- Thyroid cancer is the most common form of cancer in the endocrine system, which includes the lands that produce hormones in your body. Cancer occurs when lumps, or nodules, grow in the thyroid land. These nodules are not usually cancerous, but if they are, they can be treated effectively. Rarely, they can be life threatening. I was diagnosed at 17, got half my thyroid removed. However, two years later, it spread to my lymph nodes and I had to get another surgery and radiation treatment. Now (almost 20 years old), it spread to my lung, so there is a chance I might need either another surgery or more radiation. I’m waiting on results now. Wish me luck!
Update: so the radiation killed off what was left in my lung, however, there was a small tumor that was resistant to the radiation. I had surgery a week ago to remove the tumor, and now I’m in remission! Nothing could of prepared me for the emotional/physical/psychological outcomes from getting cancer while in college. Hi ۔۔I was 29 years old when I got thyroid cancer ♋.
It has been seven years since this happened to me. Lobectomy, and after 2 weeks thyroidectomy.. radio active Iodine.. I had pappilory carcinoma..
And now by the grace of God I am well enough alhamdulillah.

Nevermind, It was mono🤣, just go to urgent care and ask to be tested for strep and mono if your lymph nodes get swollen. if negative go get tested for cancer

My sister had this. It was only stage 2.
It kept on moving to different lymph nodes so they had to remove them. But finally it stopped spreading and after 3 months it was gone :D
And she’s been cancer free for 2 years

@@sindooramandhula4141 my mom had this and it was discovered at stage 2 . Doctors took out the cancer lump on her thyroid and gave her radioactive iodine. But after 2 years she got it back so they removed her full thyroid gland and now shes okay 🥺and she was 38-39 when this happened

@@adventurevidswithbellaphoenix go with another doctor, you deserve an explanation, maybe they are dismissing your symptoms because of your age. I'm 23 and have the same symptoms and the doctor sends me lots of exams to make sure is not cancer.
my brother-in-law has a thyroid cancer stage 3 now. it is papillary. we are currently in an ICU but we need to transfer again to another hospital for the 3rd time because we need to find a cardio thoracic surgeon because his case is much more worse than just the neck alone. it went down to his collar bone already. he's been intubated and dependent with the ventilator for 2 weeks now. hoping to be transferred asap. 🙏🏼☝🏻

@@dimitrakalogirou4656 He is 29 years old and now has a tracheostomy. Surgery was successful but the doctors were not able to remove everything as it is very risky behind the neck part. Leaving some cancer-affected areas. He’s advised to get radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and radioactive iodine.

This makes me feel better although I’m 53, and have all the symptoms. I made an appointment but the thyroid specialist can’t see me for a while month! That makes me nervous!

I have been having thyroid ultrasounds on my multinodular goiter since then and this year they saw a strange looking nodule. I had to have an FNA again and I am awaiting results. Nervous. I have been having trouble swallowing. 😓 how did your journey go?
@@jewelryuluv2853 I really had to fight for a biopsy even if my grandpa died from thyroid cancer, but luckily it was benign. I haven't been able to to have ultrasounds regularly but I'm going to be scheduling one soon I've had pain in the area and different thyroid symptoms but my thyroid panel has came back normal. I wish the Dr's and paying for everything was easier. I hope to hear everything goes well for you.

I have papillary carcinoma stage 1
I started to feel sick in July 2020 I felt something stuck in my throat, many drs visits later I was told I had acid reflux so I was given meds to take care of acid reflux, thats didn't help than my dr said it was all in my head.. based on lab work I was fine.
Until March 2021 I felt a lump, went to my ENT he send me for an ultrasound, than biopsy, then I got the news I had cancer. I had surgery, I had radiation and now it's check every 3 months months checks to make sure it doesn't spread.
Glad to hear you caught it and had it taken care of. There are far too many stories of doctors missing cancer symptoms. I hope you let those doctors who missed your symptoms know they missed diagnosing someone with cancer!
I am 16 and I have a giant mass where my thyroid is. I got blood work done and I have an ultrasound coming up. My mom had thyroid cancer only a few years ago and I’m kinda scared.
I just had UTZ and TSH blood tests done. My blood test is normal. I’m neither hypo or hyper. But I have two nodules in my thyroid. I actually am worrying too much

I had my levels checked too. Everything normal. All vitamins normal. White blood cells were very high and so were I believe CR protein. I did get a biopsy on the bigger nodule it came back as cancer. I decided to remove my entire thyroid because there were many more nodules growing on the left side.
I have a lump on the side of my neck that pops out when I laugh really hard, it doesn’t hurt or anything

Hey! When I got the vaccine I had swelling too. Something the nurses didn’t tell me was that the vaccine can cause swelling of the lymph nodes, after a week or so it went away for me. When I went to the doctor she was like yeah that’s a side effect they should’ve told you :/

Hey Marshal. I strongly recommend that you have a checkup ASAP. I had all of those symptoms and got diagnosed with thyroid cancer just 2 weeks ago. It could be something else (hopefully) but to be safe, please go see a doctor. I wish you the best!

Be careful...I’m 23 and while getting a physical for re entry into the military had a nodule discovered. Waiting on results from the ultrasound however it’s a little unsettling as it runs in my family genes. The youngest, my cousin who’s 27 has already had it and had surgery to take care of it. You can never be too sure! Be safe!

@@Yvettep777 the samples they took were benign. I’m going to an ears nose and throat doctor to get a second opinion. I hope you get good news, the wait is unbearable to get the results.
@@Yvettep777 I believe I got my biopsy done on a Thursday and received a call the next Monday.
@@Yvettep777 yeah that’s understandable. Mine was classified as TR4 so it was very scary. But just remember that even malignant traits do not mean it is in fact malignant.
@@Yvettep777 yes they did an ultrasound and the doctor listed off all the different characteristics and noted it as TR4
@@Yvettep777 TR4 doesn’t mean that it’s cancerous. There are just more characteristics of a cancerous nodule than a TR3 or lower. Even a TR5 can be benign but the odds are much lower.
