    Paso Robles still feels like a farm community at heart. If it can be sourced local, it is. Everyone knows each other at the local bar. And the locals are proud of the region, even if it doesn't get the recognition it absolutely should: Paso makes some incredibly undervalued grape juice. Go local on this episode of V is for Vino.

    We are huge fans of Paso.. belong to numerous wine clubs there. Although the wines at Tablas are not our go to, they are done incredibly well. We just tasted there a couple weeks ago, and grabbed a couple bottles. Super impressed with the farming there and their commitment to the earth and climate change. Cheers!

      I don't care what locals think is correct or not correct. I pronounce it Roblays.. Its such a romantic language and sounds fitting for a beautiful wine region full of the beautiful oaks! I've been going there for many years, and have never been corrected or yelled at by a local.

    I just saw an ad boasting Passo Robles as a possible tourist spot. The lyrics to the music in the commercial said "Where were you in 1978, oh yeah"(in the style of Big Star)" prominently throughout the entire ad. I lived in a neighboring town close to Passo Robles in 1978. I was 4 years old at the time. I want to know if some entity is advertising directly to me(Google most likely), or is it a whacky coincidence that they made a commercial advertising the place and time I lived during that exact
    year. A coincidence seems unlikely. I'm thinking that everyone who got that ad was advertised a different year that was likely nostalgic to their childhood. I just bought a specific pair of glasses. And now I keep seeing ads for that exact pair of glasses that I just from America's Best on RUclips. These conglomerates know entirely too much.

    • @breakfast-burrito
      @breakfast-burrito 2 года назад

      Its targeted advertisement based off your browsing history and assumed likes/dislikes/and geographic region, among other things. Its not a coincidence as much as your footprint on the internet matched up with the footprint the advertising firm was looking for.

    Great video. Wish you would mention more wineries though. I prefer Paso wines over Napa in the under 200$ range. These wines drink equal to wines twice their Napa price point.

      Hoanglong Le I 100% agree! It’s my battle I fight all the time: getting people to be open to trying a Paso Cab over a Napa Cab: price to dollar ratio, it’s not even close. I wish I had time to visit more places too, maybe one day I can do another episode there!

    My family is native to SLO county. Matter of fact, my grandma's photo is in the SLO History Museum's collection as a "Chumash" woman (Indigenous tribe, native to the central coast of California). I grew up in Templeton, the next town over from Paso. I can tell you, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that it is pronounced by the locals as 'Pass-Oh Row-Bulls'. Anyone pronouncing it differently isn't local. @visforvino
