While EVERYONE (women vocalists) have been forced into a mold created for them by their record labels, Chaka Khan is too powerful to keep in a 'box'. For years I had wished Chaka Khan would sing Shirley Bassey's "Diamonds Are Forever" and "Goldfinger" and when I looked at the songs on her ClassiKhan CD my wishes had been answered. At Joni Mitchell's 75th Birthday Celebration Chaka Khan sang "Help Me". At Aretha Franklin's funeral she performed "I'm Goin' Up Yonder" and had the ENTIRE church get to their feet.

With regard to Chaka saying if she had it her way she would use the colors green and blue for lighting and the color pink for the spotlight in a low setting with just the minimal of instruments. Chaka I think you should go ahead and make that happen in a intimate setting and call the event "Simply Chaka". I believe this would make a wonderful show and give your admirers the chance to see you in a real setting that makes you happy. I pray your team can put together your ideas and make it happen as it will sell out many shows. Keep doing your thing Chaka and making that "positive" impact in peoples lives on a daily basis. Chaka Khan, to me, is the greatest singer that ever drew breath. When she’s introduced as the “10 time Grammy winner” I say to my self, “She should have been honored with more than that” but she came up when Grammy’s were not handed out for next to nothing work. They don’t mean anything to me now.
Whats crazy is Best of your heart is fire and she sang the mess out that song and shes like i wasn't crazy about it. She just did it cuz she was out voted to selecting the song.
