Great video. I have 400,000 miles experience in a box truck. I would recommend an automatic transmission that offers less fatigue from shifting. Air brakes provide the best stopping power in today's crazy urban driving conditions. I'm currently looking at used Hino and M2 box trucks as a replacement for my Isuzu FTR.
I drive a isuzu ftr 26ft box truck it's got almost 500,000 you can say all you want but when you get into those tight city streets a cab over is superior esp delivering to Post Offices that were built a 100yrs ago and never really ment for these sized trucks to get into I was at one a few weeks ago and a guy in a freightliner was ahead of me and took him 12 mins I watched the clock of him going in forward and reverse and finally someone had to get up outta bed come down to the street and move there car and he still had trouble getting into the dock spot I was able to get in there without any issues. The only thing that sucks on it is the brakes there not air and there power so if the truck shuts off for any reason they do not work believe me I've had it happen.
BOTH trucks are GREAT to drive as for NOT having a Class A CDL or Class B CDL .. I drove for this courier logistics company that had a Freightliner M2 with a reefer unit for the box bc I picked up freight like “frozen chocolate, frozen fish and other healthy meals” that needed to stay cold till I got to the shipping & receiving company/facility .. I’m looking into becoming an owner operator and getting the Freightliner M2 dry van and getting a Mercedes Benz Sprinter Cargo Van and build my fleet with 10 box trucks and 10 Sprinter Cargo Vans and then get Owner Operators with CDL to drive under my authority and earn the passive residuals from that
@@MrDmacc1 I like the Freightliner because the automatic transmission to put it in Drive, M1, M2, M3, Reverse or Neutral was a click of a button. I don’t like the stick shift in the International M2. I’ve yet to drive a HINO but I don’t like the gearshift next to the driver seat but it’s a Japanese motor which is a good motor company as an import 👍🏽
@@ChairmanPaulieD I'm in the market for one, I've heard good on both, just like you said, but The Freighluner has been said to be a true work horse. Are you an owner op
Hey there Jay, I have a Class A CDL but I'd rather work with a truck the size of those box trucks because it would be easier to park it at home when I'm not working. My question to you would be; how to find loads?
One thing is lots of people that is or want to get into box truck driver owner operator want to do most of the maintenance their self so if we could have seen the engine that would have been nice... But other than that good video...
Sup my brother. You have any recommendations on a trucking software company for bookkeeping that has a simple format? I’m starting a box truck business and would appreciate some advice. Thanks and keep killin it!!!
what is your monthly gas bill on one truck? Or let's say you put 4000 miles a month on your Hino truck, what would that be in gas $. Thanks for your video, very good
What's up Jay I have your guide on box trucks I have my CDL AS WELL anyway I have steps 1,2,3. 4 and 5 I don't Know where to go from here 😅 Could you help me?
You need a job to finance anything bro. People won’t let you borrow knowing you can’t pay it back. You gotta submit check stubs and possibly bank statements etc…
You can get a LLC startup business Loan that doesn't require you to submit paystubs (in other words don't need a job) they go based off your personal credit score which 650 and up theyainly approve. You're welcome. Buykng a brand new box truck for 46k cash with low low miles amd 2018. And I just pay the bank back with business income but truck is definitely paid off. Also, go to credit union community bank
Just found your channel and it's super informational man...if you can, can you give some tips on where to best find used trucks..are there auctions, FB or Craigslist is the way to go ? Or is financing from a dealer better ?
2:01 my young fella ! Hino has not anymore toyota engines since the last 15 years ! Of course you don't know this but this is the truth ! So stop giving false (fake) info to the young brothers there :) Before they fall in in some bad situation :) or a big problem with a used truck !
You don't need CDL to drive a 26ft The only thing is that you're gonna be carrying stuff below 26000 pound If your gonna haul something over 26000 pounds then you need a class b license
I'm trying to start my box truck business is the investment worth the return please let me know im about to get one in December or January after holidays please let me know
dude are you from paterson? im from newark im shooping for a truck now and my mechanic charges me 140 dollars to go check out a truck, do you think its too much? if so do you have any sugestions?
I see you are based on ny/nj. Which state are u registered under ? I got a quote from progressive for a 2017 international with the minimum Amazon relay requires and got quoted 60k for the year all money upfront ! That’s ridiculous . (Financing in ny)

Big facts bro who inspired you
As a driver, I completely agree with everything you are saying. You know your trucks brother. You are a guy if work for.
I'd be concerned about that push button selector on that automatic. I would trust a mechanical selector shift much better.

just brought a 2019 freightliner m2 from penske!! appreciate the advice fam.

Isuzu has a better reliability than hino and better turning radius. Almost all trucks now have a 6.7 Cummins and paired with a Allison Transmission.
Love seeing young guys do their thing like this 💪🏽💯.

Jay would you recommend renting over buying!
I would like to box truck the Freightliner 26-footer
Thanks for the infomation! What about the 24ft vs 26ft? I see you have both. Which is more preferred?
On 24’ is it hard to find loads rather than a 26’?? I’m in the process to buy one but 24 are easier to find 26 are rare in my area and are high
You’ll be fine with a 24
Thanks for the info Jay.
