empties the whole bowl.
classic chef!
I've watched chefs on this platform for years, and nobody makes cooking as easy, fun, and delicious as you, Chef Jean Pierre! My cooking has improved tenfold thanks to you, thank you, chef! 🙏👨🍳
Have you watched Pepin?
He's very good at making things good.
They both are.
@@Nhawk316 Pepin is good. But he’s not Chef JP so stop comparing them.
@@Nhawk316 Pepin is fantastic as a chef, but if i am honest i can't get past the fact he sounds like his mouth is drooling.
If you can find a woman in life that talks about you like Chef Jean-Pierre talks about butter you've got yourself a keeper!
All jokes aside I LOVE your vids Chef! Really brightens my day!
🤣🤣🤣
I've only seen a love like that once in my life.
It was with Chef Jean-Pierre and butter.
To Chef, budder is a synonym for love.
I love when he refers to the ever present bowl of butter pats as his "emotional support butter."
He puts butter on his butter
When he says "friends" I genuinely feel I have a friend who has my back in the kitchen no matter what! The sheer amount of love from this channel is mind-boggling.
I like Jean-Pierre exactly because he is similar to the kind man and excellent chef I learned from. Patient, knowledgeable and fun. This is what people should be watching and not the angry sect that seems so popular.
Chef's family 🤗
I like to fancy myself as a solid cook who is capable of making almost anything. However, my inability to make the dreaded omelette has haunted me since my 20s. I've tried so many techniques over the years; all with varying degrees of failure. I'd get versions that were "close", but never anything worth mentioning or sharing with others.
I made this version Sunday, and it came out perfect! It was fluffy, creamy, and looked awesome! Everyone LOVED it. I did a light saute on my onion, then added the green peppers, then warmed the ham before adding to the omelette. I also had the cheese at room temperature to help it melt faster without overcooking the egg.
I feel I have finally defeated my old kitchen nemesis! Thank you for sharing this recipe Chef!
I make this 4-5x every week! But I talk to myself with Chef JP accent and saying 'friends' constantly. Wife always walks in after a deep sleep saying, "Who you talkin' to? Are you talking to yourself again?" Love my Chef JP!!!
I love the cameraman’s sense of humor. Awesome👍
“It’s never too late to do good.” I love that!!
Chef J P is a Master Chef. Adding butter cubes to the egg! The thorough mixing of the melting butter with the slowly cooking egg! The perfect texture at the end! Such a humble dish. But a work of art from Chef J P!
The combination of Chef Jean-Pierre and whomever is editing his videos are so endearing. "And here on this TANGENT..." 🤣
Careless Whisper, followed by the NO SERVICE signal was awesome!
He does a few things like that on other videos as well - just awesome. Informative, easy, delicious and fun !!!!
I logged in to say the same thing. You beat me to it! Haha
@@lodrezzon OMG, I was dying ! Literally had tears coming out ... Chef, you and your video editors do an ahh-mah-zhing job !! Love you
Never have I ever seen an omelette made this way. Now I know why I gave up trying to make it!!! I was taught wrong! This looks easier than what I was shown! Didn't know about butter and bubbly water in the omelette either!!!
Thank you again Chef, this time for clearing the muddy waters of all I was taught! I truly appreciate you and your skills as a teacher! 🤗
I'm 61 and love to cook. I just switched off my MTB video when seeing your vid pop up. Your vids bring a smile to both my wife and I's faces, and we LOVE omelettes! Happy St Patrick's day. It's green pancakes for us this morning.
Hilarious, same here.
That's the way. In pan, stir-stir-stir. Bang pan or manually flatten egg layer. Fill. Wait-wait-wait. SLOW roll. Plate, shape, butter (lustré) garnish. Merci, Chef.
Slow cooking is heaven on earth
More Butter, never enough… I love this channel. In fact the only cooking show I like.
51 years . . . man I've been missing out for a long time. Excellent presentation. It's 11pm and I really want to cook an omelet now. LOL
Since discovering this channel I now make great meals during the week and hijack butter trucks during the weekend.
Wait there are butter trucks?
Your editor is awesome. Totally matches your personality
The perfect team...with our emotional support bowl of butter!
@@theoldbigmoose yessss!!!!!!
Ps I'm so glad he saved that article about butter.
Just wanted to say that intro is amazing
That goofy smile when he gets to rub a little extra butter on the thing!
I love reading the comments. So many people (thousands!) like me, are better at cooking because of you Chef! "America eats better thanks to Chef Pierre!" (new slogan) "brought to you by the American Butter Council!" TY for yet another recipe for this weekend!
Late to this video, but what I real laugh I got. "American Butter Council."
I knew about the butter in the omelette and the constant stirring at the start, but I did not know about the sparkling water! Thanks Chef and crew, yet another marvellous, informative, funny and entertaining video.
Sparkling water is a secret ingredient for crepes, too! ;-)
Agree with Michael! But, c'mon, the chef does not mention the need for garlic in this recipe! IMO, eggs, plus salt, plus butter, plus garlic makes for the yummy experience, no matter whether the recipe be for an omelette, or a simple scramble. I also like to add a pinch of red pepper flakes and several tablespoonfuls of fresh chopped green onions (the white parts, saving the green parts for garnish). This recipe is not nearly as good as it could be, Chef!
@@michaelsalmon6436 This video is just a template. He used ham and cheese since it is a very common and basic choice.
😂 Lmao at the butter "romantic" scene. Great videos!
Easiest omelette I’ve ever seen. Best cooking show online. Thank you
I am now the omelette king
OMG the song made me laugh out loud!!!! love chef jean-pierre and absolutely love whomever edits the videos!!!!
I've been cooking my entire adult life (i.e. for close to 50 years), and owned my own restaurant (okay, so it was a pizza joint) for three years. Each episode of this channel that I watch, I learn something new, and my cooking is improved. Thank you, Chef.
Out of all the omelettes I make in a year, I am usually lucky if one comes out right. This is a perfect video to help me hone the technique and not let my nerves bring me down.
Chef you’re my favorite, i’m your silent fan. I recently uploaded another mouth watering version of OMELETTE with my homemade canned beef. You’re great Chef. Wow!
It amazes me that you are willing to share your professional knowledge with us.
You elevate the simplest of a dish to its highest level! 😋
Thanks chef!!
Cheese and butter with a side of egg, French cuisine is magical.
much love Chef Jean-Pierre and to everyone here!
I watch so many Jean Pierre videos that I’m pretty sure my friends think I’m actually in culinary school. 😂
Ahhhhhhhhhhh I think we are!
@@theoldbigmoose (:
You’re a culinary genius! I know omelets are simple and I’ve made them for many years, but you can always learn something new and I’m never disappointed with your recipes.
I liked very much when you smile , call me Friend , and when you enjoy your own cooking, and enjoy sharing your tips with all of us
When I was a kid, during the school break in summer I would watch Julia Child, The Galloping Gourmet w/Graham Kerr, years later discovered Jacques Pépin and now I watch you! 🙂
This omelette is a work of art! Never seen one made like that - and with such excellent results. Yum yum!
This is called french omelette it is so hard to do but after a few tries I think I got it. Rule number 1 it can’t be brown it has to remain pale. Rule 2 it has a different texture inside and the rolling is the hardest. This is one of the culinary test u do.
😊
I love a good "Farmers Omelette". It's basically one meat, and all the available veggies. Mushrooms are absolutely a must for me.
My favorite teacher! I think you just caused me to go make an omelette.
😊
As always, God Bless Chef Jean Pierre, and
God Bless America!
💪😎🇺🇲
👍👍👍😊
That sounds a little like a Denver, or western omelette, which is freakin fabulous!!! 😛😋🥲
Available veggies for me will be cabbage, carrots and potatoes. :-)
@@daphnepearce9411 Cabbage waffles made with a potato dough are fantastic.
@@daphnepearce9411 Mmmmmm. Those sound pretty yummy too, Daphne.
Jean Pierre he’s the best Chef 👩🍳☝️
I love it. I usually covered up for 2 minutes instead the 4 with no cover.
Chef JP, I watch you to make me feel better and happier. I have been sick for days and you are an entertaining lift. Thank you. 🤗 The budder love killed it!😂🤣
Chef, I threw out my deodorant today and am just going to be using a stick of butter in honor of you!!! Next to go is the toothpaste!
Beautiful! I'm going to try this technique for an omelette tomorrow.
Yes..not dry at all... Perfect 🇿🇦👌
Any omelette is good. I like capers, Port Salut cheese, and soppresatta in mine. Another great dish from the Master.
Capers great idea. Children I eat my omelette with fries potatoes and French pickles (cornichons)
@@khaelamensha3624 That's the wonderful thing about omelettes - you can put whatever you want in them. Just no tomatoes! 🤨😒🤢🤮😱👎
Add the eggshells for extra crunch
Finally! Mamma mia! Thank you @JeanPierre! You put butter in the pan and in the eggs - I do that for years, everyone rolls his eyes at me, but I love it. God bless you!
Everything you cook is so appetising...
"enough for two or three people".🤭 I was thinking, I could eat two of those. Yummy.
2-3 people ? ... that's barely enough for me 😂😂
Chef......love your channel. Not only do I learn much, I find you to be a very charming and entertaining chap.
hi jean! im a college student studying hard thank you for helping me and my dad cook meals !! onion!
When I was breakfast cook at a restaurant 100 years ago I always put a bit of the omelet filling on top to help the waitress identify the filling. 3-4 omelets going to the same table and they all looked alike could cause an easy mix-up. With a little parsley also on top they looked "pretty.'
That's a great tip, especially if one of your omelettes is for a vegetarian - God forbid they take a bite and find ham!
Genius move 👌👌
Chef, Thank you for sharing another fantastic recipe
The butter shenanigans are hilarious!!
Great recipe!
Not log discovered this channel. Chef you have renewed my love for cooking. Love the enthusiasm and the fun whilst learning. Cheers
Agreed, his passion and enthusiasm is making me look for a new new knife roll🥂
EVERYONE makes mistakes in the kitchen, even TV chefs! And just as almost EVERY chef channel will edit those mistakes out, or cut the video, YOU Jean-Pierre lets them in and keeps going! This gives me as the viewer so much more confidence, and to try and save it even if I make mistakes! You have teached me so much :D
I learn something everytime I watch your videos.
I love the french kitchen and over all swiss cheese! You are the best Chef Jean Pierre!❤!
I just made an omelette for me and my wife! I love omelettes in the morning. Used corn and peas (sauteed in butter) and dried tomatoes, I thought it might not work but it did.
Just when you think you've got omlets down, here comes Chef to show you new tricks you never tried. Cold butter and soda water?! Definitly trying this recipe. Thanks Chef for showing us how to make ordinary meals extrordiary!
Don't do it, water is the enemy.
@@nocapitals9833 Only if you add too much water! I find a little splash of plain tap water improves an omelette because it makes the eggs lighter.
@@glamdolly30 👍👍👍
@@nocapitals9833 Hope it works for you too hon! X
@@glamdolly30 ❤😁
Chef Jean Pierre never failed me yet! Thanks!
Quick and practical, it looks tasty, I'm going to make it!
I never could do a proper omelette ... I will be making this Saturday morning! Thank you 👍
Very nice! I made it with prosciutto and onions and used milk instead of soda water (didn’t have any). It came out delicioso 👍🏻
Your are the best cook l love you and your cook
These videos are getting better and better
He's so brilliant....💋💕
Chef, you did it again! Another mouth watering recipe. Would have never thought about the club soda trick.
Butter and eggs are a great combo.
Your enthusiasm made me jump up and try this myself. Wish I could post the picture of my result..it came out perfectly and the technique for rolling-out the omelet was key to perfect plating. I skipped breakfast and lunch..so I wish I could say this was for 2-3 people...but alas it was only for me. Gone in a gobble. Loved it.
As I was adding extra butter to my eggs this morning before scrambling them for my husband, I thought about suggesting that you show us an omelet. And Viola!
So it was you to thank then. Thanks for putting a bug in Chef's ear.
i've always had a difficult time "Rolling" the omelette so I resorted to Fritatta style or major scramble. I am confident I can master your way of rolling the egg into the omlette. Thank you very much chef.
Be Well
@Schodinger's Snufalufagus Thank you. I do like frittatas but it does add extra step of the oven.
I love how Chef gets all gooey when talking about butter.
You make me happy and lift my spirits with your humor and enthusiasm!
Long live Chef Jean-Pierre! Modern yet old school Chef at its best 👌
Your videos get ‘butter & butter!’ I love this channel! Thanks Chef!
Another new technique learned - 4x the butter! Nice job Chef!
Oh yes!!! ,Butter!!!
Hi Chef. You want to know the epidemy of good food? You made a video on 24Feb22 (How to Make an Amazing Pot Roast). Last night I made it for my wife and I, (OMFG!) by the way! So, I get home from work, heat up a bowl, sit down and watched this video. I was drooling out of the left side with my Pot Roast; and out of the right side with the Omelet. Thank God for napkins. Well done, Chef. You always have something new to teach with even the most basic dishes. Thank you, sir.
These are stressful times for us all, but your cooking videos brighten our days and provide us with so much culinary joy. Thank you!
My pleasure 😊💗
Beautiful. I'm hungry now.
I like how chef leaves it alone
I love to see all the different ways that people do eggs. When I was learning to cook, this was the first thing I was taught to make. I learned how to "French" eggs to make so many different things.
May I make a suggestion for the channel. Maybe teach a cooking term in the video, you told us about the term for prepping to cook. Are there other terms that we could learn to make us feel more like a Chef?
I love making a good omelette! Thank you for sharing, I always love the extra little tricks you teach!!
You are the best… another home run 🏃♀️
A#1 cooking Daddy doing his thing. I find myself looking forward to his next video. Combines fun and knowledge equally and never dry or boring.
I still love me some Chef John, but I guess Chef Jean knocked the king off his throne.
I've learned quite a bit of tasty recipes from Chef John but not even close to the tips, tricks and education that Chef JP has given us.
He didn’t create an omelette, he created a master piece. What an artist!
Oh, Chef, I had spent 100 eggs on cooking the perfect omelet so far. Great recipe. I found that without adding cold milk it’s hard to cook an ideal omelet. Also, I’d like to add chicken bouillon instead of salt. I think it tastes better.
Well just egg and butter for me. A lot of butter and not too cooked but well this is cooking, everyone is entitled to make the dish to his or her own taste 😉😇😁
I also always add cold milk but I just made this with ham and mushroom and the egg was very light which I assume was the bubbles. Very tasty and I will be making again
Oh Chef…you always make me hungry!!
I’ve become a much better cook since falling in love withChef Jean Pierre!
I can't say enough about how much my husband and I enjoy your videos! We learn, we get ideas, and we laugh. How good is that?!
Tried your recipe this morning. Came out excellent tasting; however, mine didn't look anywhere as good as yours. A little more challenging than I initially thought it would be but was fun trying. Thanks again. I'm always motivated to learn from you. A warm French croissant went very well with this dish.
Check your heat! Lower temperature at the start. When the butter in the pan starts foaming, add the eggs.
He makes it look so easy
That’s a great recipe. Tried it and liked it.
I've been cooking chopped mushroom and thyme in a pan of olive oil and butter together - then adding my egg. Wow amazing!
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

That's a work of art!
It IS beautiful!!! I have never cared for omelettes due to the fact of how they are commonly cooked which ends up being overcooked on the downside...this method makes for a GREAT omelette style and I will definitely try this.....genius method to slightly scramble first...never even crossed my mind!
