The fact is that she doesn't know enough about trans people or their worries and struggles to have an opinion on the issue!

Macy Gray was asked a question and based on HER life experience and HER frame of reference, answered the question and I RESPECT HER for that. Agree to disagree and have a difference of opinion but don’t FORCE your beliefs or cancel someone for not seeing the world through your lense; that’s control.
All the LGBT want is control. I swear they are the most emotionally fragile sector of society. In comparison to other movements for civil equality in America, theirs was the equivalent of a schoolyard shoving match. So they have the energy to go around brow-beating and threatening people when something is said that they don’t like.

What she said was true. She said that…..how can you be a woman if you were never a little girl. That’s what she said and it was true. She said that that’s a whole chapter of womanhood that would be missing.
And furthermore….isn’t that like a white person (for example) feeling like they were black their whole life. Then in their 20s they took pills and had surgery that was able to make them look like they had two black parents. Now are they black?? No!!! How can you be black if you never experienced being raised black in this society….being the only black person in your class, being called the N word when you accidentally cut someone off in traffic, or dealing with micro-aggressions way too often. How can you skip all of the coming of age stuff that shapes just about every black person one way or the other? You can’t. That’s because being black or being a woman is not merely looking like one.
i think lots of people agree with her but afraid to speak their honest truth including the host. so rather say what people want to hear and keep your job and no bully from the media.

People not accepting Macy for what she said and meant are hypocrites to expect her to "accept" them. We all have different belief systems and we will not all accept each other's. This FALSE sense of acceptance and tolerance for everything and everyone in society is creating a bunch of robots. So, my chiropractor and I had a convo a few years back, regarding my back. And that I needed to check my posture and strengthen my back muscles because a slight hump was beginning to form. I said something briefly about rounding my shoulders forward most of my life in reaction to early girlhood trauma of sexual bullying my boys and then living in NYC in the 60s, 70s and 80s being groped on subways and catcalled based on my body parts. And he said, "yes, I can understand that." And I said, "No disrespect doctor, but can you?" I was suggesting that he had not lived in, grown up in a female body in a misogynistic society. The doctor had two sons. So, neither had he raised DAUGHTERS through that, which EVERY MAN who has raised daughters FEELS in his body. His response: "But I have a wife." Your wife is a GROWN woman. You didn't experience your wife's emergent womanhood being socialized and acculturated in a patriarchal society. That's my metaphorical take on Macy's comment. She spoke to that here when she mentioned her twenty-year old daughters still emerging into womanhood culturally and through socialization. I do love that she stands by her opinions.

People are not allowed to have their opinions anymore. If their opinion does not conform with the “norm”, they get cancelled. I feel like she was asked her opinion on a matter, she stated her opinion on the matter. Her opinion may hurt other ppl’s feelings. Nonetheless, it’s her opinion.
