What a show! Almost every watch worthy of a comment. The PO1 has a genuine toolishness that's Sinn like where all other Tudors look alike and the Gronfeld movement is amazing in it's finishing. Like your minimalist format too, especially the "instant lume" shots. Thanks for a cheery Wed.
Tim you outdid yourself on this one. This has got to be the greatest and most unique show of wake up with watches that you guys have produced. Thank you guys so much for this content.
Love these watches today. The Gronefeld finishing absolutely sparkles in the video. I’m sure (in the flesh as it were) looks outstanding. Long video but I need to re-watch!! Great work Tim.
Dude, I love your reviews. You get in, lay out the facts like a plume coming out of a volcano, then move on and grind it out. No one come slide to your delivery and presence. You leave the viewer excited about the pieces, and do not waste any of her or his time in the process. Keep publishing, Tmosso, we will keep tuning in.
A first for the channel. And it only took me 3,000+ videos on this platform to see my first Gronefeld. That said, I've met Tim and Bart and inspected their watches at SIHH, so I did have some firsthand experience in other arenas. Best, Tim
I'm not sure that I have any associations with the design, and I like that. This is a rare Tudor that I like because it doesn't look like all the other Black Bays. Best, Tim
The Grönefeld is the stunner of this show. Can't even decide which one I love more - De Bethune, Laurent Ferrier, Grönefeld. Definitely all more than FPJ and also HMoser, even though they are still great independents. Don't mention Greubel Forsey now, that is just so out of my league, I wouldnt even consider them :)
I'm a huge Portofino fan. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who knows that this model line exists. It hasn't received a full-line relaunch since 2011, so maybe IWC itself doesn't know the Portofinos exist. Best, Tim
5:50 - Yes Percy, I don't want to be pedantic or anything, but the color of gold... is gold. That's why it's called gold. What YOU have discovered, if it has a name, is some... Green.
The 2nd-gen Sinn Damaszener looks so much nicer in its natural steel tone, rather than with the hard-black coating of the original 2016 version. Which was wonderful too, but resembled Black Ash more than Damascus steel IMO. Oh and the Grönefeld’s movement looks stunning!
The original was curiously masked by the hard-black treatment; you almost couldn't see the pattern. I wonder if the coating didn't have something to do with Sinn not achieving the desired effect on bare steel. The first watch had an SUG-made (Sinn) case, but the second one wasn't SUG-stamped, and Sinn notably credited German supplier Balbach Damast with providing the wrought steel this time. Best, Tim
WatchBox Reviews you might be onto something there. As in hindsight Sinn hard-black coating what is usually quite beautiful Damascus steel, seemed an odd decision.
That's a good idea. Certainly, I've considered adding a few more Sinns to my EZM 1.1. The Damaszener II and the 104 green would be high on my list along with a full-tegiment U50 and the tegiment bracelet accessory for my current watch. Best, Tim
Gotta do what ya gotta do with the title to get the clicks! I own both of those watches, so it worked for me! I'm still not sure if I have the Hulk in my collection because of the hype or because I actually like it better than my black Sub, but I absolutely love my Omega Apollo 11. That all said, Tim, you could post about an Invicta and I would probably listen to your review. ;)
@@the1916companywatchreviews Always! You're the best in the business. Speaking of which, are you still going to attend law school or perhaps you're already attending and doing this on the side?
I'm glad to find another fan of the P01; I sometimes feel like the only one! Agreed on the EZM 9. It's so much sports watch for under three grand. Best, Tim
@@the1916companywatchreviews Thanks. It would be interesting to know what their intent was at the time of the original prototype design. If it wasn't logged then we'll probably never know.
The hunter caseback would be interesting, but it would diminish the appeal of the thin case somewhat. I'm also not sure that it's a good match for this hollow-lug case design. Best, Tim
Today's show was stacked, and I was happy to achieve that without relying on a monstrous grande complication or Greubel Forsey to finish the set. Best, Tim
I always liked the 5153G. I wished Hunter s were a lot more common! I’ve always loved Breguet’s case design. But those silvered dials look best with white metal cases. They need to offer rose gold and yellow gold dials, respectively, for those case metals. My father would love that yellow dialed SuperOcean! He loves just about anything yellow.
There are some awesome white gold and platinum JLC Master series watches from the 2000s with hunter casebacks. Keep an eye out for those, because they're outstanding value and great fun. Best, Tim
I love the hunter caseback on the Pateck more watches should have that feature it seems quite sensible to me particullarly on watches that cost a fortune .
I saw my first one of those in Singapore last November. It made quite an impression, and I still like it after several encounters. While not rare objectively, I expect that this model will be well-regarded in perpetuity. Best, Tim
Nice work!! Though I must say I kind of miss the old format with you at a desk with a table of watches zooming in on the watch and out on you and your stunning face
I ended that because the images of the watches never were as good. The resolution was awful, and the watches often were out of focus. And there were no lume shots. If I went back to the old style, I think you would miss the image quality of these hands-only features. Best, Tim
Just started watching the show, and sorry Tim I clicked away briefly for the Rolex Day-Date Platinum Ice Blue Wave Dial 118206 Rolex Watch Review, came straight back button though! Carry on...
I kinda liked that one, too. There was a time when I regarded Breitling as something of a peer to Rolex and Omega, and the mid-2000s was that time. This "Cobra yellow" SuperOcean is the type of watch that once inspired my respect for and high esteem of the Breitling brand. Best, Tim
How would the rolex milgauss/airking stack up against the exsplorer 1/ oysterperpetual 39 in terms of case comfort , and movement toughness? If i’m not mistaken the explorer/O.P is significantly thinner and more cuff friendly ; plus the movement has “ paraflex shock absorbers” that the milgauss/airking lack according to the specifications on the rolex website. Is that to say that the explorer/O.P is tougher?
The Millgauss/Air King is a much chunkier watch than the Oyster Perpetual 39. Also, the OP39 includes a more basic bracelet and clasp without Easylink. Paraflex isn't clearly better than Incabloc, but it's notable for being built under Rolex's own roof. This is nice to know, but it's more of a means of liberating Rolex production from outside suppliers. Kif also is very good, and Rolex used that for generations. Best, Tim
Even I don't know the price. We just received it, and I think the sales team is tryin to figure out what a Tourbillon Remontoir this early in the series is worth. Best, Tim
I own a Breguet but not this one. The 5177 is not complicated but absolutely gorgeous. Breguet finishes their watches like no one else. Did not like the JLC or the Tudor. The first Zenith was sharp too.

Well if you've watched several of the other videos, you'll know this one is probably the "affordable" selection (average price-wise). LOL. It's still always interesting and entertaining to see all the watches you'd otherwise wouldn't have access to.
There were quite a few $1,500-5,000 watches in this one, and that's as low a price point as we feature on watches at my company. It's not "cheap," but they're also not disposable, generic brands, or fashion micro-brands that typically occupy price points below the four-figure range. But the advantage is that all of the watches are lifetime serviceable, products of brands that will be around to support owners, and all of these watches has secondary markets with willing buyers if you ever decide to sell. Best, Tim
What a show! Almost every watch worthy of a comment. The PO1 has a genuine toolishness that's Sinn like where all other Tudors look alike and the Gronfeld movement is amazing in it's finishing.

The lume shots are one of the reasons that I've stuck with this format instead of returning to the old desk presentations.
