- This song is long, so very very long... anyways, the description is taken from Wikipedia: "It's used to reformat and shut down the Infel Phira song server, taking out also all the IPD Reyvateils that are connected to it. Also, it "sublimates" everything material in Metafalss and sends it into Infel Phira as data and souls."
The song is sung by Yuuko Ishibashi, who sung for Reisha in Ar Tonelico II. Enjoy!
Additional Note: Frelia is the singer in game, Reisha and Frelia have the same Hymn Teller.

I love how at the beginning her voice is high-pitched and childish, reflecting when all the desires were for peace and happiness. But then as those desires are beat down and hope shattered, the voice and lyrics get more and more mature and dark.
The song is fine and all listening it by itself, but when you're stuck in Bell strike hall for 2 hours listening to this nonstop because you're trying to 100% the game and get every I.P.D. that shows up in the hall at this point, you just want to tear your eardrums out...
ZephyrZXA makes me think back to those.. all my data was erased on multiple files.. but I’ll never forget it. Ar tonelico was always my favorite, even the Ar no Surge prequel. I honestly wish they’d put out more games. The dive system and just all of it was and forever shall be unique. Ar tonelico will relain forever in my heart and soul.

@@snailthelostcow63 True, they hit a cash cow formula with the start of the Arland series and ever since all they've done is repeat that just with some slight changes such as experimenting with the synthesis systems, I really feel GUST have hit upon a somewhat good method to tell a grand overarching plot that spans an entire trilogy without resorting to sequel bait with the Ar tonelico series as it felt like each game had its own complete self contained story yet also making it so each games ending was crucial for the ultimate end goal of saving the planet (i.e Mir's redemption in 1 leads to her finding a possible way to save the planet in 2 which leads to 3 and so on)
@@snailthelostcow63 Most of the Atelier Game are Slice-Of-Life RPG where the main story isn't the main focus, but the character interactions is. I really enjoy them as being RPG that are different in term of story than most of those games. However, I do want the Ar Tonelicos to come on Steam one day.

It starts off so pretty and hopeful, then it just gets worse and worse until finally our poor heroine breaks down and gives up...and the world ends. So powerful.
Truly fantastic apocalypse music.
Yuko Ishibashi... wow. Ever since I played that part of the game, where you get to enjoy this mighty song during one of those totally unexpected twists this series is knows for, this hymn chills me to the bone. Consistently.
And Yuko Ishibashi just nails the whole transformation of the voice, going from childish innocence to pitch black despair, and everything in between (11:09 such HATE. My favorite verse of the song!).
The whole concept of the hymn, both what it is used for and how it achieves it is just impressive. It's peak worldbuilding and storytelling.
And storytelling it is.
The lyrics are actually recounting both the general story of Reyvateils and Song Magic, the tragedy of the Grathnode Inferia and the fate of the Three Towers, as well as that of the most prominent Reyvateils of them all, but also the most tragic: Eolia/Shurelia, Frelia, Tyria, Mir, Infel and Nenesha. How they were born to be something glorious, how their purpose was twisted, how their works were tainted, until they could only sing for destruction, in one way or another.
Yes, Mir is the one who got by far the shortest end of the stick, but the other five also had a pretty rough, and unbearably long and lonely life until each met those that could, as the song puts it "find the path to the ideal land". Whatever that ideal land means for each of them (Lyner for Shurelia, Shun for Frelia, Aoto for Tyria, Croix for Mir, and just plain old final rest and the fulfilment of their desire for Infel and Nenesha, who are basically ghosts at that point in time).
But, it does not end there!
Considering the peculiarities of Song Magic, and hymns in particular, EXEC_HIBERNATION also contains the veritable deluge of emotions interwoven into the tale it conveys. And it is that deluge of emotions, chiefly the utter despair tainting the whole thing ("But the seeds are tainted with the color of dark grey", what a verse to end a song...), that it basically melts the minds of the poor IPDs and turns them into the most wicked and twisted resonance chamber ever conceived.
This game may pose as a "bright and cheerful, fanservice-ridden, waifu simulator", but it has some seriously dark themes and ideas, just laying there in plain sight.
I wish the whole EXA_PICO universe got a remake with modern tech, with all the know-how Gust has accumulated in recent years with the Atelier series. Just fix the technical parts, and tone down the damn fanservice and gratuitous dumb comedy, as it detracts from the overall tone of the whole thing. And in a series where "tone" is such a cardinal element... going overboard as they did is a sin (I swear, those subquests from AT 2 onward, they went too far with the "silliness" of characters like Cynthia, Saki and Finnel, Tatoria, Skycat, etc.).
Anyway, my own personal grievances of the series aside, I love the whole EXA_PICO universe. Its lore, its worldbuilding, its character (yes, despite their mandatory, by-the-manual quirks and tropes), and most of all: its music.
Such awesome layers it possesses!
the fact that a lot of the gratuitous fanservice(not all of it, but at least the most in-bad-taste parts for sure, woga aside that is) come from NISA's creative liberties in adapting the game's trnaslation... oof.
This song doesn't recount anything like that. It's just a telling of the Zodal Rhaplanca legend from Meta Falss as per Infel's own emotions and preferences, with the second part to it being told in Implanta.
The voice actress does a superb job at expressing the pain and anguish near the end of the song.

You know, I've just been playing this hymn to have a background for a little drawing. It isn't the first time I listen to it, however the more it went on, the more I felt attracted like a magnet to the lyrics and the feelings behind the music and then I didn't lift my eyes from the text until the end.
Ar Tonelico truely inspired me.
After hearing it ingame and before I ever looked at the lyrics, I felt this song was a sad and lonely journey in 3/4. Only after reading them did I realize it was also a song of harrows, given how they get darker and more torturous over time...thanks for making this! Now I can give it to friends to listen and read all at once :3
The looped version of this song puts "Highbrow" from Star Ocean: Till The End Of Time to shame. A two-looped version of "Highbrow" is nearly 20 minutes while this song breaks 27 minutes.

That's... how it is for Reyvateils.
The reason why this song kills every I.P.D. is because it erases their cosmospheres, which are stored on Infel Pira.
However, that interpretation would fit better with the second part of this song's story, which is told in METHOD_IMPLANTA/.. This one is simply: "humans are crooked by their desires for power and ambitions to the point in which it's impossible to redeem them, so they should just sleep eternally in a world where neither life or death exist".
Why bother? This song is so awesome, now words can describe the magnitud of the meaning, feelings of pain and regret feels it. Nothing will change what you are, your mistakes, but if you try, maybe one day, that someone will forgive you, and someday you'll realize, that persone never blamed you. This song is so awesome

The song is long because the effect needs to cover all of metafalss.
I think the idea of the background is the Reyvateils are going up in flames of their opposite element.

It makes sense anyway, Cloche has a sun adorned on her head while Luca has the moon, you're ok.
I like the song without knowing the meaning but now that I've seen it, it sounds even more beautiful!!!!
They failed in translating the titles themselves, but not their affiliations: Cloche is the Maiden of Mio (Waterway), and Luca is the Maiden of Homura (Flame), and that only translates to their color schemes and roles during the singing of Metafalica, but not to their personalities and Song Magic.
I understand completely why some people can't stand this song, but the payoff when the drums kick in make the length worth it for me. Ishibashi killed it with this song.

It's Frelia, but Yuko Ishibashi did the hymns and songs for both Reisha and Frelia.

The song is very creepy because it reminds me of the end of the world.
Its ment to in away since she can't save them because of how they are acting, its not far from the humanity we have here.

Hmm, i hear like 2-3 "voices" in this song. Is it supposed to be sung by Cloche, Luca and Reisha?
Reisha is the main singer, Luca is the second and Cloche is the third :).
It's sung by Frelia. Reisha, Luca and Cloche have nothing to do with this song. It's also stated in the video's description.

Don't want to be annoying but I wonder if you realized that placing Cloche with a red background and Luca with a blue background is incorrect as Luca's the Maiden of Fuero and Cloche the Maiden of Aqua.

Camilla Pierre yep, the bird representative human, the one weave / create the seeds is Rhaplanca. I can’t explain about rhaplance much , but in this story / song she’s the one make the thousand seeds by singing in temple. Maybe she’s kinda a legend

She is a legendary figure in-universe. Look up songs: Salavec Rhaplanca, Infelious Rhaplanca and Method Implanta. I don't know if there is any official art of her, but there must be some fanart.

Ulrikfs probably because of the feelings contained in the song, that are supposed to end the world in the end of the music. ( From happiness in the first minutes go to despair). And it suits the situation well.
Plus, it plays as the soundtrack throughout one long, playable part of the game.

Not at all. They don't have the same effects, and musically and lyrically they couldn't be any more different, as Linker is much more aggressive.

Aria Saeryen Being blunt is part of my nature, and sorry, but I can't change how I am. And aside of that, if an interpretation is at odds about how the songs are actually from the musical standpoint, what the lyrics say or for what they are used in the game, it should be corrected.
@@aquagondrag Depends... Linker is more direct (just Mir "downloading" herself into Aurica), while Hibernation is basically Infel hacking into the IPDs, melting their minds, and using them to form an unholy chorus to put Metafalss in stasis.
Violence can be both active and passive, and IMO, both hymns are violent as hell. One is focused (Linker), while the other is spread out (Hibernation).
Errm... that isn't Shikata. It's Ishibashi, and the description also states this.
