wow I love these duets u make with Tarja and Floor. These two women have incredible talent, and I hate when people pair them against each other. They should be pair WITH each other and not AGAINST. Both singers are unbelievable. Floor really floored me!!! Never thought she was this good. Both have such powerful and different styles. Tarja - operatic. Floor - chest voice.

I know this is a Tarja song but I think (and people, there IS no right and wrong about these sorts of things) that I like Floor's performance better. It just fits the song better, less operatic yet she soars when she needs to, just wonderfully.

The only thing I do not like is people saying that Floor can do operetic parts like Tarja when here is clear that she can not. She does not sing from beginig she just do the hand thing and she can do high notes but not even close to Tarja. So stop comparing them. 0:57 and 3:06 and 3:23.
An amazing duet. I love it.
They are two completely different singers. I prefer Tarja for the stuff that was written for her. Tarja holds certain notes in a unique way, she plays the pauses, she doesn't always start singing on the very first note and waits just enough for the dramatic/haunting effect that the song deserves. Her style is not something Floor should copy.......Floor is a very powerful singer and there are some things that Floor does which I am not fond of. Floor at times changes her style of singing almost too much and it's her way of hitting certain notes, it sometimes feels like multiple singers. Now for their current stuff I do agree that Floor is the best singer for what was written for her, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't like to see what Tarja could do with it. Both are great singers.
ouch you are so wrong. Are you classical trained? It is her way of hitting notes you said? Tarja ONLY uses head voice (operatic) and we (singers) know that it is easier to reach high notes with...HEAD voice. Floor reaches higher notes in chest voice. Her range from low to high is wider. I mean, you of course can have Tarja as favorite, but don't tell stuff that's BS. I can easily reach a high D5 in head voice , but NOT with chest voice. (I am a mezzo soprano) So it is the other way around. What Floor does...Tarja can't do. And that's fine. We are all different singers and we all have our favorite style. Yours is only operatic, I am a sucker for the switches that Floor is famous for and maybe a handful of other singers on the globe can.
I love a rawness in high pitches now and than...Tarja can't do that. Floor can reach high notes without using vibrato, just a little at the end. Tarja will always sing in vibrato. That s voice controle and preference.
And than you have the nerve to claim that Tarja has a better timing, Floor is always on the first note? Again so wrong. Tarja is awesome, but Floor has the same timing skills.
So please all enjoy your favorite singers....but don't bring along bs arguments :)

I really enjoyed this video with my favorite femle vocalist Floor Jansen. Maybe Tarja was highly educated musically, but if they would stand in the same stage, you would not see anything from Tarja, because Floor a natural born frontwoman she rules the stage. Since Floor has arrived the Nightwish is officially a metal band!

Too bad I can't give a thumbs up every time I come here to listen to this video. Sure the transitions could be a bit smoother but it's a damn good job nevertheless.
Also everyone is talking about the singers - of course they're amazing - but the fact that the audio can be superposed on a LIVE PERFORMANCE unnoticeably says a lot about the band as a whole too.
This is so good that I downloaded the audio and saved on my Nightwish folder. 😊

Este video me gusto, ambas cantaban casi en el mismo registro aunque con sus diferencias de formación en canto. La música es de distintas épocas y suena mas armada la versión de Floor Tarja como siempre le da ese toque mas lirico , pero la performance de Floor es perfecta, Gracias por el trabajo , muy bueno !!!!!

Nah, she forever will be the voice of After Forever ;) And ReVamp are really badass. I'd say more badass than NW in last few years.
+Iwan Suryaasri Floor created Revamp, their music is done by her and it shows the whole potential of her voice. Nightwish is good with Floor, but I prefer Revamp.
But both AF and ReVamp now are history, friends... Accept it, haha...

No hay empate, definitivamente esta canción se la lleva Tarja, es una canción muy oscura y esa particularidad viene de Tarja, la versión de Floor es muy buena, muy melódica y dulce pero no oscura. Ambas diosas pero este tema es 100% de Tarja.

No existe comparación entre ambas, nada que ver una voz con la otra. Tarja es una voz muy aguda, Floor es una Soprano pero con ese toque gutural grave, por lo tanto más cuerpo en la voz, siempre he renegado de algunos Tenores, esa voz estruendosa, pero la verdad no veo feeling luego me sorprende que comparen a estas dos. Quizás por el antecedente de Tarja, y la costumbre de haberla escuchado siempre, la verdad la voz de Floor no tiene comparación, dado que se ve que hizo un desarrollo muy personal, o sea adaptó su voz a este asunto del Metal, podríamos decir que "imitó la voz metalera de un hombre", con ese juego gutural. Es única. Por algo prevaleció pues en este grupo a fin de cuentas. Si Tarja desarrollara un estilo no parecido pero si dentro de ese aspecto mas metalero y con un timbre personal en su voz juren que la regresan de nuevo a la banda, Tarde o temprano.

Floor doesn't sing high parts. like a 0:57 -1:04 , 1:10 -1:14, 1:35 -1:40, 1:45 -1:50... and 3:22 - 3:32.. and she is running away from operetic parts, and long parts like 1:18 and 3:08. she is amazig singer. but she should not run away from opera, this is symphonic metal band, and we all know she can sing opera, so why doesn't she?!
Because, first, she doesn't want to imitate no one and so she gave a twist. Secondly, because Toumas asked to not use the operatic voice too much.
Both have their merit the way they sing, tarja voice for me is pleasant, ok the music was built for her voice, but for me, sometimes the fact that is too operatic drains the emotion of some of the songs. For me with floor, she has a colourful voice that adds new textures and gives a new emotion or even extract even more the emotion of the song. Not of all, but a pretty good amount of them.

Particularly in this song floor sounds very ordinary, so I don't like the duet because Tarja voice sounds to much training in this song.

Tarja - "Dark cheest of wonders" one reason I hated Tarja was because of her pronunciation.... Her accent is awful when performing live. Floor > Tarja anyday...
Try singing live in a different language. English is very different in terms of sounds from her native Finnish. Tarja is magnificent!
