I’m studying a 63 slides presentation about hydration, I swear this 8 min summarizes the whole 4 hours lecture and gives better understanding about the subject!
Actually, when it comes to the body and osmosis , only water will be able to go from a place to another, in order to prevent deshydratation, our body will make the water go from the less concentrated place in osmolytes to the more concentrated one in order to dilute the compartiment ( i hope that you understood)
Solutes go from the most concentrated to the less concentrated compartment whereas the solvant goes from the less concentrated in solutes to the most concentrated in solutes compartment
Nice info. I most enjoyed the surprise meeting of the narrator at the end when I was expecting the links to more videos. Kind personality shone through then & made me like the video & info MORE. Plus appreciated hearing there are MORE videos (as he checked) available only on the website that aren't on RUclips. I do hope they are aslo free, as that was not clear.
It's not just how much but the quality of the water that matters. Regular water is dead water that can't hydrate you no matter how much of it you drink.
There are studies that show plain water actually isn’t the most ideal drink for hydration, a glass of skim milk, or even cold tea, is far more hydrating than a glass of water.
Is it possible to lose electrolytes via urination by drinking too much water? Will normal functioning kidneys allow this, or will they just pass the excess water via urination? What are people who drink distilled water doing to their water/electrolyte balance in their bodies?
Yes, it is possible. Too much water like for example >1gallon per day can be the cause of a lower Na+ (sodium) level. Normal functioning kidneys will allow this despite of any "medical condition" being present. If you overdo water you will flush out your electrolytes. I work in a hospital and see it all the time. We just had a pt that was drinking over a gallon of water a day and we had to provide salt tabs to help bring it back up.
People who have a G-tube typically are receiving some sort of enteral nutrition through the tube by formula because they cannot eat by mouth. The formula will provide some water/hydration but not all that is why it is so important for them to receive adequate "flushes" to prevent dehydration.
Some of the IFIC Supporters: The Coca-Cola Company, Nestle, Pepsi Co, Red Bull Not sure if I should trust them when they tell me to drink more. I will keep drinking only when I am thirsty.
I lived with a fella who only drunk maccas coke. He would also smoke crazy amounts of synthetic cannabis. He would be so stoned he would pee all over the seat. His pee was blood red..
Plz sir make a vid about dehydration for the first time this video of yours wasn't the vid I wanted although the title wasn't dehydration but still I was expecting should be the thing I want as always my searching was stopped when I reach to your vid but not this time 🥺
Bullshit, your body not consistent 60% of water, it's actually 0. Blood is. 2: drinking plain water cause kidney problems cause it's already busy with blood filtration. 3:water actually dehydrate your cells unless it's a fruit juice that actually hydrate you for longer than water. But if you drink plain water it's just a vicious cycle of putting stress on the kidneys and death. 4: dry lips is diffecincy in Fat, not water cause water again dehydrated your lips cells. My summary: all the things the doctors say nowdays it's a system to kill you.

It is crystal clear that we should be drinking water, not commercial junk.
YES YES YES
I like the pun
Great video ! Please do more physiology videos, they make everything clear !
Thank you! helped with science fair, trying to study hydration and the amount of electrolytes in drinks :)
Great video as usual, but I think dewdrops are held together by surface tension not hydrogen bonds.
Its both actually
2:56 isn't it the inverse? A solution will move from a more concentrated place to a less concentrated one( a bit like diffusion)

Watching this while dehydrated would be the most torturous thing ever!
Where did you find the unit of measurement "glass" defined?

Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you! ❤️ We offer a 7-day free trial at osmosis.org (no credit card needed) that you can sign up for anytime! 😊

What's that? Regular water?
Cheers! Thank you
Please add more embryology videos

No it does not. Your body only needs a certain amount>

Modest Pelican?
Pls make a video on fluid therapy
It’s very hard to do, but just remember to not drink too much water at one time. Just drink a bit more than you think you need I guess.
Great video
Is hydrated good?

I was wondering why patients with the gastronomy tube die from dehydration?

I actually am drinking crystal light lemonade rn. Thx for the pee reference lol
What is the current state of hydration?
Thank you !
Hmm.. I'm feeling grateful for my bodyy !!!

Erik Be sure. You must not trust any major corporations.
If you drink only when your thirsty you’ll get very dehydrated

Good video. I just posted my video on hydration yesterday. Tell me what you think. Let's follow each other on Hydration journey.
water - natural detox
yay, osmosis!
thanks for the tips & give me your mug!
i thought water is just something drinkable and not something u need to be professional to know what water is😂
Watch adam ruins everything about hydration just drink when your thirsty
Sir I don't understand the difference between hydrolysis and hydration
both are the reverse
Why's it blurred?
How people are able to drink 3L of water a day?
Plz sir make a vid about dehydration for the first time this video of yours wasn't the vid I wanted although the title wasn't dehydration but still I was expecting should be the thing I want as always my searching was stopped when I reach to your vid but not this time 🥺
