Personally speaking I was actually fine with the ambiguity of 3. It’s my favorite in the trilogy and I think it’s because its story structure is different. 1 and 2 have a lot more similarities, while 3 takes things in a slightly different direction. Like making the villain an idea and desire rather than a character and of course…the open ended nature of the story. I think they did this to leave it open to interpretation, as most things are either explained in future redeemed or so irrelevant to the story that it makes no sense to be put in the game (like mythra’s kid and why Nia is queen of Agnus. Like we care but if we look at it through the confines of the story it’s super irrelevant to the plot). I do think some things should have been better explained, but if you really take a deep dive into the game you can formulate the answers, which in my opinion is the fun part.
I truly believe that, when it comes to ambiguity being used as a sort of "narrative device", such a "trick" needs to be employed with certainly some balance. I appreciate tidbits left unexplained, because it keeps the discussions in the fandom alive. If all questions were to be answered 100%, theories wouldn't exist and the community itself, once the game is done, would have little to keep convos going. On one hand, sometimes it's a dangerous tactic to employ. Not insulting the audience's intelligence is one thing, but leaving major questions half-answered or not answered at all many times becomes more frustrating than engaging. XC3 and Future Redeemed are my favorites of the bunch, but I won't deny how I feel they should have answered a few of the "dubious" questions more. Like the presence of (FUTURE REDEEMED SPOILERS): Pneuma and Logos' cores should have been made at least a bit clearer or how Noah and Mio exactly generated from N and M's "regrets". Overall, great video! Excited to see others of yours, especially maybe one focused on FR!
Personally the ambiguity is a major reason for why I like the game so much, I really like being able to theorize about the game and It makes me super excited for the next game in the series to see the answers to questions I have.
Xenoblade 3 in general leaves us with a ton of questions lol. It's easily the most frustrating story in the trilogy for me because of it (X is in another league tho)
I agree also I feel the dialogue is xenoblade 3 is the most messy in the series. Like for example in chapter 1 lanz and eunie acknowledge mio as an off-seer and then later after the fight with DJ mio and Noah are playing the flute and eunie wonders if mio is an off-seer. Also characters would say something and then not finish what there saying. I understand as it worked sometimes like it conveyed the message but most of the time I was just left confused a bit. idk about x tho I haven’t played.
I felt like Future Redeemed left everything open ended for a sequel but fulfilling for an ending I think I had a stronger reaction to that ending for the DLC than the base game
It definitely left a lot open ended. There’s also a lot that was indirectly answered too though like who Nikol’s mother is. I also had a stronger reaction to the end of FR than the base XC3 game
@@JustJulyo Exactly, it was basically answered for anyone who’s played XC1 but it was never directly stated. Thats where some of the ambiguity came from
From my memory the endings of Xenoblade 1 and 2 ended pretty definitively, sure there might have been a few loose threads that never quite got tied up nicely, but they seemed pretty cohesive in retrospect. I remember telling my friends that 3 (and most definitely FR) left me with more questions than I went into the games with, at that’s what frustrates me about it. We’re basically given no idea how the world works, at the start and as they explain some things during 3 (and again, heavily in FR) we keep getting exceptions to the rules that are never touched on. Like how there’s just a colony’s worth of people who were brought over from both worlds pretty much fully intact (and seemingly immortal if a common variety bop on is to be believed)
Yeah these are fair arguments. I will say I think the reason for this has to do with us (myself included) having lofty expectations for XC3 and FR such as answering every question we had about 1 and 2 in order to tie things up nicely. It did that to a degree with some things but I can definitely get behind what you’re saying. It makes me wonder if they’re going to continue some sort of story picking up where the very end of FR left off to tie up some more of those loose ends.
I can agree with that assessment, it definitely didn’t help that XC3 was billed as the end of the Klaus saga so I don’t doubt that many of us were expecting answers we never got
Nietschz said " poeple who wants to know the truth are unable to creat it " so let's creat one The two words Fuze again but there is no anhylation. Noah found Mio and they hadn't forgotten about the other they are a couple. The others poeple who had children will fall in love because Melia said origin has the future life born in aionios and I think it's also applied to genetic levels. Taion and Eunie get together because I DO WHAT I WANT IT'S MY FAN FICTION. I kidding they won't be together that easily because they aren't the same poeple since Taion and Eunie personalities were heavily influenced by the war in Aionios. Also Taion is working in a tea shop in a geothermal rest station with Nemue and Isurd. Lanz meets Sena training herself by carrying trees. He is impressed and they started body building. Riku isn't really a leaving being he is a interdimension omnipotent being like every nopon so they going in an other dimension called mira.
I feel like ambiguity is a great way of storytelling, especially when there's confirmation more stories in the series are coming. The way 3 handled it in the base game kinda frustrated me because a lot of things were vague but I was expecting to get some sort of clarity from the DLC. Unfortunately it left us with even more unanswered questions to a point where I feel like the series was better off without Future Redeemed's story, especially since this is the definitive last part of the "Klaus trilogy".
I understand where you’re coming from, but I would have to disagree with the series being better off without FR but that might just be because of the theories that came from it and the fact that it did help to connect the three main games together a little better in my mind considering we got to see Rex and Shulk’s role in the overall story. But that’s also just my opinion and I’m definitely not saying you’re wrong for thinking that way. You make valid arguments for sure
I'll be honest, Future Redeemed's ending didn't land on me at first but after revisiting it a second time (with plenty of theories and internet discourse), it might be my favorite ending in the entire series and one of the best possible send-offs to the Klaus/Blade trilogy. But holding out on Mythra's kid is still unforgivable (until the inevitable Warriors game or next Xeno entry)
About Skye Bennett's tweet... While you are entirely correct that she's entitled to whatever opinion, my issue with her tweet was her attitude. It lacked any sort of professionalism, nuance, or... well, anything really. It more read like a troll post or bait than an actual legitimate take Don't get me wrong. I don't think she deserves backlash regardless, and I sure left her alone and moved on. But I can understand people getting upset by the attitude rather than the actual contents of her take Though there's plenty to disagree about the contents too, considering some of her takes go directly counter to what has been established about some of the Characters. I'll reiterate, though. Not something she should get backlash over, but I can understand that something like that can shake loose some discourse on the topic Also, the tweet has not been deleted. (I'm reading it right now.) Not sure where you got that idea
I tried doing a basic search for it and couldn’t find it. I guess I should’ve looked a little harder. I need to go look at it again but if she was indeed not professional about it as you say, I can definitely understand your viewpoint on that.
@@DerajjParallax Apparently my comment didn't go through, and I noticed it only now. It's probably because it contained a link to the tweet. So, I'll just have to get it to you in a roundabout way. The username is sdsjb and the tweet ID is 1655484822519701507. Especially the last few lines just appear overly immature to me, which is not the kind of attitude you expect from a highly respected voice actress. In fact, if I read this sort of post from anyone else on some random social media, I'd label them as a troll. There's nothing wrong with having a headcanon, but there is something to be said about how you present it. Imagine if you made your videos in a similar tone and vernacular as that tweet
One of the differences is between Eastern and Western storytelling. Western storytelling has a greater degree of exposition and directly showing an element. Eastern storytelling employs more indirect methods to communicate what happened or the meaning. To someone most accustomed to Western methodology this appearance ambiguous because it isn't directly observable but must be inferred. To those used to Eastern stories, the other way appears to be blunt and lacking nuance. The Xenoblade stories are written by Japanese writers. So they are sharing the tale in the way they know best and the viewer will need to collect all of the pieces and assemble the story by filling in the gaps.
Can I just say, as much as Rex’s family dynamic makes me laugh, I think it would have been narratively fitting if Pyra and Mythra stayed dead and he only married Nia? Just me? Ok…
This caught me off guard lol. As much as I like Pyra and Mythra, I also kinda agree with this. Don’t get me wrong, part of me is glad they lived but it almost would’ve made the story a bit more interesting. Like the price the that was paid for the safety of the world was that they died
I think been abigues or answer all that is need is sam, is just have to find right balances or no over do it the trope or scenario are a means to ilustrate the view not be the main sailer

Joke aside its a common criticism with xenoblade 3. Ambiguity and not always explained stuff. It should deserve the dedicated video
