I really want to see the Sonoma County sheriff helicopter Henry one on this RUclips page. They are right up the road from CHP Golden Gate air ops and they work closely with chp
I saw them up close when I was “in” HS. They rescued me off the big rock on China Beach. We were cutting school, getting high. Tide came up. Got our info, I asked if they were going to call my parents. “No, just for the report”. Haha. My dad “Where were you today!” …. Me, “School…”. Him. “Oh really…. Why did the Sheriff call me and tell me he was going to charge me 1972.00 to rescue you off a rack at the beach?” 😂. He was pissed SRPD. Assholes. Sebastopol PD. Cool. Sonoma Sheriff Dept. 100% Respect. Thank you guys!
The dude that pilots it is bad ass. Idk if it’s the same guy but I heard they volunteer and aren’t necessarily a sheriff but a citizen pilot that was sworn in because they’re good at flying. I always notice Henry when he flies over
That was fantastic! If there ever was a “CHiPs” reboot on television, it should focus on the work of the California Highway Patrol air operations. These folks have the coolest job.
Theses guys are amazing people I use to work with them and maintain there fix wing and helicopters , I all ways loved my job and working with these guys 💯
Why do you have an American username, the police are sucker's for hearting it. Half the people that fly are Foreigners or don't go around acting like the typical American
You can fly for the U.S. law enforcement. Move to the U.S. via a visa or seek citizenship, and it's easier than it seems, and after that, you too could be law enforcement in the U.S. it's up to you and how bad you want it, just apply yourself and you will see. Good luck!
Beautifully filmed, and a great operation they have going on there. Just one question out of interest, it seems they have quite a few overwater tasks with their single engined Eurocpters, but no pop-out floats fitted. Is it a weight issue on these As350s?
Thank you! Actually a really good point, and something we didn’t ask. Could be weight or it could be related to the close proximity to the shore for their overwater tasks - maybe a combination of both.
Patrolling San Francisco and then you proceeded to show the helicopter in Marin, San Mateo coast, east bay etc. You only had two shots of San Francisco both were outside the city limits. The only time we actually see it in San Francisco is when it’s landed on Ocean Beach way out as far away from the city as possible. It seems like they don’t patrol San Francisco and really just patrol the coast and the counties because I’m pretty sure San Francisco patrols with its own units
4:15 I just googled it. It says the hottest it get on average is 71. That’s adorable. You guys would melt in 80 degrees. Thats actually embarrassing. Not a pilot, but I feel any helicopter would still be extremely happy in 90 degree days.
They fly out of Napa but the area they serve huge. There is plenty of areas within the Golden Gate division that reaches over 100 degrees regularly in the summertime.
It's easy to have a 60 degree temperature swing flying 15 minutes from base to SF. While SF may be 64, the surrounding areas may be 112. You can always spot the tourists because they'll be shivering in shorts and an overpriced, tacky, souvenir sweater because it was hot where they were driving from.
What specific city did you google to get that average temp? SF? Half Moon Bay? Pacifica? Redwood City? The Golden Gate division is vast and covers a huge range of temperatures. Google Livermore, or Pittsburgh, or Napa, and see what the average summer temps are. That’s just one division in NorCal. The others all deal with much higher temps, especially the Valley and Central divisions, where temps will hover between 95-110º everyday throughout summer. I think the point of them brining up the wide temp differential is because the Golden Gate division probably has the highest range of daytime temps in their small footprint, and that their airship does just fine. It helps to know the geography and climate before criticizing them.
As an aspiring guard pilot with the eventual goal/dream of flying CHP…this is the exact fuel I needed to keep pushing forward. Thanks 🙏🏼
Good luck!
@@Verticalmagmediamuch appreciated 🙏🏼
Outstanding! Thank you for all you guy's do everyday.

Stay tuned... 👀
New sub, would like to see this as well as a resident and a aspiring heli pilot.

Best job in the whole entire world. Respect.
I am Cali FAN and let me tell you this is the coolest thing ever and my cuz is a CHP Motor Biker and he has seen these guys in-person and he loves it

That’s a great idea!
This Ecureuil/Squirrel is a very useful helicopter-family since 50(!) years. 🤗Yes, the AS-350 protoype's first flight was in 27 june 1974...
Having “H30” calling your pursuit is one of the best feelings in the world!

I wish as a foreigner I could fly for U.S law enforcement.. That job looks amazing.

And very humble fellas too. I liked how they didn't come across as arrogant, when in doing the job they do, they could easily be that way 👍
Incredible video Lloyd. Keep up the fantastic work.👍🚁
Thanks Jack!

Thank you!!! This is why you flew away with me
Splendid!!
I'd love to be a crew member on one of these aircraft. I was a helicopter crew chief in the Army and really miss it.
Beautiful footage and a great description of a job that seems to be one of the best for every helicopter pilot!
Thank you!
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This video…nicely done 👌
Glad you liked it!
Great video, very interesting viewing.
I wish they didn’t have the 2 year on the ground cop experience requirement 😭😭
Worthy.
Hey I helped build those helicopters nice to see them on the job. 😊
That is awesome!
