For those of you new and discovering this masterpiece, the ghost laugh you hear at 7:07 are the producers celebrating that they finally had their perfect take after hundreds of hours, and unfortunately had to leave it in.
Always wondered what that laugh was and if that's the real reason, man, I'm even happier it's there. It's such a pure laugh of joy after such hard work.

It's a PS2 exclusive sadly. The main characters all use magic powered by singing. Made by GUST; mostly known for the Atelier games. That's about all you gotta know. Soundtrack is incredible. This is the Credit's theme. My personal favorite song is either EXEC_HARMONIUS or EXEC_LINCA from the first game at least, there's quite a few entries. They actually sing the credits theme in-universe.

They even created a whole functioning language for the three games, which is Hymmnos! and even has its dialects! 😊 that, aside from the Surge Concerto ones (Surge Concerto is a couple of games which serve like a prelude to Ar Tonelico) There are playlists here on youtube that have a lot of Ar Tonelico 1, 2 & 3 songs and the Surge Concerto ones :D (SORRY IF I SEEM TOO EAGER AAAA

This music shows what Ar Tonelico is... It's perfect, great history, great characters and great music, after hours playing it that's what you get, a great reward, more than a music, a masterpiece.
I love how there is a string trio playing starting from 1:19. The instruments are placed like the three reyvateils too. One on the right, one in the middle, one on the left.
I remember the first time I beat the game. I was so captivated by the song I didn't look away from the ending credits once. I was like a little girl in a show. My eyes were wide open and I had a smile on my face. It's my favorite Ar Tonelico I song and it has such beautiful lyrics... It's an amazing work of art

Noriko Mitose is really an All purpose singer. In this song she through Shurelia made me shiver with excitement and gratitude but in exec Xaaaaaci AT 3 song she made shiver in fear and repentance........ Power of hymmnos.
Amazing job with the switching, since the transition between the three vocalist is what I love the best, you highlighting each when they sing is just pure excitement for me. :)) This song will never get old to me. Though I love Metafalica, I thing Phantasmagoria lash out Mitose Noriko's singing prowess to the max. :D

Thanks so much for helping me appreciate this song. Although typical people can't understand hymmnos, it's a shame that english players can't understand the japanese parts of the songs. Maybe putting subtitles in the game wouldn't have worked, but looking at these video's inbetween playing the games really do improve it.

at first I bought and play Ar Tonelico because the art style is similar to Atelier Iris 2 (which I love to bits) but then was mesmerized with the musical pieces. Atelier already has amazing songs but the hymnos in ar tonelico blew me away
Now that I've heard almost all of Akiko Shikata's music, I tried to distinguish her voice here when they were singing together. It wasn't easy, all I could get was "Akiko's is the highest voice."
