The live performances of each singer were mixed in order to convey an unique experience.

One has to be brave to make the comparison between three amazing singers
They all bring their strong points to many of the songs
But ………my humble and very personal opinion
The Nightwish/ Floor Jansen combination has opened up this band to stratospheric levels.
I accidentally came upon a reaction video clip on RUclips, exactly two months ago and at about midnight in my bed.
The song was Storytime and I was blown totally away
I have not stopped listening ever since. The emotional effect of Nightwish’s music and Floor’s voice is just out of this world
I agree 💯.... FLOOR can do Everything so powerfully & beautifully. She's a multi-faceted, Complete singer who Excels and raises the bar on these songs!
Growing up before Nightwish was so popular Tarja was Nightwish, then Anette came and did awesome... then Floor stepped in and did perfect. all I can say is all 3 vocalists did their part and did awesome.
I miss Anette. She was there when I first listened to Nightwish. Dark Passion Play got my into nightwish.
Man this only made me want to see these three together on stage for once

I don't know why, but there is something oddly wholesome about hearing their voices mixed together like this. It's almost as if you're watching them all sing together, but I know that will unfortunately never happen.

It would have to be outside of Nightwish, but Floor and Tarja have sung together so all three would be possible. They obviously hold no ill-will with each other.
Yes, it's unlikely, and I've wished for similar in other bands where the lead singer has gone in other directions under less than ideal conditions, but I don't see it as impossible.
This mashup shows that they all have superb timing and complementary ranges.
I think it sounds so good because Floors voice helps blend the operatic and pop vocals. She works as a balance to make the mix fit.

This was really cool. I wish they'd all sing together for real just once. Tarja's is definitely the most operatic, but I think Floor's is fuller/has a larger range while Anette's is the most audibly projected. All three at once is like a whole new picture and really amazing because they cover like everything at once
I keep coming back to this video. I swear, Tarja slays the beginning of the bridge, and Floor brings the tail home into the chorus. Anette provides a nice harmony with some flourishes. It's just nice.

And this is it - Floor doesn't sing in any lyrics if she wants to, besides not singing the woman still uses the base that Tarja recorded for this part years ago, what do you mean? If she's that good, she should at least sing the song, right, not just raise her hand and let the base play loose, since she defines herself as a LYRICAL metal vocalist, doing lyrical for her should be the basics, right? But not Anette, who is 100% popular singing bellter, she still sings, but that Floor person stands there letting the base roll, and even so her fandon creates this illusion of superiority in her. Please, right, and when it comes to the chorus, she still puts on some lazy falsettos because the music is too loud for her, not to mention that Tarja sings everything in the lyrics, even high, with beautiful vibratos with volume and I need it, Floor when she needs to have volume in the voice, calls for a scream.

Only just stumbled over Nightwish because of RUclips a couple of days ago... quite blown away by the band's brilliance, in part, due to the diversity of the front-women's performances. All are sooo.. different and until I've had a chance to listen to all the videos (and there are a lot) I'll doubt if I'll be able to choose a favorite. At the moment, just happy that I've finally discovered them!
Hearing all of them sing together gives me a heavenly level of goosebumps. I can literally drop my glass of beer and i wont be mad

i love all 3 of the singers equally. All of them are equally talented with different musical styles that bring a new perspective for each song. Moshcam filmed an amazing concert with Anette that has brought me to tears numerous times, same with EoaE and Showtime Storytime. But regardless, all 3 (technically 4) singers make up nightwish, not one or the other. All of them have helped create the magic and beauty that is this wonderful band. :)

They are all great singers, but I don't think Anette has the energy Floor and Tarja have, nor their vocal styles or their commanding stage presences. They are all different singers, but not every singer can sing for any band. Some belong to certain bands for a reason. Nightwish has three other intense vocalists that work or have worked into what the band does. Anette was just in the wrong band for her talents.

I've only discovered Nightwish about three weeks ago and I think their brilliant,not normally the type of music I listen to, i've been stuck in the 80s for far too long I need to expand my horizons.Im off to Manchester on the 11th of December to see them it should be a great night.

I have only discovered Nightwish recently,(I had heard of them) but couldn’t get into them for some reason.I heard Story time on the radio and turned it up once I heard the vocals which I thought were fucking amazing.I think all of the singers who have sang with Nightwish are very good in their own way and also very different but with the old medium that is radio you tend to judge with your ears and not your eyes.The singer I heard on the Radio was Floor,and she knocked me cold with a vocal range that was truly unearthly . Nightwish have and continue to be a great and very successful band but in my humble opinion I think if they had started out with Floor they would have been massive on a global scale.Its very rare for a band to change lead singers once never mind a number of times and remain popular and I think their decision to bring Floor on board was a master stroke that has paved the way for Nightwish for many years to come.
Only found their music recently too. Floor brought me too it. Love hearing every version
I first heard them in 2014 when I watched a Transformers amv with "End of all hope" playing over it.
Up until the start of Covid I only occasionally dabbled but they've became one of my favourite bands in the past 2 and a bit years.

@@joeluspalacius6940 I knew that Tarja was the first singer, but that does not change my opinion. Nightwish is a symphonic metal band that precisely fits Floor. Even her clothing is much more attuned to the genre the band stands for. If you love Tarjas voice so much, I would advise you to listen to operas a little more. Tarja gave idd a special touch to the symphonic metal phenomenon. But personally, I prefer Floor's application of an opera voice by Floor. It can recall so many different types of voice per number. And that gives much more values to Tomas' composed music. Floor also surpasses the other two in terms of performance. But in the end it all comes down to taste.

As a symphonic heavy metal band tarja fits better in my opinion, and this is coming from a guy who has been playing music for the past 20 years. Las tres son increíbles cantantes.
Tarja: Una voz muy "dramática", perfecta con el estilo sinfónico de la banda, simplemente sin ella la cosas no hubiesen sido igual.
Anette: Todos dicen que no canta, pero vamos, cualquiera quisiera cantar la mitad de bien como lo hace ella, simplemente su voz es muy delicada (y estilo casi pop) en comparación con el estilo de Nightwish.
Floor: Increíble, voz potente y dominio del escenario, para mí encaja muy bien con su propio estilo, no tratando de ser el remplazo de nadie, es mi favorita.

Tarja Turunen es espectacular increíble en su estilo ella es una soprano lírico, dramático proyecta mucha profundidad y Annette demostró ser muy " pequeña" para el vivo , ella está fuera de discusión. Lo que impresiona de Floor es su facilidad de cambiar de registro puede pasar del pop, metal, gutural, metal sinfónico hasta opera con mucha facilidad,te puede llevar por un sin fin de emociones ( tranquilidad, frustración,ira, felicidad, etc) como la vida misma. Tarja puso la valla muy alta por eso la decepción con Annette. Es decir; con Tarja y más con Annette Nightwish tenía recursos limitados, con Floor tienen un universo de posibilidades.

Like all 3 for different reasons:
Tarja - strongest voice (Phantom of the Opera cover is a prime example)
Anette - best albums (Dark Passion Play is number 1 for me)
Floor - best stage presence and my personal favourite.
Not sure about Tarja having the strongest voice - she may be the most operatic but I don't think she has the most outright power and control that Floor has.
This song simply may not be the best example to showcase the best of their vocals - also the layered mixing doesn't sound great to my ears. Might be better to crossfade between them, or isolate them and not have triple music tracks.

This has literally got to be one of the only bands in the world nice enough to do this sort of thing. How many others do this it makes them even more unique.
One story i know well and am tired of is that a band has a couple great singers who just never ever manage to get along and this sort of thing is just never possible. These girls all manage to be friends now.

Floor fits with Nightwish perfectly. She can sing anything Tuomas throws her way. Such a talented band.
