*Meanwhile in the Percussion Section*
EXACTLY! He did percussion dirty in this piece.
I loved this song but it was so hard to play on oboe! I even switched to the 2nd oboe part and it was still hard!
should have been in d
The orchestral version is in D (major).
@@obinnanwakwue5735 still
@@joseph8057 actually I just remembered there's a grade 4...never mind that's in Db
*Percussionist just sit there*
Right lmao
That shade tho I'm a snare drum player and our rule is percussion never sit down, we stand
@@river737 we get yelled at if we sit
I played this in high school and our band director made parts for the percussion to play.
@@625699 that’s a smart band director
When you play the less advanced version of this song and feel inadequate...
Asa Dunn for some reason, I’m listening this on thanksgiving
Asa Dunn for some reason, I’m listening to this on Christmas Eve.
5:42 for Bassoons is like riding a bike but the ground is on fire and the bike is on fire and you are in hell
Keon Taheri hi keon
Hi jillian
that part looks fun what
@@toxiboi5771 he probably wasn't very good at the time so he thought that looked hard
Any woodwinds here?
6:09: I expected a crash cymbal, I was extremely disappointed.
For some reason I'm listening to this 3 days before Halloween
2 days before for me. Our band played this last year and I hope we play it again this year
2x2cuber14 I’m listening during Lent 😂

5:42 was a nightmare
This is my first year not in band and my friend just told me that they’re playing this song again (we played it in 8th grade at my junior high) and now I’m depressed.
I love the out come of this song, but it’s so hard to play!!!
I didn’t have much trouble with it and I play first tenor sax
I love the low brass, gut blow beginning. Solid Tuba part and I loved it !!!!
IKR imma tuba player and like im pretty good so i can play it but i can see how the rest of the band would struggle
4:30 my favorite part flutes and French horn
Laughing Jack it’s trumpets, not French horn
That's trumpet. I play French horn.

Jillian Boles if you can play it slowly you can play it quickly
Yes

Sounds bad
It doesn't seem to come to an end it just stops suddenly
no?
we play this every year at the end of our prism concert
The Piccolo Experience: supposed to be heard 152. Not the time 152, the measure
5:14 is not fun if you play the flute
Bethan Cozens I think clarinets also play the same thing
very true
@@korrasoul flute takes way more air to play than clarinet. They have it a lot easier
Cobra true, I play flute and fr I almost pass out
As a clarinet, I died
We’re playing this for our 8th grade Christmas concert and we just started it and the concert is in a few weeks😭
💀
I'm playing for Christmas in 7th grade

I’m in Symphonic(top) band and we r playing this song and it’s SO fun!!! I play the flute and I play 1st flute in this and it’s the best lol
I’m playing this tonight for my concert😬
Same man
So just writing it in a different key makes it less advanced? I’m not hating, I’m just confused 🤔
Well some keys are easier to play in than others.
@@obinnanwakwue5735 I double checked. The only key thats different is the first key. Original is in Db Major and in this version its Eb Major. Everything else is identical.
gary sis Theres just a few articulation differences as well
I'm picking this song but less advanced to if he'll accept it
im playing this for my christmas performance (in 7th grade)
I play this for our Christmas concert
5:08
I just got this song I’m in the top band and it’s really difficult
What's the point of this transcription if it's no easier than the original?
*me and my fellow percussionist in the back chilling*
Anyone play Christmas proclamation?

@@Mia-hj2ls Texas moment
@@Mia-hj2lssame reaction bro
Seriously, why try to fix what isn't broken? Another disappointing, watered-down arrangement...
Also, what's up with these transitions to easier key signatures? Almost none of those transitions make any sense.
Uhh dude you realize kids play this? Not meant for like professionals
@@yourmother3207 there is already a simplified version arranged by R.W. Smith, but this arrangement is just a worse version of the original, with questionable transitions, slurs, reinstrumentations... so I am fully agree with you @Kyle Ruggles
what is bro yapping abiut
literally 8th grade kids play this, it’s not arranged for high level bands
@@shulmpino5505"bro" is saying he doesn't give a shit about your opinion. Move on, my dude - it's been a few years.
@@kyleruggles8754 it’s just that this comment is so beyond stupid it has no reason existing in this comment section, also you were and still are a grown man and when you made this comment I was 8, don’t get offended at me💀
