around doing a reset. Hope that clears things up.
Poor Emilio. I have had a broken screen on an international flight that was full in first class and they did nothing. I sat for over 5 hours with nothing. My screen was the only one not working and the FA could not be bothered. Glad you survived.
False, phase 2 retro fits on the 320 and 321neo allow for individual resets. Phase 1 tv system where there are remotes on the arm rest are all or nothing.

Two years ago, I had an Even More Space Seat and the TVs in our rows weren't working. FA offered the same suggestion of just moving to a core seat, even though I had paid extra for the extra legroom seat. Complained to them on Twitter and they gave me a $15 travel credit (that I never got to use before it expired). Woo? Given that B6 likes to brag about having a TV at each seat since they were founded, you would think they would at least strive to make them work and/or deal with broken TVs sooner.

btw if you ever have a broken IFE you can hold down the power button for 10 secs if not power and home button for 10 secs. that will hard reset it
If that doesn’t work the FA should be able to reboot your seat or row.
The chances of both of your IFE screen's being broken is 1 out of 26,082;

On their older aircraft they even installed new overhead bins, wall covers, and bathrooms

Hey, on the Avant system whenever your screen is not working hold the power icon for 10 seconds and the tv screen will reset.

OMG THAT SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME on JetBlue flight 0007 FLL-LAS right after takes off they reset the IFE and they did the same thing they did to you

For the broke IFE screen all you need to do it hold the power button down for ten seconds and the screen will do a reboot and come back up!

I honestly like the color scheme of the phase 1 retrofit better than this one.
Being tall I will miss that extra two inches of space but it's nice that JetBlue has resisted the impulse to pack in more and more seats.

I traveled with JetBlue and was a great experience, the bad part was that the Wi-Fi didn’t work all the flight (was a 6 hour flight)
