Whats crazy is Best of your heart is fire and she sang the mess out that song and shes like i wasn't crazy about it. She just did it cuz she was out voted to selecting the song. What a great musician. So gifted. Ill do it but dont want too. Tina turner said same thing about whats love got to do with it. Incredible people living legions. Im so glad im here to experience this.

I remember that painting Ms. Yvette Marie Stephens. You gave it to Wendy Williams 🤗. I love how Chaka owns her past, but didn't allow it to stifle her growth.

In CHAKA'S biography she said that Ike flew her out to Los Angeles to hire her as an Ikett and she threw a tantrum and behaved like a child!!!😊❤

One of Chaka’s very favorite movies is Black Orpheus. We have watched that together a few times over the decades. The love, the innocence, the Bossa Nova music, the dancing on the hillsides, the free spirits, a simple unpretentious life at one with Mother Nature plants & animals co-habitating ….just beautiful

What an amazing interview ❤

I'm so relieved to hear her say she listens to Hiatus Kaiyote. I felt alone in my appreciation for music from another country. The UK in particular. I listened to "Red Room" and "Get Sun" and their lead vocalist Nai Palm (napalm?) reminds me of Corinne Bailey Rae or even Hil St. Soul's Hilary Mwelwa. I like Gregory Peck in "The Big Country", and Bette Davis is 'hard'. Davis' Mildred Rogers role in "Of Human Bondage" is riveting and unforgettable. Chaka Khan explains the technical aspect of the music she made with Arif Mardin so interesting. Dr.Khan, Dr. Khan. She made me laugh when she said "I'm not a doctor 'cause I have no patients!". She is a 'Force of Nature", and truly unique. Chaka Khan is at the opposite spectrum from Donna Summer. I love Donna Summer 'The Queen of Disco' because of her image. And Donna Summer was flawless.

During the 1990's she amazed me with "Everything Must Change" arranged by Quincy Jones featuring Simply Red's Mick Hucknall. Chaka sang that in the French language. I remember the 2000's. She released her ClassiKhan (2004) CD that had some 'Heavyweight' songs. Two of my favorites are: "Diamonds Are Forever" "Goldfinger" Because I love Shirley Bassey's powerful vocal range. I must mention her performance of "I'm Goin' Up Yonder" at Aretha Franklin's funeral. I particularly became exhilarated when Chaka Khan caused the ENTIRE church to rise to their feet! She performed "Help Me" at Joni Mitchell's 75th Birthday Celebration (2019). I've always liked "Help Me" but with Chaka Khan's vocals that song became awesome.
