My theory is that after enough cycles of blades being summoned, certain things stick around and cause the data accumulation, basically becoming like dna to form a more humanoid appearance over time, so when theyre "born", like Zenobia, for instance, kept being summoned by thrillseekers as the blades kept passing around, and it solidified into a more varied blade or person as they kept gaining some background influence as they kept gathering data through the system and they basically got bred out
I always viewed 'common blades' as simply being a creative conceit. They're a stand in for the population of wildly varied blades (Blades are literally called 'heteromorphic' after all) that the developers simply could not design in sufficient variety for the purposes of the game. Edit - My head canon for Lanz and other 'machina hybrids' is that they might have results from restoring Face Units to Homs form with children expressing a varying degree of inherited machina traits from their restrored parents.
I always assumed that in xc2 when Klaus says that “the data about their bonded human is sent back to the core crystals creating further evolved blades” he is suggesting that common blades are the early stages of a blades development and they can actually evolve into a rare blades. Meaning that the full life cycle is common > rare > titan (this idea has issues because the few blades that we see that are turning into titans in the Tornan womb look more like common blades but I think this idea can still work). So with this idea in mind I believe that with the data on the old worlds population stored in the core crystals that the appearance of a rare blade is getting closer to that of the appearance of the person who’s data is in that core crystal with added attributes such as animal traits or attributes of appearance from their current or past bonded human. Going on xc3 now, origin could be able to extract the true appearance of every blade when birthing them into Aionios effectively forcing the blades into there fully evolved forms explaining why there are no common blades in xc3. This next idea is a little more of a stretch but I also believe that Z, in an effort to have more control over all people created in Aionios combined everyone’s DNA with human DNA or in the case of possible regular humans from Alrest giving them core crystals making them all blade eaters so that all of angus are on a similar level of power. I say this idea because it always seemed weird to me that every angus character has a core crystal implying that everyone there is someone born after the end of XC2. Also I don’t have KOS-MOS yet after 300 hours of play time, she is my last blade but I actually just started playing again so hopefully I can get her soon.
I was a fan of the first theory too, but it is hinted that both Haze and Wulfric are awakened the very first (and wulfric the second) time. Which does explain why she looks so similar to lora and why Wulfric is a monster like creature. However Wulfric looks a bit like ike a chunky common blade so evolution could still take place. The aionios aging theory is a cool one. I wouldnt even be surprised if Shulk and Tora had something to say/programmed the new crystals to be more in a human way. But it is implied that the Blade kids were given natural birth so it can be questioned if awakening of blades via core crystals even is a thing after XC2. Not to mention that the world tree and trinity processor are gone and this was something tied to the resonating process which might need to be replaced. We do not know enough and can only assume about thw Blade process. But Blades do develop at least the genes for their titan form later on which is shown in Torna so evolution does take place. And characters like Praxid behave differently in their new life. Yeah I was actually a bit disappointed that Taion is a Blade because I thought it'd be cool to have both a human and a homs in the party lol. But one of his parents was said to be a Blade Eater I heard so not entirely wrong. I also dont know if everyone has a core crystal. But I'd need to check that. But the idea isnt bad, remember that Kevesians need to use these devices to power themselves up. I wish you luck in getting kosmos 🙏
@@bladerdj3503 as much as I love xc3 I wish we also got a xc2(2) because there is still so many interesting ideas and concepts that could be explored and explained with even just the blades not to mention how complex the rest of alrest is. I assume that the Agnians’s superior strength come from there core crystals and they all do have a core crystal because then the regular humans from alrest would need something like the power frames that the kevesies have to be on the same level.
@@Ngrizz4899 I am a bit sad we've never seen the beginning of XC3 from Agnus Perspective, it could have given us some more awnsers to that. But Mythras child will remain a mystery for now. However! Nice and interesting video, with a topic I haven't heard many talking about. And it took me pretty long to get KOS-MOS in Xenoblade 2, she was my last rare blade, and I had to farm a lot of legendary Core Crystals to finally get her (Which was honestly quite frustrating, though the feeling of finally obtaining her after all that work was more than satisfying).
I spent two months (days counted, 59) getting around 180-200 core crystals daily for Cressidus and KOS-MOS (about 2-4 hours of daily farming) Started to count the summoning sessions after getting Cressidus on day 35, and it took me 5941 more summons after him to get KOS-MOS there's no common blades on Xenoblade 3, because I have them all
On my first playthrough Kos-Mos took me months, though she wasn't my last (thanks Ursula 😭). I think I got her about a week or so before NG+ came out. Though it was years ago so the exact timeframe isn't 100% in my mind. My most recent playthrough was streaming the game to show my friends the series. I wanted to get Kos-Mos as I needed her for Elma's little heart to heart things so spent a lot of time between streams grinding cores to open them on stream. After finishing a stream, I couldn't resist opening a core and the first was her, off screen, where they didn't even see it happen😅
Excellent video! Really solid theory. Makes me wonder about the possibility of tthe offspring of two blades 🤔 Though, if that's possible, I suppose they would still be more humanoid due to not being 'true blades'. Pretty rough outcome for the beast form blades though. And I got KOS-MOS from a core crystal I got from that driver at the entrance to Torigoth after defeating the final boss for the first time. Still don't have Zenobia though...

I got KOS-MOS yesterday, I was trying (and failing) to get a giant-type megalance blade for the shiny new power quest
