My high school band played this every year in the 80s-2000s. My parents listened to it 12 years in a row. Me on flute and then my brothers the following 8 years on trombone and tuba. Then there was the year the chime fell on the floor. Clunk.
This is my first year not in band and my friend just told me that they’re playing this song again (we played it in 8th grade at my junior high) and now I’m depressed.
Grade 2: Simplified version with a simplified key signature Grade 3: Longer, Harder, but still a easy key signature Grade 4: The original band version, like the grade 3 one but with a harder key signature Orchestra: The original version of the song, and the longest one
@@obinnanwakwue5735 I double checked. The only key thats different is the first key. Original is in Db Major and in this version its Eb Major. Everything else is identical.
Seriously, why try to fix what isn't broken? Another disappointing, watered-down arrangement... Also, what's up with these transitions to easier key signatures? Almost none of those transitions make any sense.

I love the out come of this song, but it’s so hard to play!!!
I didn’t have much trouble with it and I play first tenor sax
I love the low brass, gut blow beginning. Solid Tuba part and I loved it !!!!
IKR imma tuba player and like im pretty good so i can play it but i can see how the rest of the band would struggle
@@jasonvalentino395yeah, because it’s tenor sax

Played this song and I love it soooo much! My fave song even tho it’s a little tricky! (I played 2nd violin part, still very tricky!)
5:14 is not fun if you play the flute
Bethan Cozens I think clarinets also play the same thing
very true
@@korrasoul flute takes way more air to play than clarinet. They have it a lot easier
