I like Dylan. Even in the face of iniquity, he's always so rational and fair-minded. As for Hugh Grant not enjoying starring in films, I have to agree - I'm not keen on him doing that either.
I grew up seeing little actors all the time in the '80s and '90s, then it all dried up after CGI FX took hold and became more affordable in Hollywood. There are several reasons beyond technology why I think that happened, one of them is the unfortunate perception that people with physical abnormalities are box office poison is a new-ish thing. As Hollywood scrambles to meet diversity, equity and inclusion quotas, we've lost so much of the natural diversity of different body types and styles of people on screen that we too for granted decades ago. I absolutely believe any actor should be able to play any role they want, without fear of offending anybody, yet that's not the same as saying every casting choice is valid.
Piers is the massive size wonka. I don’t know of any other media personality that holds such grudges. He has history with high grant from his time as a newspaper editor. Well actors with dwarfism cant do roles of normal people, so why should we let them do the roles of the dwarf charachters!? Being a actor with dwarfism is hard enough because of the limited roles!
He literally said on the video he is looking for more roles whether it be dwarf roles or normal size roles. It's the whole reason they're having this debate but in reverse.
Tomorrow's headline: 'Polar Bear Takes Center Stage on Piers Morgan Show, Protests Brown Bear's Plane Role in Arctic Documentary!' Looks like the bears are clawing their way into showbiz drama!
“The judgment was damning on the involvement of senior editors and executives, saying they were fully aware of what was going on. Among those was high-profile broadcaster Piers Morgan, who has become a vocal critic of Harry and his wife Meghan. He has always denied any knowledge of phone-hacking.”
I was just thinking to myself, what about the Lord of the Rings trilogy? That was kind of split down the middle for using actors to play Hobbits on screen that were normal height and other shots using smaller folk to make things fit correctly in other shots where you don't see their faces up close. Not every Dwarf will have very charismatic acting skills on screen but with the Lord of the Rings trilogy I think they did it right as they employed both normal sized and dwarf actors.
It’s because they are adapting a series of books, where Hobbits and Dwarves in those stories are separate creatures from humans, and are not humans with a genetic issue like real world dwarfism.
No thats not the case. The man in this clip was on this same show saying that he thought dwarf-actors should have played the dwarf-parts in the latest Snowwhite-movie and not ”normal-size”-actors.
The dwarves should get together and start funding their own films, where they re-make other movies but with all dwarves. I'd watch a dwarf version of John Wick, a dwarf Rambo or Rocky would be awesome. Hell, re-make any movie with all dwarves and it would be entertaining.
God Bless to all reading this. So. Cal American 🇺🇸 here. Wonka is officially premiering tomorrow December 15th, which is my mom’s birthday 🎂 Already booked us tickets to see it at our movie theater. I just want to relax and enjoy the movie with her. If Hugh Grant “hated the role,” why did he do it then? I mean I don’t know his financial situation but his pocketbook isn’t hurting. I wish a dwarf actor could have been casted. John Rhys Davies is 6’1 and played the dwarf Gimli in Lord of the Rings and never seemed to complain about it. Richard Armitage played Thorin Oakenshield and is 6’2. Again not one complaint. Then again. It’s is Lord Of The Rings. Can’t complain about a movie that massive and successful or the series rather. Despite Hugh’s moaning I hope to enjoy the movie since the same people that produced Paddington and Harry Potter are behind this movie I am sure it will be lovely to watch. Sad how people can’t enjoy movies anymore without fixating on the drama llamas backstage. I agree with this man and Piers 100 percent. This was the problem with the original West Side Story. Not one actor was Puerto Rican except for Rita Moreno. All the “Shark,” boys had brown makeup on them to make them appear more “Latin.” Natalie Wood was Russian playing a Puerto Rican girl. I’m not in any way against anyone playing a role but to me they should have cast a dwarf actor to play the Oompa Loompa instead of a normal size actor. Hugh knew and is bitching about it and should keep his mouth shut IMO. Be grateful that he’s still getting roles in movies at his age. Not that he’s super old but you get the idea. Timothy looks like he will be doing a fabulous job! ❤️👏❤️ Love to all from America 🇺🇸
It’s about phone hacking that Hugh Grant and Prince Harry is winning in court. Piers Morgan is petty vindictive and mean spirited. Hugh Grant is making fun of himself and his shtick is complaining about everything. His portrayal is funny and entertaining. Maybe have a competition with other actors and see who does it better.
I think dwarf roles should go to dwarves, but I’m gay and don’t understand why gay actors need gay parts. Is it not straight actors who normalised gay stories in Hollywood? Also, and this is more to the point, LGBT actors AREN’T limited to LGBT roles, where dwarves clearly are limited to dwarf roles. Make it make sense?
I agree with you. Dwarf's have a specific physical condition. Which limits the roles available. I agree with the "actors are acting", yes, but there are a number of Dwarf actors today and rehearsals and picking the best actor is very possible. I think when people say, the best actor should be chosen, they are assuming that bigger named actors, who have had more roles under their belt would automatically win the roles. That's a bit hypocritical and an assumption. There have been many movies where Dwarf actors were cast and did excellent work. So why not give them more casting chances. It isn't like big named actors are starving to death because there aren't enough roles and opportunities for them. And why in the world did this become political?! If you ask me, if it wasn't for CGI, there would have been more roles that it simply makes sense to cast Dwarfs in roles of little people. So with CGI acting has fallen to the way side. Fair enough for Hugh Grant playing the role, I see no problem with him playing the role if it was approved/allowed. If there is an issue to raise, I would raise it with the person responsible for casting the role with some questions - why did they not approach dwarf actors for the role,? Why did they allow Hugh Grant to be casted?
How so? I can see how some may say it is inappropriate or unsuitable to cast someone without similar characteristics as the character, but ultimately it is a private production, as long as all parties are willing and consenting and there is an agreement, then there should be no real 'issue' here regarding the actors.@@run2cat4run
The actual issue is he has no appreciation or love for the role so he frankly doesn't deserve it more than someone that does regardless of their size. Dwarfs don't get anywhere near as many acting opportunities so for hugh to bitch about a role where he is essentially taking one of those opportunities is just ungrateful and arrogant.

Now I got answers for my questions about Piers “journalistic” practices from The Guardian: “[During the trial, the former Daily Mirror political editor David Seymour told the court that staff at the newspaper had heard Morgan openly discussing how phone hacking operated when at a dinner with executives. Seymour, who worked closely with the editor for a decade, alleged Morgan was “unreliable and boastful, and apt to tell untruths when it suited him”. In his judgment, the judge noted that Seymour said Morgan was “no fool” and “knew that his journalists were involved in phone hacking”. The judge added: “Mr Seymour struck me as a man of intelligence and integrity. I accept his evidence without hesitation.”]”
I forget how the quote went "if a production company hires a person that's disabled or this dwarf for lets say $10,000 and the return is $100,000 that's good, but if I hire a named able bodied actor for 100,000 and the return is 500,000. Why piers assume he doesn't need the money. When it's a fact that grant doesn't play in a lot of movies like he used to anymore. So it's probably right 🤭
He plays a 18” oompa lumpa so even Dylan would’ve been too tall for this role
There is nothing wrong with hiring [smug] Hugh Grant, a box office draw, as opposed to this gentleman guest, who is unknown.
Except he's not
Hornswoggle was big part of my childhood lol
@@tictactoehuhn6 Most people outside of the wrestling world have no idea what that little turd is.
I’m guessing you didn’t watch WWE from about 2007 - 2015. Dylan was always on the shows.
Definitely ain't a nobody.
I like Dylan. Even in the face of iniquity, he's always so rational and fair-minded.
As for Hugh Grant not enjoying starring in films, I have to agree - I'm not keen on him doing that either.
you completly took Hgh Grant words wrong he was joking je wasn't serious and Also said he hated Timothée chalamet enfront of Timothée chalamet
He’s box office, funny and speaks beautifully. The 7 dwarfs could have been dwarfs but Disney made a. different choice
Snowspanic and the 7 homeless people..
The erasure of dwarf actors is definitely a thing
By the way, piers will be in a lot of hot water with regards to the mobile phone tapping while he was in charge of the mirror. Pretty sure all of this is linked
If he did it only for the money, he should at least apologise that he ruined it for everybody else.
I kind of like Hugh Blunt, but he is a bit of an A-hole.
But does Dylan condemn Hammas?
Little people life's matter 😊❤
He’s only 18 inches tall in the movie. No one short enough to fill that role
I love how piers complains about cancel culture, then tries to cancel hugh grant for “taking a role for a little person” 😂
This is ridiculous. The guy needed money and a company offered him money. What's wrong with that
Hornswoggle 😅
This little person is trans
Did I just hear Postl call Piers "Tucker" at the end? I THINK I DID.
I must admit Hugh Grant does have a good oompa loompa face.
But weren’t they also complaining how they didn’t want to play those kinda roles anymore like the 7 dwarves, Oompa Loompas and elves?? Idk
I don't think so. They need the work, but are not asked.
Wokism.
No thats not the case. The man in this clip was on this same show saying that he thought dwarf-actors should have played the dwarf-parts in the latest Snowwhite-movie and not ”normal-size”-actors.
My dwarf bros, y’all would be a fine addition to any movie. Frankly, I need more dwarf.
The dwarves should get together and start funding their own films, where they re-make other movies but with all dwarves.
I'd watch a dwarf version of John Wick, a dwarf Rambo or Rocky would be awesome. Hell, re-make any movie with all dwarves and it would be entertaining.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hugh Grant is a sarcastic curmudgeon and you guys are taking his comments FAR too seriously haha
I am baffled by how many people don't understand his sarcasm :D
This is how a dwarf war begins.
Love to all from America 🇺🇸
It's all about technology now, not ability too often.
To me, this simply makes sense to offer roles to able body people (acting is physically demanding) to the actors who have those attributes.
We don't need to make this topic into some political woke vs antiwoke nonsense.
The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, The Huntsman etc all have regular actors playing dwarves & other little people.
They have a dwarf community? I need to see the towns they live in
I am glad Piers is now sticking to topics within his expertise.
first rule, never never regret to play a dwarf
Piers looks like a over grown dwarf 😂
Hugh Grant has the right to play his roll, why doesn't Piers ask if he condemns Oct 7
More specifically, “do you condemn Hamas?”
@@Sums75 He probably wouldnt cause hamas surely has oompa loompas in it
So Dylan is trying to do more roles whether it's dwarf roles or normal size roles. How does this that work ?
Indeed, I don't known how that's supposed to work, but I see it's OK for him to play the part of a "normal size" actor but not OK for a "normal size" actor to play the part of a dwarf!
Is this hypocrisy or am I mistaken?
@@frontenac5083Because you're describing a scenario that is not going to happen
"So it's okay for aliens to blow up the moon but not if I do it?! Hypocrisy?" That is what you sound like.
@TheHauntedKiwi how are you certain that it will never happen? Look at the reason we're in this debate, also your analogy is terrible.
@@christopherlee8713 Because that's stupid and only a stupid person would believe that.
@@TheHauntedKiwi Moral principles apply to situations that aren't going to happen, what are you talking about.
It's not OK for aliens or humans to blow up the moon.
That sound very woke
@@kye7062he dosnt have to love the role to take the job , most people don't love thier jobs tbh .. so what you are saying is discrimination, but let's be honest it's OK to discriminate against straight white males ehh
@@tomdoyle6030 "I'm looking for an actor who hates the role they're playing" said no casting director ever. This is the arts industry, you absolutely have to love your job and he absolutely had to pretend he was going to love it to get the role.
Now I got answers for my questions about Piers “journalistic” practices from The Guardian:
“[During the trial, the former Daily Mirror political editor David Seymour told the court that staff at the newspaper had heard Morgan openly discussing how phone hacking operated when at a dinner with executives.
Who would you go for?" It's all about money at the end of the day. I'm sure Peter Dinklage would've taken it if the pay or role was right.
Give me a break. Piers Morgan is on the wrong side of this one. Acting is acting. Anyone can play a midget. Give me a break.
Must be hard for grant getting paid millions for taking work away from dwarfs
Welcome to a brand new episode of "Piers Morgan: Exposed"
After showing his hate for religion now ,Pier Morgan the white Racist man hides behind Hugh Grant stuff😂but i must say Hugh Grant looks ridiculous in that role ,i would love Dylan instead
You can see his feet on his drivers license photo. That’s short
What's the problem, they wanted a good actor in the role!
'As a member of .... community, I feel .... because....'
Yawn!
No one cares
Pierce, really is a hypocrite. This show is good when its serious but half the time its just him bitching about people that dont like him.
Well, I tell you what, and maybe I am wrong. If not for Hugh Grant in the film Wonka I would not have any desire to see the film. I have no idea who the lead actor is, but the minute I heard / saw Hugh Grant, I knew immediately I would go see it.
5:19 Piers is one sly m’fer.
I just hope they find an 8 inch person to play Tinkerbell when a movie calls for it...
Can you have slim people playing fat people?
Finally a video that’s not about the war in Israel!!!
This guys pro wrestling name is "Hornswoggle"?? Hornswoggles were LITERALLY the creatures on the island that terrorized the Oompa Loompas that Gene Wilder's Wonka "rescued". Wow.
Piers Do you condemn Phone hacking?
Remember this is the free-speech guy who says there is hate speech. Just as long as he disagrees.
The only community who should have roles ''reserved'' for them is the dwarf community. Because of the obviously different PHYSICAL attributes. For any other communities it is ridiculous to think the roles should be reserved. It's called acting for a reason. WE DO WANT to see gay men play hetero men and vice versa. That's where the 7th art gets really interesting!
The CG looks horrendous and what sticks in my craw even more is Godzilla isn’t being shown in IMAX in my area because this movie is hogging the screen!
Shame on you Hugh Grant. Really did not expect that sort of attitude from you.
I thought Hugh was good. The dwarf from GOT is always hired - but heaps of dwarfs miss out on jobs to him. Also, Deep Roy on the Johnny Depp film played all of the dwarfs. No on complained about that. I really like Dylan Postl. He's humble and dte. He's a wonderful actor. The dwarf from GOT isn't that great.
I know its a different subject but what confuses me is why episodes of its always sunny in Philadelphia were taken off netflix for blackface but White Chicks is on there. Is that not whiteface.
But does Dylan condemn Hamas?
Well what if that dwarf actor had a chance to play a “regular” sized role, and the studio was willing to CGI him larger ?
He’s just a hypocrite.
In my opinion piers this interview was slightly shortsighted
I see what you did there with the wanka joke. Nice work!

Doing everything to earn a living is our social contract. Hugh Grant needs money, he is an actor who plays imaginary characters. A dwarf actor can play imaginary characters very well too. Imagination has no physical constraints. Morally, who should earn this money? If we want to get out of this, we have to change our social contract. No longer having to earn our living, but the duty to deserve it.
😂😂😂😂😂😂 Divine Brown is all I can think of 😂😂😂😂and he was moaning then 😂
Lol 😂. Me too.
Lets just add dwarves to the acronym and then they will get the same treatment from hollywood.
Hugh Grant is a self-described whiner. He pretty much whines about everything. But totally agree that the part should have gone to an actor of small stature.
Disney needs to stop this madness. Ok. They’re busy changing all the old awesome stories and films to fit in to the new woke narrative. How about Tarzan, Disney? A white boy lost at birth in an African jungle, learning how to swing from tree to tree, being strong and brave, total hero in my childhood. Are Disney going to bring that movie back and have a black man swing from tree to tree? No. I didn’t think so.
Snow White and the seven dwarfs are a legendary story. There were dwarfs. They were awesome. Hugh Grant is not a dwarf. And this version of the story says that dwarfism doesn’t exist. And that dwarfs can’t be awesome in that amazing fairytale. It’s tiring.
Give Dylan Postl the role of the next Willy Wonka and edit him into normal size.
